Anton, Thank you for producing this video and explaining the need for a quality center channel and it's positioning. A good home theater is universally enjoyed. My 7.2.4 system is made up of Emotiva speakers and their MC-1 processor with mismatched amps. The center channel speakers is Emotiva's 3 way C1+. Even though my system is in the "budget" price range I am very happy with the audio from it. It is unfortunate that too many multi channel system owners feel that the surround and height channels need not be as good of quality as the LCR. Also, the more I learn about the average Russian citizen more I learn that we are more alike than our politicians would like us to believe. May we all become friends sooner than later. Wishing you all the very best in life.
Good video with excellent advice. Even though I'm running an audiophile grade 5.2.4 setup with of sonus faber front stage speakers being sorted by an arcam avr20 boosted by a couple of matching power amps within a small 4 x 3.5 m (13 x 11.5 ft) living room, I have to say some of the biggest upgrades towards my listening experience has actually been some of the cheapest. 1. Getting the couch off the back wall will improve the perception of Bass immensely. Besides having the audio move around you within a surround sound setup is always a bonus 😊 2. Moving the stereo speakers away from nearby walls enhanced the two channel soundstage (great for music lovers) And last but certainly not least.. 3. Room treatment, I personally would rather listen to a $2,000 setup in a room that sounded great than listen to a $20,000 setup in a room that sounded crap. The sound of the room is everything. The funny thing is it's only when one addresses this problem that one actually starts to realise! Plus, if you're going to experiment rather than experimenting over a period of days, try experimenting over a period of weeks! In my experience, that's how long it took for my ears to adjust (acoustics can be a little obscure at first) And btw it doesn't necessarily have to be expensive either... carpet, curtains, drapes, blankets, plants, shelves and cushions, etc, to help absorb or scatter those standing waves. If interested, here's a little lazy ass demo, but bear in mind I'm no content creator, and I'm certainly no Steven Spielberg... ruclips.net/video/K49Af49krMc/видео.htmlsi=HppmPs0GAJ977Clu
Lovely. Thank you from new Delhi, India. 360 videos already, and you tube just suggested now!? Liked, commented and subscribed. And do bring out videos deep diving on their channels like surround side, back, height etc You may cover details like: Is 7 really required over a 5 bed level? Should atmos be in-ceiling only and how does that compare to high on wall (where the wall meets the ceiling) (that's my current config) Keep them coming.
Using svs speakers ultra towers, and svs ultra centre, and two pairs of svs ultra bookshelf, for surrounds and rear back surround, dual svs sb3000 subs, and four pairs of svs elevations atmos.
I had a bookshelf speaker for my center channel for years, I changed over to Martin Logan Center Channel., Actually I hear no difference but the Martin Logan is louder so I had to turn it down. It was a waste of money I should have just kept the bookshelf speaker but it's not that bad because I caught the Martin Logan on sale half off.
Yeah, no! The sound should not just come from the center of the screen! The way that movies mix surround sound is stupidity at it's maximum! in a movie, the amount of times that a character is actually centered in the frame is equivalent of less than 3% of the full length of the movie, and the sound coming from the center when the character actually is not in the center causes a really jarring disconnection between what the spectator sees and what he hears. The only form of media that does this right is some (not all) but some games that support surround sound, where they will position the voices in 3D space, like Atmos was supposed to do, but people in Hollywood still, for some reason goes the old way about it! Nah, Hollywood needs to learn that sometimes the old ways are not the best ways! For me, my partner aren't much into movies so, I just omit the center channel, i sit in the center and my front pair of speakers will make a phanton center channel that will only work for who's sitting in the center couch but that also makes is less clear and helps to convince me that the sound is coming from the mouth of the actor and not from the center of the screen, because most of the times the actor's mouth isn't in the center, and let's not get into when there's two characters engaging in conversation in a widescreen movie and each are to one side of the screen, yet, their voices are still coming from the center... Pure nonsense... It's not hard to pan the voices between the 3 front speakers, why don't they just do that?
With phantom, and if you are sitting in dead center, it is more accurate than a real center channel. For MLP, phantom center > real center. In processors, it's good to make a 2nd profile of you are alone watching a movie, to use a phantom
While I accept that this man believes what he is saying, he ignores the fact that humans have 2 ears pointing outwards. We gain orientation satisfactorily by this being matched to our brain's complex functionality. Just because a few film directors and producers in the late 20th century wanted to play around with audio feeds of an unnatural type does not mean that they understood human hearing. On the contrary, they did NOT care to understand it.
Most center channel speakers are not designed properly, nor can fit under a TV/screen, when deployed standing up to eliminate the interference pattern. I went with a RSL CG23M not only for its quality/sound, but because it is designed to be installed in either orientation. It fits perfectly under my TV on a short console in the vertical orientation, thus eliminating the interference pattern typical with most other horizontal style centers.
I prefer Full 3 Way design Centre Speakers, gives a Wider Coverage, so got a Monitor Audio Silver C250 7g Centre Speaker I only use One Subwoofer in a Small Living Room but it is Big and Very Powerful Says Down to 16hz it's the SVS PB 2000 Pro
My first center channel was so bad that I now run no center channel for the last 15-20 years. I will never buy a "center channel" speaker. I will only use a LCR Speaker.
@@shashankmlrj It is used for real theaters or home theather. it stands for Left-Center-Right Speaker. Three identical speakers used in the front all vertical speakers.

Agreed....dont skip on the center channel, it is a must to have a good center channel if you want a good forfylling system👍

I use 5 similar Lyngdorf MH2 wallmount speakers in a 5.2.4 setup. So yes , my center is similar to the fronts and rears.
What is your oppinion on the MH2s? I can't find a lot of info about them.

When two speakers are set up correctly all the dialogue comes from the center too
If you are seated in the sweet spot, between them. If not, adding a center channel will basically extend that sweet spot.
yeah only if your alone and dead in the centre 😀

No is not. That's an outdated statement
Also depends on the AVR - some arn't that good at it. Mine isn't so I made sure on the centre's quality and setup

I like your Center Channel speaker but to be honest it looks too big for the screen you have.
