Voice training is no joke. Trans women who opt into doing it learn some serious skills. Personally, I trained myself about 20 years ago and most people can't tell it's not cis.
When I go back into my old range, though, I call it "demon voice" because it's a whole octave lower and looks like a disembodied voice coming out of my face. People's reactions are absolutely hilarious.

Being able to pull out the extra voices comes VERY in handy, especially being a singer/actress. After a week of calls at all hours of the day and night from the same spammer with different spoofed numbers, I decided I'd had enough and told them in the most fem voice I could muster that i would curse them for their misdeeds. I immediately dropped into my bass range and sang Elphaba's spellcasting chant from Wicked. They hung up QUICKLY. I got two more calls from them feverishly praying at me in Hindi, then never heard from them again. I felt so vindicated in my acting skills lol

Opera singer here. I can speak and sing in all of those ranges. It has to do with the high/low position of the larynx in the throat and where the “focus” of the air comes together. Moving this around takes a lot of internal focus and muscle control but, like anything else, becomes natural with concerted training and practice.
I made a lot of progress once I thought of my voice more like a horn - longer tube, lower sound, and vice versa. Your mouth is an amplifying bell.

Transitioning to a masculine body and being unable to comfortably interact with small children (especially girls) has got to be very hard. I'm not trans (non-binary, AMAB), but this is something that bothers me every single time I'm around my friends' daughters. I don't even know if this is something any of them are worried about with me, but it's always on my mind when I'm around their kids. I try to never be alone in a room with them. A friend's daughter asked me to read her a book in her bed and I felt so uncomfortable.
It probably doesn't help that I was sexually abused as a child by more than one person and my dad abused my sister after I moved out and the whole family covered it up.
But yeah, it all makes me think a lot about how bad our society is as teaching men how to interact with and be around children.
I'm sure you have one or multiple videos about your experience with masculine expectations. If so, I'd love to see them! I'd be very interested to hear your take!

Mmmmmhm. I'm probably not going to be here after May but if I get this same life to redo, the ONLY things I'll change are I'll transition sooner, socially like immediately damn my grandpa's cruelty that started when I was two, I'll also pick some winning lotto numbers for my grandma who would 100% say that money is mine, and I'll invest it all in stocks and THEN I'll BUY the state of Utah, kick all the conservatives out, and make it into an LGBTQ+ paradise! Im a trans guy but I'm hoping to do some voice training too. My voice is going to change on T but I want to make sure it sounds natural, but I also want to get vocal super powers. Why shouldnt I be able to do the e-girl/anime voices just to troll people?

Trans girl here I have 4 voices on deck it sucks and is awesome at the same time. Can confirm the bass boost of a deep voice is really funny sometimes though scares a ton of people. So be warned vocal training required but dam it can be fun to go extremely high as well lol.

Okay I have to shoutout Wendy Carlos who's a transwoman and quite the important figure in music history that few people know. So before we got electronic music as we know it today it all used to sound like Stockhausen, very avant-garde, very much just making interesting sounds and calling it music. So no one really knew what electronic music could be. That was until Wendy Carlos enters with one of these earliest Moogs or whatever synths existed and she records a bunch of Bach pieces on the synthesizer, the album's called "Switched-on Bach". This was in the 70s I think. This blew everyone's mind and expanded how people viewed the synthesizer and really made it more accessible for normal people to just play melodies. In other words, we have a trans woman to thank for Crazy Frog 😂😂😂 No but seriously look up Wendy Carlos she's played an important role in electronic music history, yet most people don't know she existed.

That first guy with the hogwards legacy is the best :3. None of the transwomen music sound like that I have listened to but my pallet for that is kinda odd I only know of a few trans artists in general, and in my experience most trans men I know use to be into skateboarding and listening to blink182 and metal most the trans women I know also listening to blink 182 and metal. I use to be a skater and there is a lot of gender noncomformatity to that. What turned me trans? I am kinda weird and was forced into a gender role, and because I was forced into something I am not I pushed back and woke up and realized I was this way all my life and just hid and repressed it to people please and just try to be normal when being normal is overrated. I was married when I came out my partner claims to be supportive but every chance they get it feels like they weaponize everything to try to use against me to try to tell me I am not trans and put me down even going so far as to say anyone with a kid who is trans is just faking it. Oddly had a kid despite me having many intersex traits and when I got my hormone levels checked both E&T were at 200ish and I had a issue when I was a kid with my reproductive organs one died and after that my parents gave me a bunch of meds and told me they were all for my ADHD and I now highly suspect they weren't. I can no longer pull off the deep voice and listening to 16 year old voice it was deeeeeeepp I only got 2 voices on deck. Someone smelled the they on me a long time ago at my last job before it even snapped with me before the egg broke. The egg definitly cracked it was cracked but it was repressed. Repression sucks you can try to hide yourself to keep yourself safe till you feel safe.

Lol I know trans women who LOVE to pull out the deep voice unexpectedly. Btw Ty you probably can still pull out the lighter voice, you just have to remember to resonate it higher like you used to talk before you were able to access the lower resonance of your video range.
I can do it sometimes cause muscle memory and my brain can go there really easily to the right place.
Sometimes lying down helps me. You're resonating closer to your teeth and the front of your mouth.
In my case in pretty much constraining all the sound to be IN my mouth, almost closing off resonance of sound from the throat. Idk if that makes sense. Maybe I'm doing it wrong though lol. But it resonates higher and more forward in the mouth as opposed to chest.
It's more conscmtricted and restricted rather than relaxed. There are even apps that help with that but the important thing is resonance, not pitch.
And here I am, a trans guy explaining feminine voices lol. Hopefully I'm doing it right. I too would like to be able to switch lol.

Learning to talk differently wasn’t too bad for me. RUclips videos helped a lot. But after 4 years of “girl voice”, I still can only reliably sing in the basement. Think the scene from Pitch Perfect after Chloe gets her nodes removed and she drops the bass. And yes, while frustrating sometimes (like when I wanna do an Avril cover), it is absolutely one of my favorite party tricks.
