This funk beat's cruising at 85 BPM. Codename, "Picnic Voltage", It's got a classic funk feel, the hi-hat's are pretty busy with 16th notes and some syncopated barks thrown in. The Snare is doing its own thing, dancing around a two and four pocket. The kick drum's keeping it simple, hitting the one with a couple of quick 16th notes to help you keep your place.
I was thinking it'd work well with some choppy wah-wah guitar or a funky bassline. The beat kinda evolves as it goes - nothing crazy, just enough to keep it interesting. There's this one part where it switches over to the ride for a bit.
It's got a bit of that James Brown vibe, maybe some Tower of Power in there too, but it's really just my take on that stuff. Starts off with the kick a little quieter, then settles into a medium groove.
Anyway, give it a listen. Might spark some ideas for you. - Видеоклипы

You bet!
My man! Just got a new bass. Tomorrow we funky w this fat beat!
Nice, what did you get?
@JimDooley custom passive p bass w halo mahoganeck and roasted flame maple fretboard. Body was shaped from a nice thick African mahogany cuttingboard. It looks and sounds gorgeous! Black traditional pickgaurd. 2 knows vol/tone. A real fancy standard a guy was selling on CL. He paid $1400 to have it made and hardly play it. I paid $700 like new. The neck alone is $750. If you're ever in Portland Oregon let me know. I gotta DW kit
@@silkyb9869 Wow, that sounds like a lot of fun. I have to say, African mahogany must have been a terrible cutting board. It's much better as a bass. Haha.
