    These are worth every penny. $120 is still an automatic buy for me. The one I have out of Nevada, is one of the best bottles I've ever tasted.

      I agree and I hope to get a bottle of the rye soon as I hear those are great as well!
      Have a cool weekend and cheers ~

    For years Stagg Jr was the ultimate (findable) bottle for me. It was a great experience, but these Frey Ranch store picks have kicked Stagg aside. They have an unbelievable nose, mouth feel, flavors and a finish that goes for days and keeps changing. I pick up everyone I can get.

      Hey Marty! Frey Ranch store picks are fantastic! And now that they are much more "findable" as well as they have the non-store pick farm strength version, it is a buy for sure~ Thanks a ton for your view and comment! I super appreciate it and cheers~

    David,
    Just sampled this and on top of your great nosing notes I also just got a hint of sweet butter cream frosting when I sat here a shall we sat "Snuck up" on it.
    Thanks

      Hey Dana! Sweet butter cream frosting is a great pick up! I just had to have a pour to see if I picked it up and I do get a hint of that creamy goodness. You have a talent for this and I need to catch up to your level! As always, I'm so grateful for your view and comment. Thank you as always and cheers!

    I picked up a Frey Ranch Single Barrel store pick. First time I tried it, it was hot and funky tasting. I tried it again a week later and let it open up more. It was much better, but still unique. 🥃

      @WhiskeyBank  Год назад

      Mr. Dave! For me, that uniqueness, or the funkiness, is what gives it that edge over other bourbons. Everybody's palate and in this case, every single barrel is different, but I really liked that "funkiness". I respect your comment and that's why I gave it a "hold" or "try before you buy" as I don't think the price and allocation will be worth it for everybody. Thank you so much for your comment and view! Once I reach a 100 subs, I got a surprise for you! Thank you so much!

      I bought a bottle for $100. It’s too hot and grainy. Very young with the predominant taste being ethanol with som licorice. Not a good bottle

      Frey Ranch Batch #12 Farm Strength has a quite over powering mustiness and wet hay in both the nose and palate, try before buying. Quite disappointing.

  • @ptrd5945
    @ptrd5945 12 дней назад

    Great review. I tried batch 10, got a hay & musty note, not palatable for me. Definitely hard pass for me.

      It seems the single barrel selects are definitely better than the "batches" of the Farm Strength and uncut versions. I'll have to try the batch farm strength soon to see what the difference might be as I heard some people say they get that note.
      Have nice cool Sunday and cheers~

    I picked up a bottle right off the Vegas strip for around 90 and I was blown away. I definitely wouldn't call myself a bourbon lover, but I definitely love this bottle. I'm lucky since I'm on the west coast and recently saw this at my local total wine. Gonna be picking up another bottle for sure and am also curious about their rye, as i would definitely count myself as a rye lover. Great review, hope it inspires some MBs to give it a try

      Hey Bluupadoop! This bottle is fantastic and the allocation is getting better as I am seeing it more often in June than I did all of last year. I am trying so hard to get a hold of the FR Single Barrel Barrel Proof Rye, but I believe it is a distillery only release (or very limited release) and I just can't even find one in the wild at secondary prices. I'll have to settle for their regular rye until I find one (which is also good). Thanks a ton for your view and comment! I greatly appreciate it! Cheers!

      @@WhiskeyBank I'm hoping to be able to make a stop at the distillery sometime in the near future, cause I'm hoping that barrel proof rye has that same 'funkiness' that I'm personally really loving in the bourbon. Here's to hoping their allocation gets better sooner!

    • @WhiskeyBank
      @WhiskeyBank  Год назад +1

      That is awesome! I'm hoping to visit there someday. But if you get a chance for the rye, let me know how it is! Thank you again and cheers!

    I got a heavy butterscotch note off mine, which was awesome. Nothing funky and mine wasn’t hot. Amazing and would 100% buy again

      Frey ranch barrel strength is a super pour and fantastic flavors. Only downside (at the time of the video) was that it was so hard to find. Now they have the farm strength uncut version readily available at around $80 so if I did this today, it would definitely be a buy! Thanks as always for your view and comment! Cheers ~~

      Hey David! Great name! Frey Ranch Single Barrels are hard to find as they are a small distillery, which is unfortunate. But from what I'm seeing, the availability is getting better so hopefully you'll be able to find it soon and enjoy it like I did! Thank you so much for the comment and view!! Cheers!

    Hmm. My local Total Wine just got in the Frey Ranch Bourbon and straight Rye. If I see the store pick I’m hoping they have a sample of it. Sounds good but $100 to $120 is a tough stretch for me. I’m hoping it lands at $80. Another enjoyable honest video.

    • @WhiskeyBank
      @WhiskeyBank  9 месяцев назад

      Hey Dean! Welcome back my man! It is good, but if it's above the $80, I would wait as it seems their distribution has improved greatly since I made this video and they have non-store pick "farm strength" uncut version, which is very similar to the one I had. Also, the regular frey ranch is going for around $40 in my area so that would be a good pick up until you see the $80 version. So grateful for all your support!! Thank you so much and cheers!

    Great review. I ordered a bottle of their uncut famrers sadly it still hasnt shipped and I ordered it for Black Friday. Still looking forward to trying it in January.

      Hey Sigurd! From the time I did this review, the allocation has improved greatly now with the non-store pick "farm strength and uncut" version coming in at $80 in my area, I would probably upgrade this to a "buy" rating now. That said, I hope you get your bottle soon you can check it out for yourself how good (or not good) it is and see if you agree with my review! It is a great bottle to have and try with other four grain whiskeys!
      Thank you so much for your view and comment! Greatly appreciate it and happy holidays! Cheers~

      Thanks for the update! It is certainly much more available now than when I made this video, which is good news! But next time I'm in Orange, I will stop by and see what they got.
      Have a nice cool day and cheers~

    Order it from the distillery. They will send it right to your door. $59 for the 90 proof

      Hey James! That is true! You can now order from their website and the Uncut Farm Strength version is available on their regularly as well. At the time of the video, the Uncut version was not available on the website (or anywhere else) and it was hard to find. You'll see in one of my "buy more or never more" videos that I do address this and change my rating. But thank you for letting people know where to get this wonderful bourbon~ Thank you for your view and comment! I super appreciate it and cheers!

      This is the ultimate love it or hate it bottle due to the Nevada "funk" that I like but others don't feel it.
      You should try their ryes as I heard they are amazing!
