Fjord Kali To be fair that's how most people know him by. People who aren't that familiar with the Mega Man series probably won't know who X is unless you say "Mega Man X" but yeah I understand it can get annoying when people say "Mega Man X" and I'm like do you mean the first game? The X series? The character X? I just call him X but if I'm talking to people not familiar with the Mega Man series I'll call him Mega Man X.
His full name is Mega Man X (Or MegaMan X, sometimes the space isn't there). You see it in some cutscenes, the character select, and dialogue boxes. X is just a shorter way to say it, and thus is the name more people use and are more familiar with.
They don't call him the super fighting robot. That's what they call megaman not X.

Sounds kinda similar to the logic used by copy X in the Megaman Zero games.

I don't know why the X8 character models weren't well received. They look kickass. I especially liked the fact that they trimmed the characters boots / feet. It looks more streamlined.

i have a problem with Zero's slim ponytail. why would he have switched the shampoo? it was working well for him before.. otherwise i didn't mind, and actually Zero looks better than he did in X4-X6, he was too bulky.
Well the whole point of the X8 models was to show a sort of midway progression of them upgrading themselves to look more human-ish like how they looked in the Megaman Zero series.
A Shame we never got a Part 2 for this.

I'm pretty sure Shane did work on RWBY's Volume 3 fight scenes tho...
Plus, some of the fights in volume 3 (especially the ones with Merc) were pretty amazing.

Yea, I think he did, but the new system they used was less smooth, or at least without monty the fighting wasn't as breathtaking as it used to be.
I've been watching this same video for 9 years. It's still by far the best Megaman animation I've ever seen.

X must have a crazy amount of stamina to last all those fights. Also, Vile's death must've been PAINFUL.

+8-bit maniac X isn't a Reploid he is a Robot. Reploids are robots based off on X's design thus making X the father of Reploids. X and Zero are called Reploids in the games so it wouldn't confuse Players.

Man, you can feel Monty's influence seeping through the whole thing. I didn't realise that it was produced by Rooster Teeth.
Good job guys, I hope that his legacy will continue. Maybe one day, Shane will be able to breathe his own personality into his works. Afterall, it just feels weird for Megaman to not be shooting his busters more often, but fluid hand to hand combat assisted by long range ability is something Monty love.
But I must say I love the camera anles. The tilted camera makes anything that just seems otherwise normal, suddenly feeling action packed.

he basically wanted monty's wife to be included and the story to be continued as close as monty envisioned it.
Roosterteeth decided to make their own story with the material though which hurt shane a lot.
they also implemented standardized working methods in which shane couldn't get into a good workflow - things every artist knows. In my opinion yoh have to give the good artists the freedom of working in a way that they think is good - and not the company thinks to be effective. This job and inspiration is absolutely left-brained and imaginative, and you can't force it out in a strict controlled rational way. It's not the rational, nut the imaginative side of the brain that usually leads to these kinds of animations.
he has also received a lot of critique for this letter when he left after season 3 - especially because season 3 was overall well received and people didn't get what he complained about.
I think now they do however. Without shane and with roosterteeths "own" story now, everyone realizes rwby is not the same anymore.

You seem to have lots of martial knowledge because you animated the punches and kicks so smoothly and in a realistic way...
I know that because I can replicate in real life every single move you used and the mechanics are absolutely the same. I was amazed by how smoothly the spinning hook kick and the 540º roundhouse were animated.
Did you use some fighter or martial arts star as reference? I'm pretty sure this flying back kick at 2:06 is Donnie Yen stuff.
Megaman X is an eternal masterpiece, but I personally don't like their "slim" design upgrade in X8.

I really, REALLY hate how people think the original megaman music would make this better.... is that like... a joke? The music is meant to cooperate with the movements and all. The music on here just makes everything more badass.
Word, I loved the music on this one, it gives it a very Intense action mood. To anyone the replies to my comment, I'm not saying that Original Megaman music would suck, I'm saying that the Original music wouldn't fit the action in this animation.

dragonballcrazyboy to be honest I like the music done here because it is very nicely done and moves well with the video. That being said however, I have seen a lot of remixes of the Mega Man music that would just make this that much better. Especially around the Zero vs. X parts, ect. Not saying that the other music really should be changed though because the first battle X goes through, that music is just perfect, but perhaps some sort of middle ground would work nice

It's a small world, but we actually corresponded a bit about animation when you were on deviantart, shortly after you released this movie. I was an aspiring gamey person back then in school for art and animation. Megaman X has always been my absolute hero so this was always amazing to me.
It might not mean much and I hope it doesn't cause anything untoward, but I also believed and supported you with your open letter about Rooster Teeth and Monty Oum. I appreciate the gravitas of what you went through. I haven't kept up or heard anything about them or you since but I hope you are finding fulfilling things. No need to reply. I wish good things for you.

Just freakn' awesome. All the characters act as if they WERE in the real world. Even though their faces don't move, that's not to say this is the best fanaimation EVER.

This fanimation is something that Capcom could never do if it was not for their own heinous greed, their own dreadful neglection against Keiji Inafune's dreams for the Megaman franchise(Especially ruining his intention ending the X series with X5 by creating X6 without his consent), & their own mishandling to the supposed face of their company(Especially for making the absolute worst move ever to the franchise like the cancellation of 2 major Megaman games of 2011 like Legends 3, not putting the Blue Bomber in MvC3 games, giving him heinous fat Bad Box Art design in SFxT, & worst of all abysmal Rockman Xover). FUCK CRAPCOM FOREVER! This fanimation along with Megaman Unlimited & the Blue Bomber's playable appearance in Super Smash Bros Wii U just proves that Megaman fanboys & Masahiro Sakarai can do better than Crapcom's recent business crime. I just hope Keiji Inafune would see this. He should be proud of Shane Newville for this fantastic work of his.

Taylor Grant I thought I already know this troupe. I thought Keiji Inafune wanted the Megaman franchise to be the long-living flagship franchise of Capcom. It was the heart & soul of that former great company. But after Keiji Inafune left the company to forge his own path, Capcom started killing their supposed face of their own company by making the #1 worst video game franchise mishandling ever in history especially for the cancellation of the Megaman Legends 3 & making the #1 worst video game anniversary ever in 2012. This abysmal murder of the Megaman franchise commited by Capcom left Keiji Inafune feel really sorry for his own fans it's the reason why his 2 spiritual successors(Mighty No. 9 & Azure Striker Gunvolt) existed in the first place. These new games will succeed what Capcom failed to do in the past!

Well maybe that's because Capcom ruined his dreams of the beloved franchise especially making X6 without his consent which ruined Inafune's intentions to end the series with X5. It's proof that fanboys does what Capcom don't especially Masahiro Sakarai adding the Blue Bomber into Super Smash Bros 2014. Oh really? If he didn't care about Megaman then why make Mighty No. 9? It's basically Megaman with a new spin on it. In the Mighty no. 9 documentary Inafune even said that he still loves Megaman to this day.

The animation also puts a lot of emphasis on X's character as well.
X never uses his charged buster on the enemy reploids. He mostly uses his fist to knock them out.

To be fair Xand Zero are super powered ever evolving godlike androids while everyone in RWBY are just normal humans with weapons.

X and Zero are far above anybody in RWBY, so of course the action would be better.
