1 - It's a personal preference and also depends on the player that you're up against (if you fight them frequently) I suggest you try baiting them then critting em since it's the safest bet. 2 - Depends on the player that you're up against, when you're low "staps" and the "3 blocker" are gonna be your besties since you can make the player miss then start a combo off of it. But you gotta be really precise when you time staps since you can easily be hit (you can also run obv but i feel like its pointless if you are playing for fun)
Hit selecting is fun cause a lot of the time when you try it, your opponent tries it themselves at the same time, so you just end up walking through each other what creates this awkward situation what lasts until you are far enough that you can start comboing them. This might just be me tho or the opponent getting confused on why you're not attacking

The 3 blocker is pretty risky as it requires you to have relatively low ms to pull it off so most ppl won't take the risk so you can't land it every single time. I'd say turning around or jump resetting yourself out of it, cuz if you stap and go for a crit you're gonna end up getting 3blocked/combo locked right back therefore you should turn around instead of stapping.
