coulou's cafe trumpet meditations (no. 22)

hello everyone :) october is here and i am reminded in so many ways about why this is my favorite time of year. the marathon of spring to summer is coming to a close and i can feel the city starting to slow down. one thing i've found eye opening is no matter how consistent i am with these weekly meditation projects, this creative act never feels consistent. i thought that as the weeks went on i would hone in a more reliable system to bring everyone these meditations, and although the filming, mixing, and editing maybe have become easier for me, the twenty minutes i spend playing, and the time i take to write this little post have no reliable consistency to them. that's the human part of this project, the hardest and most beautiful part of doing this each week. i can try and develop all of the abilities and beliefs i want in this world and i'll still find myself standing at the same cliff every time i want to make something from nothing. there's always the risk, not knowing where you'll land, if you'll land. at best i get a little braver with each jump. all this to say that the ebb and flow of these projects are so embedded into the person i am and some weeks i really do struggle with these while other weeks these meditations come so naturally. this weekly pillar, twenty minute check in is something i am so grateful for. what a wonderful thing to be able to pause for a moment and just check in with how you're doing, good or bad, the power to change, to grow, to be happy starts with seeing yourself. just remember as you look at the gorgeous trees changing colors and losing their leaves that you don't judge them for turning into sticks for the next few months. you believe in the trees and you know that they'll bloom with beautiful flowers in the spring. the fleeting nature of fall is so tied to what makes it such a special time, enjoy it while its here and trust that it'll always come back again.
