  • There's a lot going on in this video! It starts out with us exploring the forest around us and Linda baking a delicious cheesecake in her Instant Pot. Then I get the ebike out and look for other nice places to camp in the Little Snowy Mountains. That same evening, we get hit by a major storm that nearly makes getting out impossible!
    Check out Magicycle's website: shareasale.com...
    Cheesecake for the 3qt Mini IP
    Crust:
    7 graham crackers, crushed
    1 TBS sugar
    3 TBS butter, melted
    2 tsp neutral flavor oil for pan
    Filling:
    2 pkg cream cheese, room temperature
    2/3 cup sugar
    2 eggs, room temperature
    2 tsp vanilla
    zest of 1 lemon
    1/4 cup heavy whipping cream
    Oil 6x3 springform pan, do the crust.
    Beat cream cheese and stream in sugar. Follow with eggs, one at a time, then add the vanilla, lemon zest and whipping cream until just combined. Do not overbeat.
    Add 1-1/2 cups of water to IP then put in your trivet. Lower pan in with foil strap. It's gonna be a tight fit. Pour filling into pan then hit Pressure Cook High for 27 min. Natural release for 5 minutes then remove cheesecake. Cool and chill.

    Getting out on the road is what Linda and I love to do with our converted cargo trailer camper. We're part time nomads and the nomadic lifestyle suits us to a Tee. Whether your RV is a camper van, camp trailer, travel trailer, motorhome or just a car and a tent, there's going to be something interesting for you in the videos we produce. Back roads and overlanding are part of what we do while exploring the western states for beautiful, peaceful and sometimes remote places to camp on BLM and National Forest land (public land). Taking care of ourselves as much as possible and doing our own repairs is a must because we travel on a fixed income and a limited budget. If you're into being off-grid and boondocking or doing dispersed camping whenever possible then you'll appreciate the discussions on batteries, solar panels and solar chargers or power stations and 12v refrigeration. Come on along, we're happy to have your company!

    Man, you have some great camping spots. You can tell people respect the outdoors and don’t trash it up there. A lot of the camping spots in Tn, are trashy and nasty unless you make a new one. Most have nails in the trees, garbage in the fire ring and ten foot out of camp is toilet paper everywhere. No respect for anything and if they could write on it they would do that. That warm pie of Linda’s needed two pats of real butter on it. Take care and really enjoyed your video.

    • @gonagain
      @gonagain  2 года назад

      Hello Willis! Not all of our camping spots are as pristine as that, and you'll see this in an upcoming video of ours, but regular Montanans are pretty finicky about their state and not trashing it. Hard for me to understand how folks can go out to enjoy mother nature and then trash it, but they do.

    Can't tell you how happy it makes me to see Linda getting to go camping again! And indeed it was a beautiful area. I've always been leary of walking on animal trails. The first outing I ever had here in Montana, 23 years ago we were getting wood and I and two of my grandkids were walking in the forest and we happened on a game trail. It suddenly struck me if deer can be on it, bear and mountain lion can too and we promptly turned around and headed back towards other people. But it does indeed make for easier walking. Loved that Linda found the antlers! Rare to find them both right by each other. And for as long a trek as it was out of there, the truck and trailer both looked pretty good 😊. And the pie looked great, but I'd rather have Linda's cheesecake. I'll try your recipe. Love that you can cook like that out in the wilderness! 😃 That was a really fun trip even with the ☔ Thank you for sharing it all with us!!

    • @gonagain
      @gonagain  2 года назад +3

      Hello Wanda, It's a known fact that bear and mountain lion prefer the ease of walking on trails and that's evident by the amount of scat that you see right in the middle! Children should always be out front and not bringing up the rear and you have to be vigilant at all times.

    Nice find with the antlers I have only found one at a time never both and I am in my 60's . If I was a member of your family I would be 800 lbs with Linda and your daughters cooking. I don't think my grand mother even known what a measuring cups was it was always a pinch or dash or dusting but man could she cook I miss her giblet gravy so much and her corn bread and oh what the heck everything she made I sure could use a bowl of her Green's right now. I think I would have stayed I could have gotten more water from the rain and I would have stayed and waited for it to dry out I don't have a 4wheel drive. Really that's not to bad I am use to swamp mud all over everything and you have to clean that right away or it will stain the paint. I watched this video a few days ago and was compelled to come back to comment. Firstly, always enjoy your gentle exploring and thoughtful commentary. Linda is a gem--but you know that. Now, you have already commented on the Sasquatch suggestions posted to your channel. And in the words of Les "Survivorman" Stroud, I would call myself an "open-minded" sceptic". (I suggest you watch his very compelling documentary research series about Sasquatch on his You Tube channel.) At the end of this video you take your bike out exploring and at one point, going down a side road, I noticed that you went by three trees in close succession off the left side of the road. All were the same size, broken at the same height, pointing in the same direction. If you are a believer, this is classic Sasquatch territorial marking. Like I said, open-minded sceptic. Always like to give a bit of thought to the "what if..." Thanks for your efforts in all your videos. 😊

    Another brilliant episode! That road out and your comment about adventure, reminded me of a recent foray along remote dirt roads. Had to do some self talk and remind myself that's what it's all about. But three hours of bad corrugated road did get tedious! Glad you two didn't get bogged, bet it was a job removing that mud.

Had a job but no place to live, had to stay at dinky dive motel as all rooms rented due to annual rodeo happening (who would have thought). Next day my car would not start as I knew nothing about block heaters and also had warm weather antifreeze in car. Did not get car back for 5 days, so had to walk around in -30 weather looking for place to rent. @@gonagain well, I was on my way over and I got lost, took a wrong turn and ended up deep in the forest, tried my whistle, but, it it made a sound like a wounded elk, a bear heard it and I had to climb up a tree, dropped the whistle on the way up, so I just puckered up and did a whistle on my own, that, got the attention of a bald eagle and it started diving at me, took my shirt off and whipped it at the eagle who fot a lucky shot and grabbed it out of my hand. The bear was still at the base of the tree, got the idea if I could through it off the scent, so, took my pants off and flung them away as far as I could to lure the bear away, no luck, it didn’t go for it, figured it was now in a better position for a meal now that the wrapper, clothing, was off. Good question and I have an answer! We used to set up an awning but found that we needed to take it down every night due to the possibility of wind. Nothing worse than having to get out of bed at 0:darkthirty to take down a noisy awning. We're usually camped in wide open spaces or in windy Montana.
