Craves are run dependent. My first Sarah Hokom Neutron Crave 172G was dead straight. For reference I throw 300 feet max with the Crave. My Second Hokom Crave 169G was quite flippy. I could hyzer flip it with back hand shots out to 300. My R2 Crave was quite similar to that as well. I have a flat proton crave as well which is a more OS than the rest so far. My newest max weight Hokom Crave is even more OS. The cosmic neutron Crave is the most OS Crave I own. It’s more like a Teebird. i also had a 148G fission Crave and that was pretty understable. very good for tailwind shots but i would turn and burn it way too often so i gave it to my 60 year old Dad and its his Dead Straight driver and he loves it. Thats my experience with the Crave. 1 most OS to 8 most US. 1 Cosmic Neutron 2 Board flat Hokom 3 proton 4 hokom 172G 5 PDGA box Crave R2 plastic 6 R2 eclipse rim Crave 7 169G hokom 8 148G Fission
My plasma Crave is insanely overstable, must be the run I got. I regularly drive with Thunderbirds and Graces just fine but if I throw my Crave as hard as I can it literally flies like a champ Firebird.
New to disc golf and your format/style is the best I’ve seen. Quick hitting. Lefty, righty, backhand, forehand …. You cover literally everything someone would want in 1/2 the time. Easy sub! Thanks for the great content
Working at a disc shop, and the crave being my favorite disc, I’ve found that each run seems to be a slightly different version of the crave. Some more stable, some less. The new run looks less stable but the blank white top dye job specials are more stable. It’s my favorite disc, but if you want a replacement bring your disc to a shop and find one that has similar dome and parting line.
Cosmic Neutron, max weight crave is quite a bit more OS than the rest of the many plastics. Soon the Eclipse 2.0 will drop, then we'll see which is the most OS crave. You can always bump up to a Servo if you want something a little more OS than a Crave, or when you throw in a headwind and want a similar flight, try the Servo instead of a Crave. Good MVP content. Thanks.
If it’s anything like Simon’s eclipse hex’s it’ll start stable and beat in quick to dead straight. The recent eclipse runs haven’t been that stable. I think cosmic neutron will remain the most stable plastic.
Crave has become my go-to on many shots up to about 330 feet. There is something about it that some days just takes off and flies better than everything else in the bag, Gyro or not.
I have a proton crave and it’s not domey, it’s flat like my other ones. I’ve never bought that the crave is “in between” a mid and fairway distance-wise, instead I think it’s a flat fairway driver that feels like a midrange. I consistently throw craves and rivers the same distance as stable 9 speeds because they both have insane glide. Cosmic neutron is the most overstable plastic by far and flies more like a 7/5/0/2 in the crave. Really impressed that you can forehand the crave Lefty without turning it over. You don’t have much off axis torque at all.
I think it’s as long if not longer than most 7 speeds. I got a cicada and wanted to like it but my crave consistently gets me 10-15 feet more distance. And a tighter flight path.
For some reason my plasma Crave flies like a 7/4/0/4. I regularly throw thunderbirds, sidewinders, and graces full flight just fine but my crave is like a baby firebird.
@@derpderpin1568 plasma is the only mvp plastic I don’t throw often. It’s consistently too slippery for my grip. R2 is that way too, until you wash it with soap and water and get the skin oil off and then it’s fairly tachy after some chalk.
Thank you for kind words! The Proton I have is a distance driver that feels like a slower fairway. I don’t know if it is due the dome so has a lot more glide, but it goes like 30-40 feet further than the Fission or Plasma! I agree that it gets up there with my speed 9-10 discs. I think I’ve thrown that Proton Crave farther than my Heat 😅.
Plasma crave is a beast. I have had fission, neutron, and plasma. Sold back the neutrons - too understable. Kept the fission bc it is yellow - stable to understable. But the Plasma you can crank and it'll hold a line period.
I bought a crave from infinite discs and I specifically looked for one they said was somewhat domey. I was looking for one with potentially more turn and glide.. touchdown!! I love it and I have it paired with a board flat plasma crave. Plasma is a -1,1 but the fission is like a -2,1..
I’ve got one in the glow plastic and it is my most overstable disk. So strange how different mine flies to yours. It’s almost Cap Rap level of over stable where it really struggles to stay in the air
I can see an Eclipse Crave fly very OS! Could see it similar to the Eclipse Insanity from a few years ago which was basically a Cap Rap. I don’t have a long history with MVP/Axiom/Streamline, but have noticed discs in Eclipse are almost entirely different discs.
I found a beat proton one and it’s cool but all MVP/axiom discs dump hard to the right (LHBH). I’d I throw it out right it’s a little better. But I don’t have to do that with other discs. I have a 2nd run Volt and a Relay and now a Crave and they all fly the same. MVP Watt is my putter and goes straight but that’s it. I throw a Valkyrie and leopard 230 consistently.
What weight are the discs? I have found that I have to get lower weight MVP discs to fly like the numbers. Generally I’m picking up MVP discs that are 158-163g. Anything over 170 for me is just a meat hook. If you are looking for a turnover mid, I’d go with a Paradox. Very understable, so easy to hyzer flip for tunnels or throw flat for turnovers. Also with the glide, it can reach some great distances for slower arms.
Proton Craves definitely tend to be flat. I've seen a lot of domes Cosmic, Fission and Plasma Craves. Proton usually is the most stable one too, just barely turning over on a 115m flat shot.
My plasma Crave is insanely overstable, must be the run I got. Like I can throw 9-11 speeds just fine so it's not a power issue but if I throw my Crave as hard as I can it literally flies like a champ Firebird.
Nice to see this as I just ordered a Crave yesterday. Now I'm even more anxious to have it in my hands.
You’ll love it. Goes 95% as far as 9-11 speeds with much better control. I just bought my 9th Crave today 😂.
Hope you enjoy it!!!

@@derpderpin1568 that’s crazy! Definitely keep that unique one
Thank you for the list! I keep hearing the Cosmic Neutron are beefy, so definitely need to pick one up!

Thank you for the very kind words and support! I hope the content continues to be helpful!

Maybe they will surprise us and be another Eclipse Insanity 😅
Crave has become my go-to on many shots up to about 330 feet. There is something about it that some days just takes off and flies better than everything else in the bag, Gyro or not.
My Proton is definitely more overstable and has a slight dome. I absolutely love the Crave. One of my all time favorite discs!

I second all of this. Flat craves are cheat code fairways. My crave is board flat, flips up and fades both consistently.

fun one to toss! I gave my buddy a flat cosmic neutron one and he uses it for long turning shots, really reliable

Happy to hear you found what you were looking for!
One of my most thrown discs is a neutron crave 169grams. Love it for 250-315 foot shots
Love my neutron crave at 166g. I'm very new but I love the way this disc throws.
also notable my plasma crave is the flippiest one i have... cosmic neutron is beefy AF for a crave
Interesting! I’ve only tossed two plasma’s, but both were pretty beefy. I’ve heard the cosmic neutrons are beef, I might have to pick one up!

Crave will stick to any line you put it on, great disc for beginners who are learning what "control" or "touch" actually means

Good info to know! Thank you!🙏
I have one of the 6.5/4/0/3 Plasma Craves ☹️
Perfect for forehand shots!
Crave fh hyzer flip for the win
My plasma Crave is insanely overstable, must be the run I got. Like I can throw 9-11 speeds just fine so it's not a power issue but if I throw my Crave as hard as I can it literally flies like a champ Firebird.
That is a beefy boy! Both plasma’s I’ve thrown definitely have some beef, but nowhere near Firebird! 😮
Best disc ever
Such a good driver!
my proton is flat and flippy
My proton is as flat as my fission, but fly just fine.
My proton crave is flat flat and more stable than fission.
Good to know that flat ones are out there! Sounds like my domey one might be the minority.
