RE: Your recent night fishing video. Wow! that was a nice bite! With no light!! That's a long walk in the dark. Maybe they hear (vibrations in water, lateral line) the wigging swim bait in the dark. You fished the bay side and not canals?

Didnt know I turned off the comments for that video. It's not too far of a walk. One of the more accessible sloughs to fish it you know the area. Only in this particular slough, I'll fish the Bayside and not the canals.

I've viewed aerials of that area and walked from maybe Winton parking out that way; worried about safety of my car. But the trail/pathway was great. Northern more entry looked better but parking was more remote to water. Do you ever fish the Dolittle bridge/Harbor View ferry area or the San Leandro Marina pathway? @@wellthoughtoutfishing1534

@@ronmodafferi8202 cars are generally safe there. Thieves are usually hitting up BayFair. I've fished at veterans pier and around there including the bridge. That canal between bay farm and Alameda is good for stripers when the tide is moving. Yes I have caught stripers at the marina also, but not as consistently. I usually avoid those area due to the crowds.

@@Tight_Lines_Uce Always nice to see the regulars there. It's pretty hard getting a keeper off the wall. Everyone goes bonkers whenever anyone manages to. Haha Thanks!

I'm new to halibut fishing but really want to learn all about it. Any chance you'd be going out there to rockwall or in Alameda? Would love to learn from you. Thanks!

I'm gonna try to head there at least two more times before the end of this month. I'll let you know. The halibut bite has already significantly died down, and with the summer, there's even less chances of getting a keeper. Just setting up your expectations.

Well was it there at the end by 530am today. Lost 2, one probably to small the other felt life a ball of seaweed till it pulled back. Had weight, but popped off,of course it hit on my back up rod with a softer tip, and couldn't get a good hook set. Trust me, I cussed repeatedly

Glad you got bit. Sorry you didn't hook up on the big one. I know the feeling. I get skunked 9 out of 10 times whenever I fish the AWR. Keep at it, you'll hook a keeper eventually.
