Celebration of St. Elijah Day and Russian Airborne Troops Day (English subs)

Report on how the Orthodox holiday "Ilyin Day on Ilyinka Street" and the Day of the Airborne Forces (Airborne Forces) in Moscow took place. The Holy Prophet Ilya is the patron saint of this kind of troops in Russia.
The holiday began with a procession on Ilyinka Street, where the ancient Church of the Holy Prophet of God Elijah, located in Kitay-Gorod, is located. This is the oldest temple preserved in this part of Moscow. It is the central temple of the Airborne Forces of the Russian Federation. The street on which it is located is named after him - Ilyinka.
From there the procession went to the Execution Ground in Red Square. A thanksgiving prayer was served there to St. Prophet Elijah, and then there was a small military parade of various units of the Airborne Forces to the sounds of a military brass band.
