Honestly, if you are willing to adjust your phone use expectations, I would still get the iPhone SE. The design may be old, but there is still a market for those that like this form factor -- users that are still holding onto the iPhone 6, 7 and 8 that want to upgrade their hardware can go with this option because it's a familiar design, no muscle memory is tampered with, and they can still use their old accessories like the protective cases they already have -- saves them more money that way. Regarding the "outdated" display, there are people that get sick due to pulse width modulation (PWM) with OLED screens. LCD panels rarely cause that issue. Not to mention, LCD screens can help prolong battery life compared to OLED. Despite Apple now using USB-C going forward because of EU regulations, Apple's proprietary lightning port will still be around for a while -- how long, that depends. And that's because despite the 15 series just being released, there are thousands of past iPhone models still in use. The average consumer isn't gonna keep upgrading every year unless they are the type to splurge. I would suggest getting a 3rd party USB- C charging/data cable with a lightning port adapter included that's MFI approved - just carry one cable for all your other devices, less clutter. Lastly, with Apple's great track record of software upgrades of up to 5, even 7 years keeping the old models current, no need to upgrade for a long time. iOS 17 runs really well on the SE, so yeah, users will get their money's worth. Love my Se 3, got it slightly used for $150. I'm a moderate user, so battery more than last me a day. It's all the phone I need without spending 4x more on a new Iphone. Coming from an Xr and the smaller screen doesn't bother me at all.
@@nikitarealman4995 For the continued future software updates for the most part. After I purchased the Se, I traded in the Xr to Best Buy for $150, so I basically got the Se for free. I wouldn't have made the purchase if the asking price was $429, which is the price for a new Se.
I have upgrade every year And i have tested all iPhone models since 3GS ( not 15 series) now i have iPhone 14 pro and i think that i really want again SE2022.. i miss Classical IPhone
Typing this on my SE I got yesterday at Verizon. It’s brand new and it’s a good cheap option if you have really good service ie Verizon. I got what I could afford now and I’ll upgrade later. A fresh iPhone is a fresh iPhone. It’s definitely giving me the nostalgia for when I had an iPhone 6. Touch ID is fun and I’ll definitely save this baby as a backup or a simple little iPod. I didn’t grow up with all the phones so this is a cool little throwback for me.
Same here. i came from an iPhone 7 i had for over 6 years, broke my heart after it started jumping from App to app by itself. Went to verizon , and ask if they had an iPhone 7 , the guy smiled said no, and offered me the 3rd gen SE. i couldn’t be happier, the case that was on my iPhone 7 fit the SE perfect. Who wants a big giant phone that cost an arm, and a leg when all i do is text, and talk. Its just a tool, and not for any entertainment .
I love the Iphone SE. I like the the camera bump is so small. I really think the pro models with the huge camera bump is really not great looking or feeling. Also i don't need all those cameras linses, since i'm just taking a photo once now and then. Also i love the home button and the haptick motor. I don't use any cover, so if i bought an expensive iphone i would have covers and screen protection on it, and that takes away the joy of just feeling the phone in your hand, and the look of it. But since it is cheaper i'm okay with no cover, and i've been having it for over a year and still looks great. Battery life and screen size is my only complain, and no night mode in photos also sucks.
Honestly if you can find a good deal on the SE3, then it's still 100 percent worth buying even now. These phones can be found cheap for all that you get. Yes, you get a smaller and older display with a smaller battery. But, you also get a premium build quality, wireless charging, excellent speakers, updates for at least 5 more years, Touch ID and all the same Apple features. Saw these with Straight Talk going for $49 with a plan purchase and even now around $99. For that price it's an excellent value. Or even on the used market.
@@sabrinacasseus8783usually iPhones get at least 5 to 6 years of OS updates. Meaning you could get one now and be good at least until 2027 if not 2028. And that's not even factoring in security updates you still get after that.
The SE 3 is the only way to get a new iPhone if you’re one of the 10% of people who can’t use OLED due to PWM. Let’s pray the SE 4 will be LCD too! NeuralCam app gives the SE night mode!
@@steveb1972thats true. Probably thats why they realsed such an unwanted screen. so the Se wouldnt cannibalize the sales of their flagships. We all love our great phones but also our money. So if apple would have given us a big screen cheaper phone most people would buy that instead of any of the flagships. If im not mistaken the ipad 9 generation is selling better than all the others. Apple sure doesnt want for their flagship iPhones to happen what has happened to their flagship ipads
Currently using an SE 3 and the battery is underwhelming. I mainly use it for messaging and calls - need to charge 2x a day and if I play mobile games on my leisure time will have to charge it a 3rd time. Also, it heats up when I browse e-commerce sites (not sure why)
Almost nobody talks about the phone signal and connectivity. It's almost like forgetting the priority reasons of buying a phone. So tell me , can at least a make and receive a descent quality call ? What about internet on this phone? What about internet? connection?
Making phone calls is fantastic. Connection is amazing you should totally get it. If you want some of the tests, just search how fast it is from an iPhone 13, it’s basically the same phone but a bigger screen with the same chip.
Economist here. The demand function isn't only on a budget basis. I like it because it has a button. It's really that simple. I don't like the user interface of the more expensive iPhones. When I do buy a phone I max out storage, and it lasts me for a long time. I've had my current SE since early 2020. I've replaced the battery once, and it works like new. I plan to keep mine for at least another two or three more years.
Why do all these reviews concentrate on camera quality and gaming? How about how they actually function for a pertinent use: mobile productivity. I’m a heavy user of Microsoft 365 mobile apps for work: Office, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, etc. Reviewers never seem to test these real world practical scenarios, instead it’s all about taking photos and playing games.
Not trying to wind you up this is a genuine question. How would you like them to review that? Like you can objectively review performance, camera quality etc, how would you review their function for the use of the apps you’ve listed. None of those apps should have any problem functioning correctly on near enough any smart phone. I can’t think of a way that teams or one drive would work better on one phone than the other?
I love the SE. i use it for when I travel or just go to a theme park where it might get wet/etc and ain’t afraid that I’ll accidentally drop it. I just use it for text and talk
Se’s would be perfect if apple made se4 like a 13 min and have 3k+ mAh. Imagine a handy an compact phone full screen display, face id flat round design
iPhone XR is still fine. In regard to if the se is better, the se has an a15 chip and is 5g capable. Xr has an a12 chip and is not 5g capable. SE will likely be supported a few years beyond the Xr.
If it's just social media and some lighter games, the XR is the more capable phone if you don't need 5G. Fullscreen, larger battery, more secure faceID. But only one or two ios upgrades and then just security upgrades after that. So 4years? I have the SE2022, and think it's not better than the XR IF I don't need 5G. But I just also like the SE3 feeling in the hand. This is coming from owning 5s, 6sPlus, X, XS Max, SE2, 12mini, 13 ProMax. I still have 13 ProMax, and just gifted my 12mini but use the SE3 everyday except on vacation. Someday when they come out with SE4, I'll get it only if it's a new version of 6sPlus, or X but single rear cam would be perfect for aesthetics and size, or XR. Anything else, I'll just stay with my SE3+13PM combination.
If you have charging, software trouble with phones, you have to do this: choose a new, activated SIM card, that can be out of service, if you want to. Insert the card in the bad phone. The card will shut down the phone, because it consumes high power during the phone activation. Connect the charger, and start the phone. You finished the phone activating. The process will remove the black display, turned display, and will enable the good charging, if your charging was bad. You can do this with any phone, and is not depending on the service of mobile providers, or locked, pin protected cards. The phone activation happens during boot, before the pin code, if the card asks for one. After that, you can use your card, that doesn’t ask activating, such as Vodafone.
Maybe for kids/older folks going into their first iPhone, or maybe someone who really wants to keep the classic Apple design. For most though I'd get one of the newer iPhones.
I got mine slightly used for $150 also, still has 99% battery health. I like it more than my old brick Xr. I never get made fun of, but wouldn't care if I did, just a phone. Just remember its your money, only your opinion matters on what you purchase!
the best phone on a budget on the USED market. The new price of 429 dollars does not make sense anymore for this phone (in 2024) but they can be found used easily for less than 200 dollars in excellent condition. So for someone who does not mind buying used, this is a great option
I want a smaller phone but cannot tolerate OLED screens (eye strain). At this point I might have to retire my iPhone 11 for the SE 2022. Obviously I'd prefer the 13 Mini.
my dad had the same requirements, he was moving from an iPhone 5s and didn't want the full-screen ones, so the SE 2022 was the best choice for him. Considered the Mini, but he wasn't a fan of the full-screen design.

I wanna buy a SE 3 for $190 new on Amazon, it's locked but I only wanna use it as a Ipod, for music, vids and facetiming. Would you recommend that purchase? Or do I consider a SE 2 a bit cheaper but on the used market? Perhaps the bit better battery life and the extra gb of RAM is what got me thinking. Great vid!!!

That screen is the weak point of the SE line. It's ridiculous to pay over a hundred dollars for a 4.7 inch screen. It just doesn't make sense to not have a full 6+ inch screen in 2024 Touch ID is a great feature. I must say though, I was actually surprised at how well the face ID worked when I got my 14 Pro Max. Love my Se 3, got it slightly used for $150. I'm a moderate user, so battery more than last me a day. It's all the phone I need without spending 4x more on a new Iphone. Coming from an Xr and the smaller screen doesn't bother me at all.
glad you're loving it!
Why u change xr to se?
@@nikitarealman4995 For the continued future software updates for the most part. After I purchased the Se, I traded in the Xr to Best Buy for $150, so I basically got the Se for free. I wouldn't have made the purchase if the asking price was $429, which is the price for a new Se.
@@nikitarealman4995SE 3 was released later than X
whered you get it for $150 😭😭😭😭
I have upgrade every year And i have tested all iPhone models since 3GS ( not 15 series) now i have iPhone 14 pro and i think that i really want again SE2022.. i miss Classical IPhone
i use 14 pro and every day i think of moving back to SE , i might take the leap
To me, this SE 3 is flagship at all time
I just got myself a iPhone SE 3 2 days ago and so far I love it.
Im still using the iPhone 6s how does it compare in size and battery life?
Same here. i came from an iPhone 7 i had for over 6 years, broke my heart after it started jumping from App to app by itself.
Do you know when this phone will stop receiving iOS updates? I’m thinking about buying it
@@sabrinacasseus8783usually iPhones get at least 5 to 6 years of OS updates. Meaning you could get one now and be good at least until 2027 if not 2028. And that's not even factoring in security updates you still get after that.
@@sabrinacasseus8783based on Apple's supporting recent iPhones 5 years my guess would be it'll get iOS updates until 2027.
I went for one as it’s still the smaller size and I have small hands. Most people I know don’t like how phones are getting being bigger.
The SE 3 is the only way to get a new iPhone if you’re one of the 10% of people who can’t use OLED due to PWM.
Let’s pray the SE 4 will be LCD too!
NeuralCam app gives the SE night mode!
There wont be an se 4...discontinued

Omg apple should’ve just made the se the size of the 8 plus at least
true, that would have been a great upgrade.
Apple should have made a phone big like your mom
With the budget Xr they realised a Plus SE would eat into the regular iPhone sales.
Or both sizes
Currently using an SE 3 and the battery is underwhelming. I mainly use it for messaging and calls - need to charge 2x a day and if I play mobile games on my leisure time will have to charge it a 3rd time.
Also, it heats up when I browse e-commerce sites (not sure why)
Too. Much. Screen. Time.❤
Yeah the iPhone 15 pro needs to be charged 2-3 times a day. Nothing new with the weak iPhone batteries.🪫
@@fedee276truth!
It basically ain't a Heavy duty iPhone...
If you haven't already, turn off background app refresh, and turn off location. This will help battery life improve.
Got mine for only $49 yesterday, feels like the 6s on steroids lol no complaints does what I need
How to get for $49..?
Can you please guide?
I'd love to get a SE 2022 but the only issue is the battery life. It won't last more than 5 hours.
1 hour a day is a lot, but 5 …wow …folks we need To repent
That hasn’t been my experience, I get a full day even with battery health down to 89%
Yes. We do…
Are you streaming in five hours?
@@bendermi 😅good question
Just brought this for my 10 year old son hope he likes it ❤
iPhone XS and SE 3 still my favourite and the best design im not fan of bigger phones so yeah.. i prefer smaller size
The battery and screen are underwhelming, but I guess you get a snappy SoC, decent cameras albeit only 2 cameras, and iOS updates 🤷♂️
Apple missed an opportunity for a better display here
@@TeamVRY they should have made the screen the size of the iphone 8 plus with better battery life and i would get this phone in a heartbeat!
Apple should just bring back the 5s form factor in the SE. Just install newer or second newest processor in it.
Do you think if the phone is for free and is used for business purposes (phone calls only and ocasional Internet use) is a good deal?
of course, it's best suited for moderate use like that imo.
Yeah it's a great deal..
I love this phone so much that I got it even after having a 14 I phone this is so handy guys just go for it I wanna buy it one more time 😅
LCD SCREEN NEVER DIE
can't buy this phone but i would love to, My work is doing delivery all day in city and the battery of SE can't handle this hustle.
I have a power bank I got for $20 and it can charge the phone twice. So honestly I’ll keep it for another year at least
I got mine for $200. Yeah, well worth it. a powerful processor, good camera and should get updates at least 3 more years.
The xr design with simple modifications, the 7 plus or 8 design, the xs design, and the xs max design, all of them will succeed
@@فارسالتميمي-ع7غ but I like it more to be as small as X or 11 pro. With 3k mAh with single cam like an XR
A new iPhone 12 on Amazon is only 80 more , an iPhone 13 is 120 more , given how long these things last , you can’t recommend the SE
Is the iPhone XR still good? I just upgraded from an iPhone 6
Also, is the iPhone SE better than the XR?
iPhone XR is still fine.

Do you recommend this phone for someone first iPhone?
Maybe for kids/older folks going into their first iPhone, or maybe someone who really wants to keep the classic Apple design. For most though I'd get one of the newer iPhones.

Bro I'd pay anything to be able to use such an iPhone again I miss using it so much?!
the best phone on a budget on the USED market.
Saw many smart old people not gamers buying this phone . No wonder it was one of the best selling iPhones since launch…people should stop talking abt the same old bring excuse that the design is outdated! Vintage is great and face I/d is not as secure as promoted as my friend managed to unlock his friend iPhone! Weird
The one and only reason to get this phone is for the home button… give me a iPhone 14 or 15 with a home button and you would sell millions of them ..
Great vid!!!

i like small phones why have tablet in my pocket
I have a 2024 Toyota. Will the SE 3 work fluidly with apple CarPlay ?
That screen is the weak point of the SE line. It's ridiculous to pay over a hundred dollars for a 4.7 inch screen. It just doesn't make sense to not have a full 6+ inch screen in 2024
Touch ID is a great feature. I must say though, I was actually surprised at how well the face ID worked when I got my 14 Pro Max. I was expecting the slowness of androids face ID. Luckily Apple nailed it though. Overall I was just unhappy with my iPhone. The price was incredibly high for what it was. I used that phone for a few months and went back to a Galaxy. 1200 bucks for the 14 Pro Max was twice as much as it was actually worth.
These are just my opinions. No need to try and tell me I'm wrong or change my mind lol
I have a Samsung (the a54) it would be worth making the jump to this one in 2022 (I value the camera, for social media the software performances and well I like small cell phones) I must say that it would be my first iPhone
Unless you want a home button and very tiny display then you should buy a refurbished iPhone 12 or 13 or something used.
Just a better battery will make this phone a beast!
Is it worthy Upgrading from xr to se 3 in 2023 ?
Obviosusly, first of all you will see the battery is much better and the camera is upgraded, buuuuuut you wont have face id if u liked it.
I’m downgrading from my Iphone 12 to this Iphone to lower my screen time I did the math and if it motivates me to quit excessive scrolling for like 40 min a day and I use that time to work overtime that’s like a $4,000.00 win over the year 😂

Personally I have an iPhone X currently I think the se 3 is a massive upgrade for performance and I get to use that super satisfying home button of course the camera might be a bit worse but I don’t care about that because I am a mobile gamer and even though you get a battery worse that the iPhone X that does not matter to me because I mainly care about performance
I just got the se 3rd gen brand new for $100, I am upgrading from a iPhone 6s. I think it should be an upgrade for sure?!
