Hahahaha love it! "Irrational sense of compassion " me too!!! 😆
Wow i love the way the spath looks in semi hydro. Please keep us updated on this one. ❤
I absolutely will SueLee!
You do such a good job of picking containers for your plants. The end result is always so pleasing!
Thank you Eileen! It’a a learned skill, I made the wrong choice a few too many times before, haha!
That's a beautiful orchid...you have a great guy!! I love watching you repot...you are so explanatory in what you are doing! Thanks!!
He’s the most wonderful man! Thank you, i try to break everything down as much as possible
Need closed caption please
I have this one. Mine are planted in fairly large pots. Short and fat is the best. I use about six inches of leaf mulch on top of the potting medium. One part sand, one part peat moss and one part regular dirt with two inches of leaf mulch in the bottom of the pot. The grow rather quickly n the shade near the hives. Great bee food and a nice garden to boot! These plants love shady porches too!
Some interested in seeing your ground orchid in semihydro! What a great idea! We have them here all over S. Fl and I love them! Can't wait to see your monthly update video to see her progress! Happy growing Michael!
Thank you for watching, Maria! I’ll keep you posted ❤️
I haven't seen anyone potting these terrestrial orchids in s/h before. I am super interested to see how this one works out. Keep us posted! P.S. your hubby must be a real sweetie if he surprises you with unexpected presents like this one.
I’ve had some good experiences with terrestrials in SH, I’m hoping this one goes equally well! And he really is the sweetest, most thoughtful soul ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Michael,
I wanted to know if your pots are in glasses and how you make your holes. What you use to drill the holes?
Thanks for your reply.
Daniel
Good job! looks so much better in that glass container. Maybe it would be worth experimenting with a semi clear glass, I mean green or brown tinted, to see if algae grew less in it? I will look out for one myself for the next time I pot an orchid.
I’ve heard that suggested before! I don’t see a whole lot of semi-clear glass, but I’m keeping my eyes peeled...
you're right, it's one of my less useful suggestions!
Haha, not at all! I just don’t see much of it while I’m out thrifting for containers! But it’s something I’m looking for 😀
Hi! Very nice plant! Looks nice in this vase). Happy growing!
Thank you Svetlana, happy growing to you too!
Hi Micheal...just stumbled on your ground orchid repotting video and loved it!! I have got my first 3 ground orchids and found your video super helpful. Loved your beautiful home and gorgeous philodendron in the background!! Have become a fan and subscriber. Look for to more videos

Your husband is so wonderful, I'm so happy for you, congrats on beautiful#42. Also yay for 1000 subscribers!! Aren't those spray bottles of hydrogen peroxide the best? CVS has them too. I'm looking forward to watching your new orchid grow. Enjoy 🌸
He is truly the best! Thank you, it’s a gorgeous plant and I’m so excited. The spray bottles are also life changing!
How is this one doing in s/h? I knew it too be a terrestrial orchid.
It’s struggling with its transition to be honest, I’m a little worried. But my Paph and Jewel orchids which are also terrestrial are loving it. I’m hoping it pulls through!
Terrestrial orchids haven't done well for me in S/h
Looks like a bowl of spaghetti👉👵👈💜
Tell me about It, this root system is insane
what's that orchid? haven't seen it yet...
It’s called a Spathoglottis, and this is the first one I’ve ever seen at a garden center. Apparently they are super common in Hawaii and the Philippines, but It is very new to me!
It's awful to clip flower spikes but saw a cool way to make keikis from just the spike and moss. In this instance with mealy bugs probably not the best but in the future as a project
Tell me more about this process or send a link! I’d love to learn more
Hihihihi, from a week,I was like i m not going to buy any orchids, not a single one,but today when I see vanda pachara delight on my online store, uhhhhhh I can't resist it,and atlast ordered it..,🙄🙄....want to kill my self one day...

Can we say Roots Roots!👉👵👈
I sure can!
Sweet husband.
He’s the absolute best!
