Okinawa Americana completed their debut tour of Australia in March 2023. They performed a total of 18 shows across Victoria and New South Wales. This included performances at The Vanguard in Sydney, to a sold-out crowd at the Jazzlab in Melbourne, and at the South West Conservatorium of Music in Denilliquin. They were a hit in major regional centres and were invited to perform at a corroboree in the Mallee with indigenous community members and local musicians. Okinawa Americana launched the Cultural Diversity Harmony week at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne performing for patients, staff and their parents.
David toured with a Cole Clarke FL2EC-BLBL-HUM guitar and the trusty Wazinator. Merry performed on both the traditional Okinawan sanshin and ukulele. Both of these talented singer/songwriters look forward to their next tour to Oz.
