Rolling stock: Alstom PL42AC Locomotive #4001 leading the charge, 2 Metro-North Alstom Comet V trailers, and a Metro-North Comet V Cab Car #6710 trailing.
ATTENTION: This is, by far, the longest on-board video I have ever done and I don't even know if I will film another one that will top the length of this one. Nonetheless, I hope y'all enjoy!
This line has two records of its own since it has the longest bridge (Moodna Viaduct separating Harriman and Salisbury Mills-Cornwall), longest tunnel (Otisville Tunnel separating Otisville and Port Jervis), and longest distance and time between two terminals (Hoboken to Port Jervis at 88 miles and 2 hours 5 minutes).
A year ago, I had planned on riding Train 59 all the way to Port Jervis, however, I found out that the train was cancelled the day I was scheduled to go and wanted to wait until the summer so that it wouldn't be too dark by the time I arrived at Port Jervis (at 8:20 pm). I wanted to do this video and take this trip because no one else did and because it was a 48-mile stretch which lasted for almost an hour. In addition, I kinda wanted to film the Moodna Viaduct and the Otisville Tunnel partially.
As usual, this set is led by a PL42AC, however, there are usually 5-6 NJT Comet V cars attached to it. Instead, there are three Metro-North Comet V cars, which I found pretty interesting, but not surprising since it was on Track 1, the shortest track in the terminal. I also found out that this train was supposed to be a 5 car consist, but we ended up with three instead.
The stops that were skipped were Kingsland, Lyndhurst, Delawanna, Passaic, Clifton, Paterson, Hawthorne, Glen Rock-Main, Ridgewood, Ho-Ho-Kus, Waldwick, Allendale, Ramsey, Ramsey Route 17, Mahwah, Suffern, (Metro-North territory) Sloatsburg, and Tuxedo. I found it interesting how the conductor stated "No more stops in New Jersey," which was something I wanted to hear for the longest and this ride felt like I was on an airplane since the conductor announced the train number, destination, frequency of stops, bumpy-ass tracks north of Suffern, smell of the diesel from the locomotive coming inside (kinda like airplane fuel), etc. I apologize for not showing portions of certain stops, especially Ridgewood (I wanted to film the outbound platform), but I was unable to because the train was packed.
This is one of the two only trains that make these eight stops (Hoboken Terminal, Secaucus Junction, Harriman, Salisbury Mills-Cornwall, Campbell Hall, Middletown-Town of Wallkill, Otisville, and Port Jervis). The other one is Train #50, the express train to Hoboken via the Main Line.
Lastly, I wanted to mention how the conductor was most likely trying to take pictures of me at the 1:54:30 portion of the video since he accidentally used his flash and quickly hid his phone from me. It's probably because he was unfamiliar with it, I guess. If you guys want to see what he looks like, check out 2:15. The guy looks like a slightly fatter version of Larry Wheels. As said in the end of the video, I will discuss about this conductor (and maybe the trip as a whole) in another video. Nonetheless, I hope you guys enjoyed and as always, drop a like, comment, subscribe, and share this video! Enjoy! :D

I wonder what it is like for the poor souls who mistakenly get on this train at Secaucus and end up getting taken all the way to Harriman instead of their destinations.

Wow I didn't notice that the entire time from Hoboken to a little passed Otisville the conductor didn't recognize you recording and decided to take a picture of you. He had no right to do that.

So of the 5 lines of Metro North has, is this the longest line of Metro North?

This may sound like a stupid question, but would a ticket to and from NYP be valid in Hoboken (i.e. to allow flexibility in trans-Hudson transportation)? The former destination is more expensive to travel to.

Trying to figure out how to travel tomorrow to glenmere mansion.... we have a bunch of luggage. Is there storage space for luggage on this train line? How much does it cost per person?
