During a recent drone solar inspection, we were able to uncover various issues regarding half-cut cells. If you are unfamiliar with half-cut solar cells, these innovative configurations maximize energy output by reducing cell size, allowing more cells to fit on each module. The unique half-cut design means the top and bottom operate independently, generating power even if one half is shaded, or in this case, with hotspots. Using advanced series wiring and a bypass diode system, they outperform traditional module designs, minimizing power loss from shading.

On the shots shown here there's quite a lot of hotspots visible - to me (who doesn't know much about solar) that seems like a very high defect rate. Is this normal / an acceptable rate?
