These battery operated tools these days are so convenient, I've started switching all mine to this way of doing things. Great review of the Trimmer the extra battery is a good idea, I'd probably get an extra as well.

Looks like a great trimmer John. The folding shaft is a nice feature for storage and transporting. The 9 Ah battery should give you a decent amount of additional runtime for sure. Happy New Year! 👍

You forgot to show how to get the string to extend out lol I was waiting for that part maybe I missed it or misunderstood but thank you for this video helped me get it out together and showed me how to properly use it. ❤

When is the battery fully charged by the provided charger. When I put a battery in the charger it blinks red and after awhile it stops blinking and stays red. Intuition would tell me that at this point it is fully charged but after talking with Dewalt customer service they insist that the battery charger should show a green light when it is fully charged. I never see a green light on any of my dewalt chargers. What do you say?
My battery chargers are blinking red while charging. Once charged, the red light is solid red (no blinking) The only green lights are the status bars on the battery itself in which shows how much life you have left.....
Unless they came up with a new charger.....
@@JohnCRV Thanks for the response. I ran the 5 AH battery after the charger turned red and it ran for less that 15 minuses before it started cutting out. I called the dealer where I bought it and they told me it might be a bad battery. and agreed to replace it. I am a believer that operator error usually causes most problems with electronics so I'm going to try recharching it on more time and see ho long of usage I have tomorrow morning and will get back to you on results
@@JohnCRV still working the battery issue John. You might want to do a dewalt battery video. I just got back from the hardware store where the tool guy showed me that the 5a?
?hr battery and larger has a charge indicator on the back of the BATTERY showing how well its charged. The instruction book does a poor job of explaining this.right now both the battery and charger say that this 5a/hr is ready to go.I'll give it a try later and see if it works longer than 20 minutes

Thanks Gary. Ryobi is a pretty good brand from what I hear. We try to stick with DEWALT for many of our tools since they use the same batteries.
