On the afternoon of 911, my oldest son and his friends from High School stood on the top of High Tor. They wanted to see with their own eyes what happened. That’s when my son decided to enlist. My Husband and I signed the paperwork, because he was 17.

The word origin of "TOR" starts in ancient Greece- meaning Tower. Then from the Welsh meaning Hill. Then Old English (alt. Spelling - Torr) meaning a hill esp. bare and rocky.
High Tor = A High Bare and Rocky Hill. Thanks WOT.
