Putting these unaired fights on RUclips right after the episode for all to see is a BRILLIANT move, well done Battlebots! Especially as they're in full production format with the intros, commentary, edited sound etc.
I agree. It is much better than putting it on Science channel or any other TV channel. The world have changed from regular cable TV to more the faster RUclips.
What astounds me is that I don't see any major tech companies participating as sponsors. For pete's sake, Udder Gun has done more than all the 'big' guys combined. Come on corporate america!! Where's the love?

@@mdouglaswray Off the top of my head, Lincoln Welders is a sponsor on a few teams and they provide professional welders for anyone who needs a quick repair on their bot.
Honestly think this fight was better then a majority of the ones we have seen on the actual episodes. But that's just me who enjoys 3min long fights that have some back and forth to them. Where a majority of the fights on the 2 episodes so far have just been a lot of one sided fights with quick KO. And then even the 3 min fights have been a lot of just one bot dominating like Sawblaze vs Minotaur and Rotator vs Kraken which both were still far more entertaining to me then fights like Blip vs Rusty, Mammoth vs Hijinx, Hydra vs Endgame and all the other quick fights. Only two fights that were long with back and forth to them so far like this fight. Were Free Shipping vs Blacksmith and Bloodsport vs Whiplash.
Normally the fights that don’t make the main show aren’t very good, but this was an incredible fight! There was a lot of great work from both teams on display here.

It makes you wonder how many fights like this never aired, and how many we were never able to see.
This was actually quite a good fight. I think Jackpots forks seemed like half an inch too long, as they didn't quite have the reach. But what an improvement.
@@flipflopping In general, the answer is "very few" - BattleBots have posted pretty much every unaired fight from the last few seasons on their social medias at one point and generally if a fight hasn't made the cut in those seasons it has been very poor, with often one of the robots not working.

And this is good to know, because as far as me and my son are concerned, we are fairly convinced that Battlebots is pretty much the best show on TV....unaired footage or not. SO enjoyable.

I would like to see the spinner with a little more reach, and the instability problem dealt with, but you are correct.....nice fight!
I love to see a practical minibot in use. The support from Ace, in my opinion, almost single-handedly turned the tide of this fight

Serious weapon power, tons of gyro, bouncy movement, long wedgelets, intermittent drive issues...Jackpot's reminding me of End Game from the past couple seasons here. Future prospects looking pretty good.
Problem is their weapon lacks engagement and just scrapes rather than biting in most of the time. But that's a pretty easy fix.
And yet it still takes a slight appearance of deathroll.
from what i see jackpot weapon have not much torque for it...they may rely much on mass and speed to damage the bot

Spoken like someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. The only thing torque helps with on a spinner is spin-up time. The kinetic energy of a spinning object is calculated solely from its RPM and Moment of Inertia, the latter of which is based on the mass and geometry of the spinning object. A spinner with a lot of torque but low speed and mass would be useless unless it was actually more of a non-damaging rotary flipper like Mammoth.

Ironically enough, the mini bot Ace is actually Tracer’s mini bot from last season 😂 Tracer and Jackpot decided to join forces this year and so far it’s paying off.
Razorback vs. SOW comes to mind, where SOW was at one point quite seriously immobilized against the edge of the arena... by its own minibot.

I really like this format, show unaired fights DURING the season so we know about all the bots status, instead of "wait, p1 is 1-0?" Also it's on RUclips worldwide so that grows the sport too
And the quality of these unaired fights are THE best, it's literally like taking a part of the show. Not just unaired fight with only raw sounds from arena, actually well-edited footage with faruq intro, music, Chris & kenny commentary, Pete analysis, etc. See if they can do chomp vs overdrive & stinger vs captain shrederator in s1, then they are capable of these unaired fights. I hope this is the new norm for future unaired fights.

Well played, Discovery. I was expecting this to be cut from the original episode for not being an exciting fight (like the previous Basement Tape format), but I see the complete opposite was true. This was awesome, a chaotic back-and-forth grudge match between two promising teams with a lot to analyze and break down.
First half of the fight is all Deadlift (not using their grappler configuration, interesting) as Jackpot seems to be getting stuck on its new wedgelets (not sure why they brought those back). Meanwhile, Needl... sorry, *Ace* is twitching all over the place and failing to catch Deadlift. I thought this was going to be a repeat of their first bout when Deadlift slammed Jackpot into the screws @ 4:52, which was enough to break their weapon last year but this time the hit was shrugged off. Deadlift seems to be struggling with control issues compared to how well the bot was dialed in at last season's Bounty Hunters (as is Jackpot), but they still have their rival on the ropes.
After Ace finally catches Deadlift @ 5:14 it becomes a completely different fight. Jackpot's double diamonds don't seem to be getting much of a bite but they gradually shred bits and pieces off Deadlift, culminating in their forks which more or less eliminates their ground game. We finally get some killsaw action this year to finish it off while Jackpot keeps rippin' and tearin' and throwing pretty sparks all over the place. A great showing from the hometown heroes despite a shaky start. I look forward to seeing how both bots improve and move on from this.
To right I recon this is one of the best fights Ive seen so far.

Finally, a mini bot that does something useful.
They always say that it's close, but really this time it wasn't.
Deadlift managed to get some control points because something was preventing jackpot from finding grip, but as soon as that issue was resolved, the match ended in 100% functionality for jackpot and major function loss on deadlift. Even with the revised system that's 5-0 for damage, something you can't overcome in a 'close' match in terms of control and aggression.

@@ryanamburgy2791 yeah, I posted my comment right after the first viewing of this match. After a second view I realized the damage was either 4-1 or 5-0 depending on how the judges saw it. Your right though.

It's because it's spinning too fast for a twin-toothed weapon. They're at the point where they need to consider switching to a single-tooth asymetric setup.

@@megaboi4683 Pretty sure it's just more the design of the teeth then it being twin tooth. Even if this blade was one tooth with the same tooth at the end I still think it would struggle to get a good bite. As it's kind of just like a small point at the end. Where if you compare it to something like Deathroll which has teeth that can get a much better bite out of something. As almost all vertical spinners have basically flat teeth that have much more area to get purchase on bots meaning much more force into their hits. The on advantage I see Jackpot having is that their weapon should be great for cutting belts. Which happened last season against Lock Jaw.

Honestly I think it may be better for Jackpot to keep it that way not only for the belts but so the weapon still spins while doing some noticeable damage because when they do get a complete bite, the spinner comes to complete stop or somewhat reverses which is a hassle to reaccelerate

I really appreciate seeing what would have been unaired fights during the season. All of the match ups are interesting to me and I much prefer to keep up on the status of each team as the season progresses.
This was such a great fight and thank you Battlebots for posting these fights instead of us hearing them in passing! Really wanted to see the rematch between these two and it did not disappoint. Was so cool to see a mini bot actually being useful and putting in some work. What I’m curious about in regards to Jackpot is if they fixed their self righting issue.. because last year they could only self right on one side. We didn’t get to see that here, but hopefully they resolved that. It looks like they were getting stuck on the floor for a bit, but then they came back and started eating into Deadlift. Despite losing.. Deadlift looked good and was able to go the full three minutes. Hoping they can go far this season!

One if the best battles ever! Mini bot went from zero to hero, both bots injured and fighting until the end, Jackpot with the from behind drubbing.. can't script it better
looks like Deadlift's frame got warped and could only have 3 wheels on the ground at a time. That's some brutal damage, and hopefully the boys were able to get it fixed in time for another fight.
awesome fight! Ace put in some serious work here! Without it, it unlikely wouldnt have ripped up Deadlifts wheels so early in the match. Sick fight!

I was curious about the rules for mini-bots so looked them up: "A Mini-Bot is defined as a small robot weighing no more than 20.0 pounds that is a part of a Multi-Bot set."
As for how many are allowed, there doesn't seem to be a limit ("A bot can actually be comprised of two or more MultiBots") as long as "only one of the bots is required to have a weapon" and "your bot (or combination of bots) must be able to start the match from completely within the space of an 8’ x 8’ square". I think the weapon requirement actually means that only one _can_ have a weapon, rather than all can have weapons as long as at least one has a weapon.

It has arrived. I really like this item.
The mini bot had turned that fight around for jackpot by jamming its wheels. Because deadlift put in a lot of damage that slowed jackpot down in the beginning of the fight.
