At last a mobile alternative to Ferdi/Franz/Rambox that looks better than Disa, hopefully it does what Disa couldn't. And that's amazing that you get to speak to Eric, I loved the Pebble back when it came out.
@@PeteMatheson Started me too!! And your video's have been very helpful! I am now almost fully converted to the Pixel 6 Pro but with an iPhone 8 just to keep my watch going and for anything Apple related on the go (I don't often take it out). Loving the Pixel 6, lets see how long it lasts!
Kind of terrifying to centralize all of your social accounts into one proprietary, closed source application. One thing to breach to have access to your entire online social life in one swoop.
One Year Later: Beeper is now free for everyone (with an optional Pro version forthcoming) and anyone who subbed before this change gets the eventual Pro version free for life.
Hi Pete. I switched to Android years ago, but my new job is an "all Apple" place. I still have my old iPhone 4s in a drawer. Can I use that to make this work on my Galaxy S20? Also, is this something a very non-tech person like me could actually pull off, do you think? Be honest, lol. I really don't want to go back to an iPhone, but I'm not sure I can figure this out. Thanks!
Hi, I've been on the waiting list for many months now; and have even paid the fee to jump to the front of the line. 2 questions please- 1. Beeper exec was saying they were trying to find a way to use their own hosted server to relay messages instead of the customer needing to buy a MAC. By the date of this video, they still weren't able to achieve this? Many customers may not want to (or have the $$) buy a iDevice. 2. You mentioned it was better to use you iCloud email acct to contact your iMessage friends? So if someone with an Apple device texts non-iOS user for the first time, we'd need to tell them in return to switch their text to our iCloud email acct so as to have iMessage integration?
@@RobbieE56 Nice! Hopefully it'll all work well. Did they provide a way to route messages from their server or do you have to use like a MAC or iOS device?
@@PeteMatheson @ChuckE3 I just confirmed today that they are working on the cloud bridge though. So maybe it will be live by the time you get your invite code :)
Thanks for the review Pete. Any updates you can share about the user experience? Just switched to iPhone and I now regret if this product will be available soon for consumer use.
Got access to beeper today. You still need a phone number attached to the iCloud account, otherwise you'll be sending people messages using your email and vice versa. Which defeats the entire purpose.
imagine creating an app to bank on what others get for free.. and then have a EFFING waitlist. Never in my +10 years as a smartphone user have i seen a app with an waitlist. Garbage creators(the app creators not the youtube content creator)
Looks like it's too much of a hassle to be honest. If you have to go back to an app to start a new conversation, and then go back to beeper to continue, you may aswell use the original app lol
I got access to Beeper today but I'm struggling with sending messages through iMessage. I'm trying to send messages to iphone users but they still come back green. Do you have to set it up on a Mac? I only have a PC and don't use it very often.
i want to switch back to android (galaxy 22 ultra) and i saw this video and though well yea i’ll do it then so i can keep my imessage…but i’m not buying a mac to make that happen lol
Lost me at 10 a month , maybe 10 a year that’s way to much to chat to my friends already
I was thinking the same thing. I’m not gonna pay $10 a month lol
Faccctsss, I’d rather have a green bubble
I’d do £30 one off payment
It's free now
If it’s free now, that probably means they’re reading ALL of our messages 😂

Great videos Pete, so bored of iPhones and really thinking about making the switch, but I'm deep into Apple products.

@@ianbleach I wondering about that! Does my Apple Watch need the iPhone to have a carrier? Like how does that work?
You forgot to tell people you have to allow a foreign iMac access to your messages.

Does it only work on Android when your Mac is actively running and/or you’re logged into the same Wi-Fi network?

I paid in full to expedite things as well back in March, and just got my invite today.

$10 a month is too much I will just keep my iPhone

You are making really cool videos these days
It's free now but the waiting is so long.
Is it secure and safe?
Awesome tip. Thank you
Can I use it just for texting my apple contacts without having it use my Social Media chats?
yes
You really say $10 a month at the very end of the video 🤦🏻♂️
It's free now, they just changed it
This could run from an iphone or iPad?
Is the bubble blue tho
Still on the waiting list as of the end of August 2023.
is there any other free alternative?
There’s no link to beeper in your description mate

Fair one, I guess I'm looking at what should be the optimal working of the app. I suppose it will be sorted in due course.
