Him and my older sister went trick or treating one year and my older sister wouldn’t let me come. I was so bummed. But chase told her that I was coming too. Thank you, Chase, I’ll never forget that memory.
Chase is one of the best dudes that I’ve been able to call a friend and it’s cool to see what he was able to a accomplish after he got sober, Huge inspiration. It’s totally rad and amazing to see that his music has helped people through there dark times. I love how good music does that, there’s nothing like it. Keep killing it Chase!!!! In April of 2022 this video was suggested to me on RUclips Music when I opened the app on my phone when I woke up in the morning to watch music videos as I often would do back then. The reason this morning was significant was because it was the day after I had to put my dog down after having been with him for twelve years, and going to sleep with him every night next to my bed. I thought "huh I've heard Gatecreeper before and thought they were cool," and obviously the title grabbed me. At the time I didn't know the words, but the music and the vocals felt like they encapsulated just how I felt. I listened to this song every day for months before I finally looked up the lyrics. Which was a heavy moment for me right from the first line. I still listen to this song at least twice a week. Gatecreeper has been my favorite band since that day, and this song always makes me remember the times I had with my best friend.
I keep coming back to this, and it's better every time. A full album of death-doom would be absolutely fucking sick. Also, seeing this live would be mind-blowing.
I wanted to hear these live but i saw em open for knocked loose so i shouldve assumed they'd play their other shit for that crowd. They had that whole church bssement headbanging though. Better live than on record even

I’ve been a metal head/hardcore kid since I was 11. It took a fusion of Gatecreeper, Obituary, and Blood Incantation to help me finally fall in love with death metal at almost age 29. This isn’t just good death/doom metal. This is art. There are so many good young bands right now. Each are taking so many genres to new heights and each have their own unique vibe. Gatecreeper, Blood Incantation, Power Trip (RIP Riley), Code Orange, Knocked Loose, Turnstile, and then there are legends like Madball, RATM, and Obituary that are being rediscovered by a whole new generation. We are blessed to be in a renaissance.

They were the main act I really wanted to see, and yep they blew me away once again! I do love the other bands they toured with, but I love GATECREEPER just a little bit more!
