    It's the voice I fell in love with so many years ago. 😻 There's nothing wrong with using AI to help Randy produce this song. He was involved with it and he had final approval of it. As Mary, Randy's wife said, "You don't know how much you missed it until you hear it again." 😂😂😂 Now I don't want to hear any new AI music from deceased people like Johnny Cash; that's where I draw the line.

    I like how you affirmed this is ''a tool'' which he can use to share his music with us all! He's got the music inside of him, and using AI in a confirmed way to 'his standards' and continue giving us of himself!....this is a good thing from my standpoint!

    Awesome song! I'm so glad technology has came this far to help this amazing artist still do the things he loves after getting his voice taken from him.

    I remember seeing a video clip where Charlie Daniels and Randy Travis were off the side of a stage at some big show. Randy looked emotional as Charlie was asking him if he wanted to be able to sing again, to which Randy nodded "Yeah". Then Charlie started praying over him right there.
    And here we are.. Charlie has since passed, but Randy Travis is finally able to produce music again. Even if he's not directly singing it himself. You know that lifted his spirit, as is evident in those videos of him laughing while showing the song to his friends.

    But I do watch them just to see what the difference in reaction are. But you sir I truly enjoyed watching because you felt this song as most people who have listened to it have and your opinion of how AI was used to or Randy and this song was right on. So right on for you. I willost definitely be a subscribeer.👍

    I love your reaction and comparing the use of AI to resurrect Randy’s voice with using assistive technology to help disabled people live life more fully. I’ve listened to this song over and over tonight, as well as reaction videos. Ive been in tears for an hour. I’ve been a fan of his since the beginning.

    Fact is this isn’t someone trying to trick you or fake their talent. This is someone using it for health reasons who is honest with you and not trying to trick you. I’m happy to hear his voice again.

    there's a best behind-the-scenes video produced by CBS News reporter Lee Cowan. They actually had a demo artist record the tracks, and then they just layered Randy's voice over his voice with the help of AI tools of course ...it's really interesting how they made it.

    A few familiar faces I've seen in the video; Clay Walker, Vince Gill, Carrie Underwood, Cole Swindell. I agree with you as well, if something is being used as a tool to assist someone who struggles to or is incapable of completing a task or performing, by all means go for it!

    I’ve been a Randy Travis fan since day one. I have missed hearing his voice and am thrilled for this song, and him. With all genres using altering technology, this is just another example. These are Randy Travis’ vocals, only prerecorded and altered. He was involved and he approved. So good to hear from him again! If it had come from an artist that had already passed, my opinion would be different. Beautiful song!

      I have no problem using someone who has passed voice as long as their family benefits from it.

    • @ellenw391
      @ellenw391 5 месяцев назад +4

      EXACTLY!!! I just posted on this. It is OK because Randy was right there, able to approve or say no. He was part of every part of this process. Which was a brilliant use of AI, knowing millions of us would be so happy to hear Randy again, we'd overlook the larger ramifications. I do hope some laws get on the books quickly so record labels can't just go to their back catalog and do what they want with it. Elvis' estate won the right to control image and usage, but IMHO this needs to be clarified and quickly. I think most artists would not just approve of their AI use, and certainly not without someone at the helm they trust. I personally would be far more OK with a holographic Elvis or Freddie, singing only what they recorded versus new music from them.

  • @ellenw391
    @ellenw391 5 месяцев назад +6

    Yes, this is the best possible use of AI. The main factor being Randy is still alive, and was able to say NO if he didn't feel the sound or song was up to his standard and approval. I think millions of us are so happy to hear new Randy Travis material that we are willing to overlook the larger and very real AI concerns. Where is the line, and who decides it?
    Should we all look forward to new Elvis, Freddie Mercury, etc etc music?? Who has that right of approval? While I think Riley Keough has a good head on her shoulders, she sadly wasn't alive to meet her Grandfather. Should that right fall to any next of kin? What about Freddie? He even made his wishes clear "do what you want with my music, just don't make me boring." BUT he never envisioned this possibility. Let's go deeper. If anyone was a Harry Chapin fan, you know no one before or since wrote anything similar to his songs. While I don't think enough folks remember him for it to be a serious concern, what do you do about material that even with AI can't replicate the original. AI may be great at fluffy similarities, but is nowhere near comparable to unique musical talents. It can replicate and create, but just like reading AI written stuff, the soul isn't in there. I had a friend test me w/2 paragraphs to prove this point. I could point to the AI after one sentence. Thankfully lol. But this lovely song leads to many complicated scenarios.

    AI 100% nailed the voice. As i understand it was his writing, he just no longer had the ability to sing and play. But he did work with the team the produced this. I hope its just the begining from him, missed his music so much.

    They have a big screen playing in the back of the stage during the concert of his life and there you were! You. On the screen.. a clip of you reacting to his new AI song. His concert with Randy and his wife Mary sitting on the side of the stage while all of his videos in the background were playing and James Dupre singing all his songs.

    This is healing not just for us... But for the FAMILY..... Seeing him happy in the studio shows me that he has the drive to make music... The haters can kiss my ass... Told one to not let the door hit them in he ass on the way out... He wants to make music.. To those who want to piss on it have a low opinion of him... He is a man of music and music is life for him.... Those that use Tobi computers often have stiff robotic voices... This song sounds so smooth and pure... It is Randy... The AI really captured the man.....Thank goodness..... Let the man make music.. No one has the right to tell him what to do... If he is happy then I am too.......

    CBS Sunday morning showed behind the scenes and they had another vocalist sing the song and they had AI layer Randy's voice over it. I loved your reaction, it was almost mirrored mine. I have zero problems with it used like this, or if an aging artist who can't quite hit that note anymore using it, but decease artist who's estates might abuse the AI out of greed would be where I draw the line. I also think in the credits it needs to say the artist name "Assisted by AI" just so those who don't want to indulge won't feel duped.

    That's a great explanation of the positive implications of AI. The technology has so many horrible ways it can be abused that it's easy to oppose it outright, but this is one example of how it can be used to positively impact the world. As my own mother suffered a debilitating stroke 2 months ago, my own reaction was an emotional one.

    This isn’t, or at least shouldn’t be, entirely AI. He has done stuff like sing the national anthem live since his stroke. I believe he sang this ahead of time and then they use AI to help improve it and make it sound a little bit better because his voice definitely is not what it used to be and he has a hard time holding notes steady. he came out with another song in 2021 as well, but I can’t remember the name of it off the top of my head.

I totally get what you’re saying about it’s a good thing because he’s not able to sing, but where does it stop? Are more artists going to go this route? How many computer generated songs will there be? Idk… I’m just on the fence about the whole thing.

    Being a Randy Travis fan, i'm torn on this. Yes, AI can very accurately replicate voices, which is also scary, but I hear AI making the voices sound nearly perfect and the imperfections(cracks, vocal fry, etc.) in various voices make them unique! This song makes his voice sound better than it was in 1986. It's like we're trying to play God......

    I can't describe how much I hate this. Not the song, the song is great, but the how it was made. This technology is so dangerous, what laws are there that give artists rights to their own voice? Next there will be a new album from a dead artist, then record companies will be releasing music from current artists without their permission, cutting the performers out completely. In this situation, Randy had very little to do with the recording of the song
