Nobody will be like Eminem. Hence, any cover of his pieces will always fall short. The only way to get past that is to deliver it and interpret it your way. From a listener point of view, we sometimes have to separate ourselves from the original delivery and listen to it with an open mind.
I agree with your observations though about the seemingly lack of passion in the first verse and the rest of the differences. These are valid points to surface from critical point of view.
However, I think it was a smart decision as it conforms with the stylistic approach that Gigi is famous for - gradual buildup. It’s what makes her covers appealing. She slowly loops you in and next thing you know, you’re deep into it.

I hear what you're saying. I do think she was doing this stylistically, slowly building up intensity from 1st to 2nd to 3rd verse, bc that's what she does when she sings. One reactor described it as "singing rap". That's what I like about her,, she does things her way. When I 1st heard this, I thought it was ok, but as I kept on listening to it, it grew on me. Now I can't stop listening to it lol! She doesn't do the punches like Eminiem (altho on 3rd verse she did hit it harder), but I like it bc it gives me another flavor, from a female point of view. Everyone related to Eminem when this song came out (since we've all had toxic relationships not just with spouses but families & friends), but this resonated with me more bc I'm female. There's a femininity & vulnerability in her delivery which I've never heard from rappers b4, even the female ones. I have more song requests, see below...

Im here because of Gigi of course thats a rap and not singing song its hard to rap when the lyrics is not your mother tongue do you know what i mean coz this song I've practice this 2 years to perfect i can sing both Rihanna chorus and Em verse its hard to micmick that em verse but Gigi Rifs the bars thou.
