Remember going to timberview with half of these cats back in 2010 & 2011, i remember the lot of them being really talented group of individuals back then. Was very shocked to hear them make it all the way this far. Very happy for my fellow percussionist and former percussion teacher. You guys are amazing.
Watching this in 2023. My son was on drum line. I am so proud of him. He will be a pilot very soon. This was a spectacular, flawless event. Little biased.
As a freshman from another band that year watching Finals, you're not lying. This was a revolutionary show to me. I never watched another show after that gave me the same energy this one did. If only your band director hadn't left to TCU!!! I only know this cause he was an alumni of my high school lol It was only y'all's second year in existence too! I genuinely think you guys would've at least medaled before moving up to 6A.
As a dancer of a drill team from another school. I remember playing Lakeridge in a game and after performing on the field, watching this band perform. I was so taken away by the talent of every single one of youguys! You guys definitely put my band to shame and taught them a lesson haha! im so proud of youguys for getting the opportunity to compete in Orlando Florida! Amazing job!
Oh gosh just decided to watch this again and I almost cried. We put in so much to this show and we got tenth. Before you say that's bad it's tenth best 4A band in TEXAS. There's probably close to hundreds of bands and it's us, the second year newbies, who get to be tenth. It's us, who got to go to San Antonio against so many odds. It was us who got to play our hearts out for all those people. That was us.
Congrats. I was playing there too and we only got 27th, but I'll take just being there, considering we were the first band in the state of Texas to make it to state in its inaugural varsity year :)
This was a sick show. And you're right, just even making it into finals at 4A state is a massive accomplishment. But this was one of the most memorable shows in finals for me. There was Muse, there was music from Signs... And the drill design was crazy demanding, far above any other band in finals. I hope to see more of your band in the future.
JQuoix Oh HECK YES this was demanding drill. As a flautist (flutist???) I gotta say the worst of it for me was the beginning of the fourth movement after the transitional drum break where we were all running like crazy (fun fact I accidentally got hit in the head by the rifle tossed during "movement 3.5" at about 7:03 during a rehearsal) and RIGHT after woodwinds get a feature. Band Director kept saying "LOUDER woodwinds! LOUDER!" even though we pretty much ran our hearts out to get to our sets and such. I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and honestly I loved doing the show while it lasted.
im from the vista ridge band and i have to say that this was one of the best shows i saw from 2013 :D that drill looks super super challenging and the execution was insane!
Technically yall weren't a newbie band because lake ridge got built and half of my school timberview left to go to that school and that took most of the band from here. But now they are graduated so it doesn't matter anymore.
I wanted to see it again, cant believe i'm in in this anymore, i love it, the most beautiful sport anybody can do. That is if you ask me. Miss all you guys terrribly, even the color guard drama, but it was all worth it, to make it to finals!!!!!!!
I'm from north forney, going into junior year. I have to say, out of all the bands, this had to be my favorite. It was just complete greatness. Seeing y'all at midlothian, blew me away. Seeing y'all here. Just wow. Best drill of the year. Hope to see y'all more.
@@thewayofway1 "Madness" by Muse. The other pieces used in the show were a combination of parts from "The Rite of Spring" by Igor Stravinsky and "The Hand of Fate Pt. I & II" by James Newton Howard from the movie Signs.

I remember them at UIL after we had performed... I was intimidated as HELL. I love the movie Signs!! That color guard moment made my head explode 7:45
This was my favorite performance (next to Boswell's) of that day.
hey thats pretty good

What music was played in the second movement?
A little late, but it was "Humility & Love" by Christopher Young used in the soundtrack for Creation!
