  • Hi everyone,
this is the very last video about building Les Cordia. The name comes from the two inspirations for this build - the latin plant name for ziricote and a certain other guitar type that has two humbuckers. The build took me about 4 months + a lot more in editing the videos.
Thank you to all who watched the series! A special thank you also to both of you, Alex', as they've supported me with various ideas through the planning stage and helped me a bit with the final shots!
    Enjoy the video!

I love the recess along the middle, such an interesting detail, it made me double take. Lots of cool details going on. Great stuff.

Thank you very much, glad you like it!
The recess is kind off inspired by the live edge river tables, as they also incorporate the broken edges. But ... I dont like to work with epoxy, especially on a guitar

@25:59 the wood looks like it's moving under the sander. Very cool build and an amazing level of effort!

The attention to detail is wonderful. A great build.
Can I ask what material you used between the body sections to give that pin stripe detail?

thank you! it's a stack of veneers: the black parts are 0.6 mm poplar, the thinner outer strips are 0.3 mm maple and the two middle white ones are bleached ash
the last one is a bit of a hassle to cut with a knive and a bit of a struggle, as the grain lines run very deep in the ash so it's not the smoothest surface and if you look closely on the real guitar, you can sometimes see gaps. Stick with maple and poplar veneers, they are more fun ;)

No, it's Ziricote, a mostly middle american species
