  • I review this premium resin printer to see if it replaces my current workhorse, the GK Two. Which is better?

Great review, if only it actually made that price tag a little easier to swallow. I really want a truly plug and play solution as little of the maintaining the 3D printer portion of the hobby as possible but that price tag still feels like too much of a hurdle when you can get printers that produce the same quality for 1/3 the cost.

This was the review I was looking for as these are the two printers I’m trying to decide between! Thank you!

Yeah, the slight improvement in speed and ease of removing supports is totally negated by the expensive resins, parts and accessories. Thanks for affirming that.

Great review. I really like the printer. I think it’s worth the money for plug n play printing. Greedy3D did a video using jamg he standard pro resin in place of pap10 and jamg he clear water washable resin in place of pat 10. With his limited testing he was able to successfully print parts with no failures.

Funny thing is, I'll bet if HeyGears created a basic profile for standard and/or tough Sunlu resins to print on their machine, that would probably be all it would take to tip the scales in favor of using their machine. Simply having a cheap resin option would remove a lot of the downsides to this ecosystem.

Yea con inability to tweak resin settings and smaller build plate. I have seen other reviewers show how they used the HeyGears bottle with similar third party resins and it worked well. Still the lack of settings access is a big con which will steer people away from this system (aside from the high cost). Thanks for the video - good review. Next video idea substitute HeyGear resin with third part similar resin and do some test prints. ;)

Just for clarity - ignoring price, requirements, etc - are Reflex prints better than GK Two prints?

I notice no discernable difference in clarity. I print both machines at .03 and at that level, don't notice a quality difference with either.

I think the one flaw in your test was the fact, the heygear isn't using the same light freq to cure as any of the machines that you can set setting on to my knowledge.

Yeah, I think you are correct.

@@gaminggeek241 To give you a update, looks like I found a much cheaper resin to use in the system that is basically a perfect match...possibly a hair more detail based on the tests so far.

No casting resin. Not so great.
