A nice camera, very good quality picture. I noticed that insurance companies like people to use cameras and some give you a discount on your premium if you do. Nice area you live in as well.

We got 5cm here on Sat but the thing with snow is that it has to be below freezing for it to stick around.
You guys can keep it. Its great being in the tropics of BC. No snow, no Ice. Meanwhile everyone else is digging out every day.

At this rate you'll need a forward looking camera just to see where you're going! Grin

They are not staying in there. Once the shoot is done the camera comes out and I sell the extras,

You could probably use the free commandline video tool, ffmpeg, ffmpeg.org to (batch) convert your videofiles into something your video editor understands.

I have no time to piss around with command line crap. I grew up in a DOS world where everything was command line and batch file. Today I want to simplify my life and not go backwards that's also why I refused to touch anything to do with Linux. My time is valuable and typing in command lines even if it's just to create a batch file is something I'm not going to go back to. The 30 bucks I paid for my software about 4 years ago maybe five when I got it has been money well spent because I don't need to deal with updates it's done for me when I launched the program as a registered user I am notified that there's an update with new features I just update the program and go about my work. I open the program click on load files tag all of the files that I want to convert, select the format I want the files in and click go and walk away. Computer will notify me with a beep once all the files are converted and stored in the selected folder that I send them to for conversion. Nothing to think about nothing to type nothing to experiment with I just click the files and go and for 30 bucks that was a bargain. If you like fiddle farting around with command lines knock yourself out but for the rest of us that have more important things to do with our time the 30 bucks is a real bargain.

@@12voltvids All right, fair enough, I have just always used ffmpeg for trivial tasks, like batch conversions, cropping, scaling, rotating and so forth, and it has always been working, in contrast to many commercial graphical products. And I only need this one tool for most of my video work.

@@eklux I have it, and have used it in the past, I just find the GUI interface is faster and easier to deal with then typing in filenames and command switches. As a content creator time is money and the faster I can get something done the better. It is entirely possible that bbmpeg is the core that does the conversion under control of the GUI. The nice thing is i can download 1080 and 4k videos from RUclips and it will stitch the audio and video together. No it won't download amazon or Netflix as that is protected content but it will work with non protected content and they stay on top of the changes that RUclips makes to block downloads so i don't have to spend time reading the forums to stay on top of changes. As I said I have better things to do with my time.

I don't know whether ffmpeg would be smart to use to download content from the web (RUclips), but that is certainly not a trivial task like converting a batch of videofiles. You would have to manually update ffmpeg all the time, as you mentioned, and that would not be smart :-)
I would still argue, that you could make a batch file on the desktop, that automaticly converted all videofiles in a folder, with just one doubleclick. Without having to edit it. Just for the sake of argument, I don't think command line is notoriously 'crap', but in some cases is smarter and faster. But I respect your choice, since you have found a GUI app, that actually works and does what you need.

Sure you could make a batch file and assuming you have all your files in a source directory it would convert them sure but keeping the SW up to date is a hassle. With dvd converter they release new versions all the time so as a new release is ready when I open the app it asks me to update. Does everything automatically. There is huge value in that alone. Worth the price of admission

Well that looked pretty dam good for day and night driving :-D.
I didn't like the look of that dark mass of cloud just waiting to piss it down.
Dare to get out of your car :-D
i'm like you, i want the software in my hands.
I don't trust companys (Ever) , they have a habit of changing the rules or just vanishing, then you are in the sh1t :-(
Nothing on the net is permanent, and being forced to log into a server so your software works is a no no.
