That was the best local ABC promo, I ever seen on RUclips. Folks who were adults, kids, and senior citizens may move on with their life before we humans lived in New York.
This was New York City before I was born in 1998? Wow! 😀
RIP Roger Grimsby, Bill Beutel, Regis Philbin, Joel Siegel, Tom Snyder.
When did Joel Siegel passed?

I don't care if I wasn't even born yet, just take me back to this time already! The nostalgia is too fucking real!!! \m/
I was born in '63, which made me 21 then, and believe me, what a time to be alive!
Same
You missed out on something special.
Did you know that "Live with Kelly and Ryan" had its roots on WABC-TV going way back to 1970 as "A.M. New York", which was hosted by the late, great John Bartholomew Tucker?
Live is owned by ABC Disney and they broadcast out the WABC studios in NYC
I've seen each and every single episode of Mr. Belvedere. I've also seen The Night they Saved Christmas with Jaclyn Smith, Art Carney, and Paul Williams; and the Moonlighting pilot movie. All which premiered that season on ABC.
Interesting how the male singer is singing it in the same key as Florence Warner in the original. Quite often, they will change the keys for male and female singers, even within the same campaign. That was the case with the “Hello News” campaign, which also involved both Frank Gari and Florence Warner.
I wish the Big 4 networks would still do songs each season, sadly that's no longer the case
Yeah, agreed. This genuinely is AMAZING. We need more of these. At least with WPTA's beard promo..thing it was unique. It was absolutely weird, but at least there were signs of care put in that. But nowadays? You'd be hard-pressed to find one doing a 30-second one. Which is why honestly? Wholeheartedly? I'd give WFNA the honor of best CW affiliate just because they did something for their CW Dare to Defy. At least they did the bare minimum to localize their 1:00 promo.
They were following the trend of what was popular on the radio then, but that was before Clear Channel/iHeartRadio launched its war against music and Pfizer provided the bullets.
A great advert to forever capture the life and people of New York City in 1984 great job ABC
We're with you on KVCT (Victoria, TX). That station left ABC shortly thereafter for religion, before going to FOX. ABC moved to upstart KAVU, which switched from NBC.
The flagship of ABC. New York. No surprise and always will.
WABC Originally Used the Longer Version because New York was home to ABC.
'Were with you on Channel 2
WKRN-TV Nashville, TN
This seems so long ago so much as to think it never really happened.
0:35: Man, were those subway trains graffitied back then!
"We're With You, on 33." WYTV, Youngstown, Ohio
Wow!!! What a great station promo. Years ago here in Australia, WIN 4 Wollongong NSW used to have a "We're With You Channel 4" promo, though it was a different tune.
I think 7 needs to bring this back like '4 New York did.

Two of America's Most Awesome Newscasters, and News Duos are no longer with us.
The Tag Team of Bill Buetel and Roger Grimsby, and their famous sign-off...
Grimsby saying his first half - hoping your news is good news, I'm Roger Grimsby.
Beutel saying his last half - Good Luck, Be Well.

0:30 This. is. Jeopardy!
WABC-TV is owned and operated by ABC Owned Television Stations, a division of the Disney-ABC Television Group.
This was the Rundown on the 5 ABC O&O's at the Time Before Capital Cities Bought ABC in 85, & 10 Years Later in 95 when Disney Bought ABC/Capital Cities.
New York: WABC 7
Chicago: WLS 7
Los Angeles: (My Turf) KABC 7
San Francisco: KGO 7
Detroit: WXYZ 7 ( After Merger With Capital Cities in 85, ABC Sold of WXYZ because of FCC Rules, Cause Capital Cities wanted to Keep WPVI: ABC 6 in Philly, Cause WPVI was a Profitable Station, & it was Either WXYZ or WPVI, WXYZ Lost!)

Yup, WGRZ was lucky enough to use "Let's All Be There" instead of "We're With You."
Michael Glickman That's Come Up to Ten in Australia
1983
That part I did know about. ;)
2:49 - That’s the late Regis Philbin.
Do you have WABC's "there goes that newsman again!" promo with their truck all over the city?
Dig the cowbell and synth drum fill
Look at those ladies chasing after Regis at 1:05 !
WGRZ is NBC, not ABC, and I would think that WKBW-TV 7 (which is ABC) used a version of this slogan.
2:47 We’re With You On Channel 7
Sorry. :) I knew WKBW was ABC. :) I don't remember too much about Buffalo TV stations circa 1980s. :)
Do you have any other WABC-TV Channel 7 versions of ABC campaigns?
WBBJ, coincidentally another Channel 7, as well as ABC affiliate, had their own version of this song also in 1984, Marie K.
First shot...World Trade Center.
Nostalgic.
2:40 As Long As You’re After
On a hazy New York morning...
2:12 Do the taxi cabs really go that fast in NYC? 😄
The Great Grimsby's station
Heck even Channel 11 brought back their PIX branding, WABC IT'S YOUR TURN!
Life before the virus
If WABC was number one with Eyewitness News, what was the rating with WNBC's News 4 New York?
This question pertains to ABC sucking badly while NBC was riding high with Let's All Be There promos, Comedies (including upstart Cosby Show), Drama (Hunter).
What about ABC and NBC National News, how did they do in 1984?
Greetings, Scoop Nemeth
According to all NYC TV station's informations, WCBS' (Channel 2) "Channel 2 News", who was the former news leader, was suffering ratings struggles since WABC-TV (Channel 7) brought the "Eyewitness News" in the early 1970's. With that in mind, I could say that WNBC's (Channel 4) "News 4 New York" was the runner-up.
Now, CBS2 reboosted its ratings, with NBC4 suffering ratings struggles with its newscasts since 2007.
And the CBS Evening News (with Dan Rather) was still #1 in '84.
@recto89 can we se WBRC Version
Did WGRZ TV 2 Buffalo ever use this slogan?
No! It was an NBC affiliate.
@Jimdoggg WPRI in Providence, Rhode Island (now CBS); and WCVB Channel 5 in Boston; not all New Englanders are fruitcakes.
Open
