    Great work Sean - your framing plan is working out wonderfully. You deserve a high-five as well because it looks like you are having to cope with compound angles and surfaces, nothing is straight and nothing is square. I'm sure you are looking forward to the day when you are seated comfortably below, with a cuppa in hand admiring your job.

    Sean, you're getting closer to enclosing the cottage & I can't wait for that! The kitties are so sweet & of course mischievous... that's the fun part & at times the frustrating part. But, they are endlessly fascinating! Stay warm & Happy holidays to you & your sweet family!! 🇺🇸

    I put up a wall decal a couple of years ago that said “Joy to the World”. Unfortunately, one of the cats removed the j, so my holiday greeting read “oy to the world”. My visitors were quite entertained.

Sean, your skills never cease to amaze me, All the details that you have thought of and are going to put into place. The cottage is taking shape, bit by bit your vision is becoming a reality. Well done. Love from N.Y.

    Sean, you should consider using drywall(gypsum board, plaster board, whatever it's called in Europe) instead of OSB. I like your plaster(rendering ?) idea, but plasterboard would be a better substrate for lime plaster. Since there is no structural requirement for this wall, you will probably find OSB to be both overkill and overpriced. Just something to consider. Keep up the good work!

    • @Seans_World
      @Seans_World  18 дней назад +17

      The osb is required to give a strong backing to attach the infill plasterboarding to, then it will be lime plastered.

    • @Helen-l3i
      @Helen-l3i 18 дней назад +5

      Good idea, or could you use the boarding that is used in showers, then wouldn't have to worry about water damage, just a suggestion.

    My son put up shelves on his walls for his cats. They love to climb and be up high plus it is great exercise for them. You just put them close enough that they can go from one shelf to the next at different heights.

    • @James-f6f5g
      @James-f6f5g 12 дней назад

      That's very interesting. Knowing the shelves are for the cats to climb on only and not for books or display , I'm not a cat person but that makes more sense.

    In the US we had a PBS show called “This Old House” which aired on Saturday afternoons along with the “Victory Garden”. Back in the 70’s I watched those show with my dad (sometimes my mom also) faithfully, and when I got married I watched it or recorded it to watch with my husband. Your videos give me a small sense of those days and sometimes brings tears to my eyes when I think about my parents. They passed away a month apart in 2018 but the memories are good and strong and your peaceful way of speaking to us is wonderful! Thank you! ❤

    I am guessing your solar power won't extend power to use a small heater then? or an eco flow? I agree closing off the wall even temporarily will help keep you warm while you work. I look forward to all the plasterboard being on gives a sense of how it will be as walls will be going up as well for the WC or bath and bedrooms. I am so glad your kittens are inside another channel I follow their chickens were taken by a pine martin so many predators in the countryside :(
