Remarkable. Those Giants with Bochy at the helm, were somethin' else. Brings tears to my eyes. It was my early to mid 20s out of college, and just amazing memories watching baseball and enjoying life.

And got a ring for his effort. As a Cards fan, it still stings to watch that final series clinching HR. I watched it happen as the game was broadcast live. Absolute dagger in the heart of our postseason hopes. But that game 3 ending error was what killed our season in all honesty

Never forget the role "umpire" Angel Hernandez played in that game. But for his biased (corrupt?), clearly-refuted by replay erroneous call against the A's that summer in Cleveland (ruling that a tying HR in the 9th was only a double), the WC game could have been played in Oakland, as one more win would have given them home-field advantage. Every game makes a difference in MLB, not just playoff games.

4:22 - I was at that game 2 vs. Detroit. And I can’t tell you how awesome it was to have the Orioles get to the ALCS again after so long. Knocking on the door. The electricity in Camden Yards was insane. It’s a shame they didn’t spend the necessary money in that offseason to retain some of those players and build around them to go for it again, they were so close. They did make the playoffs again in 2016, but that was the end of the window. The following 4 years were brutal and the fans left because the owners didn’t pony up. The fans are there. They are returning a bit now. Please don’t be cheap asses anymore. This young team has another window opening in a year or so, and will be open for 4-6 years. Don’t blow it. Baseball is better when teams like the Orioles are great again.

I know a guy who did a highlight film for the entire SF Giants post-season run; he had a nice little tribute to Oscar in the warmup circle before making what turned out to be the Cardinals final out of the NLCS. (As an aside, Giants' Juan Perez was a good friend of Taveras' and found out the news of his death shortly before hitting that 2 RBI double that was almost a HR.)

  • @IDGAFWTFMNI

I started watching on TV at AT&T Park in the front office and watched probably through the 6th before I had to go and me and my mom listened in the car in our way back to Oakland. We get home around the 8th inning and my friend meets us there to watch and watch a few innings at home before going to get food at the restaurant a block away cuz we had no dinner ready. We get there, eat, and end up staying there for hours more and they let us stay past their closing hours to finish the game. Idk if I’ll ever see a game longer than that ever again

that nlcs has to be one of the greatest of all time (even thought I hate both of those teams). Walk-off home runs on both ends, pinch hit home runs on both ends, walk off error, a home run to win the pennant, all around a great one. It would've been better if it went for longer, though.

Would have liked to have seen the Panik glove flip in WS Game 7 or his first postseason HR in NLCS Game 5, but if you included everything the video would be an hour long and you'd probably run out of music. :)

This right here proves that you don’t have to be the best team in the league to win the word series. Both these teams somewhat struggling during the regular season and both managed to get win in the wild card. Now here we have both wild card winners facing each other in the World Series . All you need is determination. The will and strength and come together and work S a team to get what you want . And SF won it all.

Madison Bumgarner in 2014 has to be top 2 best single postseason any pitcher has ever had. I would say that it was even better than Hershiser's performance from '88. He logged more innings, a lower ERA, and a lower WHIP. The only one that I would argue to be better than MadBum is Curt Schilling in 2001. 4-0 with a sub 1 ERA in the height of the steroid era and helped lead the DBacks over the powerhouse Yankees.

I know this is pretty unlikely but you gotta believe me, that one throwing error from the pitcher determined the cardinals winning the nlcs or not, if they won the series would've been at 1-2 and that changes a lot, this is coming from a giants fan because holy crap did I forget this happened
