@@secretsoftexas6872 ive taken it upon myself to visit as many small tx towns this summer w my kids. Went to nacona a couple weeks ago w my parents, and they loved the classic cars. Glad your opening the eyes of people like me who would never know about some of these hidden gems! 👍🏼
How clear is it to see out there? Would love to take my kids to see it, i live about 60 miles from there (closer to dallas) but the light pollution is still pretty bad here.
Next time check out the Cliftex Theater, the longest continually operating theater in Texas. Also the artwork inside the Bosque Art Center is amazing. Olaf’s and Corner Drug Cafe offer fantastic food.
I knew nothing of Clifton before viewing this video. According to two DNA tests, I am 10-13% Norwegian. Not through Texas, but this is so much fun to connect it with Texas living and heritage... ❤️
Great video! I think a cool video idea would be you discussing your scouting process for finding these towns and places to visit. I'm guessing you utilize the historical marker database?
Very cool, didn’t realize the Norwegian heritage here. My ancestry is a good chunk Norwegian but they settled in Illinois, before my grandmother moved to Texas. One of the family names is Olson
Interesting! Had no idea about the Norwegian history! Movie theatre looked awesome! Reminds me of a VERY cool movie theatre in Canadian, Tx! Ever been? 🤔
@@secretsoftexas6872 might wanna check it out......wooden floors.....art-deco.....wanna say my buddy told me George Lucas or Steven Spielberg (one of the two) thought it had the best sound of any theatre in the country.
I look at the beauty of the stonework in the Rock Church [@6:31]. It clearly was built by [or the construction was supervised by] a highly skilled stonemason. And yet, it was built in the backwoods of Texas in 1886. Did they bring the stonemason with them from the old country [Norway], or did he come from soewhere in America? I'm gonna' have to research this ....
Visited last week. An enjoyable day visit!

Famous Texas artist George Boutwell is from Clifton. Check him out. You would love his landscape and old architecture paintings.
What a joy it is to be able to see inside the historic ClifTex!
Another great video. I love these small towns.

You should check out the Oslo community in the panhandle next time you are around.

Swimming pool in town
Swimming pool in cliftob
It's pronounced chassey
Population?
Clifton has about 3400 people
@@secretsoftexas6872 aww man thanks. That's awesome. I'm from Houston, but have half a dozen times lived in cities with smaller numbers like that. LOL
I want to say it's pronounced "Bosk".
I've heard 3 different pronunciations and so I used the one I heard most commonly
(A SNAFU) Pronounced in proper Texan: "baah-ski"
