    Will Smith, first he laugh at the joke ; then he got angry and smack Chris for a known joke ; then he cried and that he is emotional ; then he went clubbing and was laughing and having a good time ; then he felt sorry and apologise on twitter and say he is a work in progress. "He is a work in progress indeed" such a good actor

    I think jacky's first ex asking him sleeping with someone else, is a sign of her making herself to feel better for her own actions. those words are for selfish reasons.

    Congrats on your new studio! I'm not a professional acoustic consultant, but there is a certain acoustic property that is better in your previous location. Not sure if its just the type of mic or the acoustic property of the room. There are more echos/reverberations in this room. May need more acoustic panels fitted for a studio recording. Looking fwd to final outcome!

    ya boy, jp based. and besides, the point is that GI jane is badass, and no one actually thinks jada looks bad bald. she's objectively good looking (although rotten on the inside). that joke wasn't even insulting, it was just like a corny reference to an old and iconic movie. I think that's what chris rock meant by 'it's a GI jane joke'. it was more of 'you remind me of GI jane' not 'lol ur bald'. no one thought GI jane was lame for being bald - GI jane was a navy seal.

    its funny idk why when Jackie was sharing his open relationship story, he kinda fits right into murakami's novels, he has that exact softness(inner/outer) and the yearning for the lady while shes spends her time with other partners in life (be it a secret from jackie or not).

    Both of them are wrong. Violence is definitely a no-go. Additionally, talking about something so personal in the name of humour, especially on national TV is not ok. It’s like saying “just joking” after leaving a nasty comment.

    12:32 I don't believe that the reaction was in response of being the subject of the joke. It is because a person's medical condition was being used as the joke. As Chris Rock had said in his apology, even as a comedian, there are some lines that you do not cross. And a person's medical condition is one of those lines. I'm sure celebrities all know and somewhat accept that they can be targetted for a joke at any time, but I don't believe it should involve their medical condition if they have one.

    Sure Will Smith violence is definitely wrong but it is super BS that comedy has no lines that need to be drawn. Does this means as long as you put a guises of a joke it is okay to insult or to worst extent defame, harm people mentally maybe or spread misinformation etc everything is fair game. Arguing that when a line is drawn, comedy will slowly go down the slippery slope to only saying knock knock joke is is illogical. They key is how the line in comedy is drawn and not move around without reason instead of saying we are not going to drawn a line forever.

      at the end of the day it is all about environment and context. Comedians dont insult everyone they see in public. But they do it in settings that allows them to do so. All jokes are going to offend someone at some point in time. Look at Ricky Gervais roasting everyone in golden globes, dont see him getting punched. These comedians are literally being paid to roast the audience in these events.

    Since the moment I saw that clip on tik tok, I imagined myself being in Will's shoes and I must say, in this situation, both parties are kind of in the wrong here.
    Chris Rock should've looked up why Jada was bald and Will Smith shouldn't have used any force on Chris. If a comedian made fun of my wife in the same context and I have the same stature as Will, I would've walked up with the same swag and talk to Chris about my wife's illness in a whisper like "yo dawg, not cool. My wife's ill, man".
    I'm sure Chris would have taken the joke back and apologise.
    PS: Andrew Garfield should've won the Oscar.

    • @jambalaya428
      @jambalaya428 2 года назад +5

      Chris Rock made a distasteful joke in hindsight and really there are two types of people in this world, people who will be mad offended and people who have no issues laughing at themselves. Regardless, the best way to take it is to be calm and if offence was taken then things can be worked out off stage. Will Smith could've been more mature about the whole situation and demand a public apology off stage, off air and people would be on his side because Chris would look like the real ass here.
      But what Will did was the worst way to react which is to use violence and shouting profanities on live TV. Now he's the bigger ass here and it's made worse by the fact that he laughed at the joke initially. Both are in the wrong but Will was wayyyy out of line. Not something you'd expect a 50 year old adult male. But hey, maybe something snapped in Will and that he had a temporary lapse of judgement. The man does look like he's going through a rough patch and we can only speculate about his mental health. Society tend to pressure celebrities into living their lives flawlessly and that's probably the worst thing about being so famous. Everything you do or say will become front page news, for better or for worse. You literally can't be a human cause to be human is to be flawed.

Like every other people, comedians should know which topic to not go to since it will be triggering to people, especially when you are speaking to not one but many. If the person u made fun of is not finding it funny, then its not a joke, but an insult. know your lane.

    there needs to be a line. dont tell me you will make a joke that will put you in jail? Does it mean that a comedian doesnt need to care about feelings of some people who are going through a difficult time? For e.g, is it wise to make a joke on wars or flight tragedies? Shouldnt comedians have sort of awareness too?

    • @MilkTeaLessSugar
      @MilkTeaLessSugar 2 года назад

      if you've ever laughed at someone falling down, you've laughed at someone going through a difficult time. It's all about perspective isn't it? What is funny to you might be offensive to others and vice versa. Does that mean we all stop laughing completely? If you can't make a joke about baldness, you cant joke about sh*t.

    Open relations are another model on the spectrum of relationship models, even the hetero-normaltive ones does not work for 50% of the population considering the amount of sexless/loveless/cheating and divorces statistically. Open relationships requires alot of self-awareness,attention to own's insecurities, building on a 'customized' fit for both humans in it based on trust,openness, vulnerabilities and honesty. So obviously both partners or the foundations in question here wasn't fit or ready to progress into an open relationship.

    • @jiawei0917
      @jiawei0917 2 года назад +1

      Pete Davidson received and made those jokes all the time. And no, academy awards host are all comics, I could be wrong, but show me a presenter or host that cracked 0 jokes. So it is already expected.

    • @ken61175
      @ken61175 2 года назад

      @@jiawei0917 Actually not all Academy Award hosts are comics, Anne Hathaway (2011),& Alec Baldwin (2010) are more recent hosts who, while they might have some comic chops, aren't comics persay. Further Chris Rock wasn't there as host. If you really want to get technical about it, the hosts for 2022 were Regina Hall, Amy Schumer and Wanda Sykes.
      And you seem to have missed the point entirely. It's not about NOT making jokes. Its about the appropriateness of the jokes. There are lines that must not be crossed.
      1) This is not a Chris Rock comedy special, this is the Academy Awards.
      2) To claim 'it is already expected' just because he is a comedian is sophistry. No one attends the Academy Awards to be the butt of jokes. they attend the awards to be recognised for their work done, and possible win the highest form of the recognition, which is the SAG awards.
      3) Just because someone is in your presence doesn't automatically make them fair game. If you really want a slippery slope to avoid standing on, that's the one you should be aware of. What Chris Rock did, and what was suggested in the podcast, was that as long as you are in the audience you are fair game and you shouldn't be there if you didn't want to be that 'fair game'.
      You seem to forget this wasn't a comedy fest hosted by Chris and attended by the Smiths. No matter how you try to spin this, the fact is, they attended the SAG awards ceremony cause Wil Smith was being recognised for his acting, not because Chris Rock was a presenter who was there to make adlib jokes. Further in any comedy fest, there are lines that can never be crossed for various reasons. to make a claim that there are no lines that cannot be crossed because it's a slippery slope and because it limits the comedian says much about the comedian's abilities.
      As I asked, would it be fine to make fun of a holocaust survivor just because he/she is in your audience? Do you seriously want to argue that it is ok to make jokes about the victims of the holocaust to a holocaust victim?
      To put it in a Singapore context, would it be appropriate to make fun to survivor of Kempeitai torture about their torture? Or perhaps make jokes about rape directed to a rape victim?
      I am not saying that Wil Smith's reaction is appropriate or proportional to the slight he might have felt at Jada being targeted for suffering from Alopecia. But how right or wrong Wil Smith was, does not justify Chris Rock targeting Jada for her medical condition.
