So if your air conditioner goes on the fritz or your washing machine blows up or your video recorder conks out before you call the repair man. Turn on the lights, check all the closets and coupboards, look under all the beds because ... you never; can tell there just might be a gremlin in your house.
Carlos Padrós The Gremlins Rag from The New Batch was supposed to have a distinctive New York sound, so yes they did use a full orchestra for it. It was supposed to make you think of Gremlins raiding Broadway, Radio City Music Hall, 5th Avenue, Brooklyn, etc.
Have this DVD, tribute to Jerry Goldsmith for his 80th birthday by the Tenerife Film Orchestra and Choir. Conducted by the great composer Mark Snow. Wonderful music!
The genius part of this composition - apart from it being a masterpiece - is how beautifuly it conveys the two-sided nature of the Gremlins. You can tell that the first part of the theme has a more "playful" tone, and in the second part with the string instruments added in, it becomes much more dramatic ..... exactly like the Gremlins. Both playful and disastrous.
Yes, but you can hear the very end of this performance here, where it picks up near the beginning of the "The Gremlin Rag": ruclips.net/video/hymTyyOxKAs/видео.html
Not even going to front, Gizmo's theme made me cry. The gremlins theme performed by an orchestra, is spectacular.
Try this one too: ruclips.net/video/3yxxSU0nw64/видео.html

I've never gotten over that last part - it always made me think, "what if?" & I still look under my bed lol
Cómo olvidar ese clásico.... Excelente interpretación
Beautiful and mental all at once. Pretty much sums up my 1980s.
Miss it
Now; He WAS a GREAT Composer. One of the best. This is so very nice to listen too. and i´m having problems sitting still...

It shows how much work is dedicated to the overall contribution of the whole thing!!
The Gremlin Rag theme at the end is great to hear with a full-on, aggressive orchestra! I prefer this to the synth vocals of the original recording.
Gremlins 2: The New Batch had an orchestral version of the Gremlin Rag too.

DouglassRobert I thought it was the version from the 2nd movie at first
The orchestration here of the rag is from the score to the sequel. It's identical.
Which makes sense that they would use that existing orchestration rather than doing all that work for this performance.

The Omen performance there is quite spectacular! Diego Navarro really goes into one, looking almost possessed by Satan himself at one point!!
Man, the way the gremlins rag builds, I got fucking chocked up.

The way the camera pans over the strings at 6:05 gives me chills.
Extraordinaria interpretación de esta pieza musical icónica de los gremlins!!

6:06 was great with those strings. Never noticed before.
This brought a nostalgic tear to my eye.
Totally awesome. I love this piece.
I'm no musician, but the amount of notes on the sheet music make it look damned complex to play.
A true masterpiece.
Greg Lyris agreed
so beautiful every note :) I love gremlins so much
Strings at 6:06 are pure goosebumps
Rand Peltzer loves this
amazing!!
やっぱり、グレムリンは良いなぁ
This makes me want to be a conductor.
Splendid performance!
Is that Mark Snow (of X-Files fame) conducting? Looks like it

It sounds menacing
Why do those people keep looking back?
They're watching for their cue, their turn to start playing from other players, maybe the percussion.
Or maybe there's a Gremlin.
because Billy has a glass of water and a wicked sense of humor
Ja Foo Foo Gaming Gremlins are coming for them
I read this comment and now I keep noticing all of different people looking back throughout the video. Weird!
A-Aaawsome!!!
