As a member of the Patriot Riders we get escort from the police because sometimes our convoys can be large. Just makes it safer and easier. I once rolled with a group of over 200 bikes to escort a Marine that died in combat.

It's actually a permit to the state police department and they will escort any large group of people. Yes, the officers do get paid by the biker group, just like any other group that requests it. It is to promote safety so the group can stay together. it is safer that way. A MC group here in Oklahoma does it for their Christmas parade every year to gather toys for children in our state. They invite all bikers to join in and it is a huge event here in Midwest City. lots of people bring their bikes and all MC clubs are welcome. It is truly a sight to see.
