The Postal Service was probably one of the first if not the first band I ever came to like of my own volition. They had such a profound impression on my ten year old mind all those years ago. I think they're due for a renaissance
This was the first song my friend had shown me from this band. We had gone our separate ways and the last I had heard of him was that he had died from an overdose. I always feel like if i had just contacted him and just jammed with him and shown him that there was more to life than hiding your pain, he'd be here with us still. I love you J-Mo
Whoa. My brother’s nickname has always been J-Mo. same thing with the hyphen and everything. He’s heavily addicted right now. It’s sad to see what used to be my big brother become a shell of himself. He’s not even the same person anymore. I’m very sorry for your loss.
Brandon Brown shits tears my heart into a millions black holes I use to listen to this shit in like 5th grade cause my cousin would let me use his CD player to sleep at night
I dont think theres another song i know of that brings back so many memories and feelings like this song. It just captured a part of my life in full essence.
Smoking a j at 1:45 PM on Sunday on my porch and its filled with leaves from this big tree to my left. It's a beautiful day. 70° sunny with some clouds. It's a nice neighborhood. I remembered this song and how I'm here. I need this dose every now and then. It heals me from long term episodes of not remembering who I am.
the potal service has been a fav of mine since 8th grade haha ive been out of school for like 3 years and i still love them the firt band t i ever got was the postal service i loved that shirt lol
Great vid! I enjoyed it. As for the postal service vs. owl city: if you actually take the time to listen to and enjoy both, instead of lumping whichever you don't know into a "not as good" category, you'll find that they're two different artists with their own individual sounds.
@carbootsoul I was worried for a second there, because I've heard the original track. Though, if you directed this, you did an amazing job. The idea it's supposed to be like a dream really took effect.
the only thing i wish is that there were a never end supply of new songs to discover from dcfc or the postal service, because at this point i think ive heard all of them a lot and i miss the exhilirating feelings i used to get when they were new to me.i own all of dcfc CDs except for something about airplanes. i just love the indie sound
@jayeyseekay he always WAS the singer of death cab. the postal service was just a project in between. The Postal Service was a small collaboration between two seperate artist.
so funny you mentioned that I listened to them when i was 16 in the fall time...everytime fall rolls around i have to put them on because it reminds me of the great times i had then.
That was very well said. I tried to say something similar in a different postal service video, though not as eloquent as what you said, but I got massive downvotes and many nasty inbox comments. Both bands are amazing, and artists in similar genres are almost always influenced by one another.
i started listening to TPS before death cab, and thought death cab was too boring to listen to - for about a week. then it started resonating and now they're one of my favorite bands
@addicted2ashlee I think your right. Ben Gibbard is an amazing musician and lyricist. but also, Owl city has come up with some really good and extremely catchy tunes. you cant deny theres both talent and genius in his music as well. its by far not a comparison though. there absolute different types of music to begin with.
i doubt that the guy from owl the city is going to have another good harmony like the one is sounding in the radio. Death cab and postal, they always make good harmonies, nonstop glorious sound.
I'm not a profesionalist, so I can't really pin point what is it that I dislike about this, but amount of work put into it definitelly shows in the top-notch quality. Like from me and keep it up.
@Eeli2008 Lol I like electronic music, heavy metal, slow jams, trance. Different strokes for different folks! Humans are complex beings and different sound vibrations can alter our emotions in profound ways =)
This was the band that led me to the world of electronic music. And now I'm really into it.(Is it a little weird that I love classical music at the same time?)
@xlifewillcomex Adam admitted in an interview the creative debt he owes to the Postal Service. I think his exact words were something like "The postal service only had like one album. Maybe my band is the next chapter of that." With that said though Adam is not without his own creative merit.
That feel when you haven't heard a song in 5 years, and still know all the words.

Now it's been 10 years, still remember?
Has been long time
EXACTLY
Oh the nostalgia how it hits. 🥺🥺🥺
This song is so comforting to me.
I watched this video back in 06, can’t believe its 17 years already my god the nostalgia, I’m getting older too 😢
I love the way this song refers to a happy, healthy, horror- and conspiracy-free world as the strange dream it is.
Never any mystery.. never any misery..
More pertinent now than ever

Ben Gibbard is still very influential these days and they post frequently on the Death Cab YT channel.
I feel you. For me it was My Chemical Romance. I loved them more than life itself when I was 10
Haven't listened to this on about 12 years. Still know all the words. Damn, how much did I listen to this on repeat?

Feel for you brother, I have lost many......yet we survive

Seriously, one of my favorite songs ever. It has such beautiful lyrics.
Ready to Wake up, Alice?
I need another album.
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
This just came up in a convo I was having with a friend- can't believe it's been near 10 years already! Still love it!
a lot of songs bring nostalgia but this seems to do the most damage to me lol
Brandon Brown shits tears my heart into a millions black holes I use to listen to this shit in like 5th grade cause my cousin would let me use his CD player to sleep at night
I’m playing this right now. On a cold February day 2023 in Detroit. And it’s sounds so warm and comforting to me. 😊😊😊
that red wool reminds me trasantlanticism :3
I dont think theres another song i know of that brings back so many memories and feelings like this song. It just captured a part of my life in full essence.

This is a neat video to this song. Awesome job putting it together!!!
I HEARD THIS BEFORE BUT WHERE WTF IS MY MIND

the potal service has been a fav of mine since 8th grade haha ive been out of school for like 3 years and i still love them the firt band t i ever got was the postal service i loved that shirt lol

this is one of the most relaxing songs ever.....i love it
still my favorite band
I usually dont listen to music like that but I really love The Postal Service.
Its so relaxed.
No matter what band he's singing with, his voice is perfect.

Needed This Today ~!
Hmm this song brings back so many memories... It was one of a friend of mine's favorite songs... We miss her.. =')
Very nice music to go postal
@jayeyseekay he always WAS the singer of death cab. the postal service was just a project in between. The Postal Service was a small collaboration between two seperate artist.
I've listened to those two bands for years and I've actually never had that assumption, thanks for the enlightenment haha.
I really love this video :) great job
this a great video for not being official. I think it fits the song perfectly!
@LukeShetler "Death Cab for Cutie is an American indie rock band formed in Bellingham, Washington in 1997."
The Postal Service was formed in 2001.
Very NICE! Happy New Yearz to Youz! :)
This song has been stuck in my head for 3 days now. Nothing will cure it. Gahh!
so funny you mentioned that I listened to them when i was 16 in the fall time...everytime fall rolls around i have to put them on because it reminds me of the great times i had then.
I love how putting return addresses on letters is up there with curing diseases.
first time seeing this video absolutely amazing
This video is still a classic in my book
aww yeah(: so peaceful i can take a nap out in the park and have happy dreams while listening to this song!
SIGH........I love this sooo much!!!! Can i keep it in my head forever! I'm having a baby in april, and she will know this song by heart!!!! WOOT!
That was very well said. I tried to say something similar in a different postal service video, though not as eloquent as what you said, but I got massive downvotes and many nasty inbox comments. Both bands are amazing, and artists in similar genres are almost always influenced by one another.
Just discovered this song and fell in Love with it
All I can hear is pumped up kicks in my head now because of the tone of voice and effects.
i think this should be the official video.bc this is all i think about when i hear it.
I will always love this song.
This video is so good it might as well be the actual mv for it.
i started listening to TPS before death cab, and thought death cab was too boring to listen to - for about a week. then it started resonating and now they're one of my favorite bands
Awesome video dude!
you did a good job with this seriously, subbing

Checkin in.. who’s still listening in 2021?
im here because hayley tweeted this song plus i’ve heard their other songs but i’m in love❤️❤️
PS is such a great band. ;)
The music has such great meaning.
Such an awesome song... wish I would've written it.
i doubt that the guy from owl the city is going to have another good harmony like the one is sounding in the radio. Death cab and postal, they always make good harmonies, nonstop glorious sound.
CMEHA a.k.a. SMENA camera are spoted on the video
That's awesome :D no wonder i liked their music so much, too :)
I'm not a profesionalist, so I can't really pin point what is it that I dislike about this, but amount of work put into it definitelly shows in the top-notch quality. Like from me and keep it up.
lollertoaster it doesn't convey the message very well
My favorite band in the whole whole whole world!! :-) ♥ them!
@Eeli2008 Lol I like electronic music, heavy metal, slow jams, trance. Different strokes for different folks! Humans are complex beings and different sound vibrations can alter our emotions in profound ways =)
@RINGMASTER1118 - It has been "treated" the highlight the Red in the string, and generally give a dream-like effect.
Seeing them this summer!!!!!!!
ah i love the postal service, their songs put me in a good mood =D
don't wake me I plan on listening to this song for the rest of my life.
@Skeletonparsley the singer for death cab is the singer for the postal service (^_^) the postal service's kind of his side project.
Love this band.. :) always has calmed me down xD
this is my all time favorite song like forever. it's my lullaby
Thank you. At last, someone who UNDERSTANDS.
This was the band that led me to the world of electronic music. And now I'm really into it.(Is it a little weird that I love classical music at the same time?)
