I agree with everyone saying Xur needs a big discount, considering before we could just buy his stuff so easily, unless coins are guaranteed from public events this is just another rare currency. 140 for a catalyst is robbery man. Maybe Bungie thinks we’ll amass a lot of coins, but let us get them first, worry about the hoarding after 🙄
its only 71 coins for one catalyst, and considering how little some drop (or in my case the fact that he can drop crucible catalysts) i think its worthwhile
also unfortunately the max cap for strange coins is 99

Clarifications from the video I've noticed:
- The Days Before ghosts quests are only one-time completions, with set rewards for specific quests, always cycling to the next specific set of quests, which always finishes with a single quest left that gives a deepsight harmonizer.
- If you get the Strange Favor, it also resets the duration of the buff back to 11 says, in addition to stacking (up to max of 3). This was confirmed in the 06/13 TWID.
- According to the description of the Strange favor, it only gives a chance of an additional coin per stack, so it is not a guaranteed coin, just a chance. Probably 50/50 is my guess.
I guess I'm lucky as hell then cause I keep getting bonus coins. Last week when I first got the buff I was getting 5 coins a strike and now I'm getting 6 with the level 2 buff

i can confirm that my extra spent tokens, last week, counted towards this weeks coins spent!. i only had to spend 21 coins to get the buff again.

With nightfall being double loot, and with the stranger favor, I'm getting like 14-15 strange coins each night fall, you can farm nightfall and coins, and keep spending the 1 coin thing if you bought everything you want, and keep ranking him up over and over again, it's been good to get crafting materials and exotic engrams

I don't like the Currency change. I had plenty of Shards and Glimmer to just buy whatever I wanted from Xur. Now I have to grind for Currency that doesn't drop from everywhere with a low quantity per drop. I'm happy Xur offers more stuff, but I don't wanna grind for Strange Coins.

I've read that the Xur favor buff is kinda bugged. You get the buff only on one character so you need to choose on which character you are going to farm the coins...

The best way to actually farm coins easily and quickly is by launching the devils lair strike. You get 4 coins per run, which takes around 6-8 minutes.
What i want to know is since he sells artifice armor, can the random legendary armor engram give artifice as well
I'm sure someone has said it but the strange coin buff doesn't just stack, it also refreshes the duration of the buff
You can also do this week's Nightfall, its pretty easy even on Master. With 2 people we were doing almost 15 minute runs and getting 10 Strange Coins a run. Obviously with the 99 cap though it's pretty overkill, cap should be higher or at least have Xur just be perma.

Onslaught gives you progressively more per 10 waves. It starts out usually around 2-3 at wave 10, but usually ends up being 4-5 for waves 30, 40, and 50. I usually get 20-30 per onslaught run on normal.
oh ya btw the buff only works with the character that you buy it on I was on my hunter (i mainly play warlock) just to see what he had and now I have to use my hunter to get any use out of the buff.
I tried NightFalls, onslaught, Crucible, normal Strikes and even Dares this past week. Gambit was the only place to give me ANY amount of strange coins consistently.
I play Vanguard consistently and I get coins every time.

Everybody keep in mind at the way ranking system works is you have to buy things so like for one of the tears you have to buy 11 things from them to level up well the strange gifts count for one so you spend one coin towards those 17 you’re only spending 17 whereas you may try to let you know focus it into the armor and spend more coins if you’re trying to get the rewards from his rank up then buying the strange gifts that cost one coin or actually extremely lucrative and very good.
Its more worth it to get the thing you want from xur first and then get the buff unlees you already have it
you can probably stack buff 3 times if you do the first just before reset and the third just after the 2nd reset

Is the xur favour character based or account wide? As the buff doesn't show on the rest of the characters....
I'm not sure if that was a bug or if it was one time only, but when I did the FS campaign and I had to do the strike as campaign mission I got 17 Strange Coins from this one strike. I have not yet done that strike again so I'm not sure if that was because of it being part of the campaign or what that was. I had not done anything else that gives coins except that one strikes.

the other thing is if you get xur favor you get 6 strang coins
Onslaught is 2,3,4,5, and 6 at 50. With the favor I got more.
Best method i currently use is, constantly run the devils lair, with a decent team you can get through it on average in 7 minutes i have 2 of the favour of the nine buffs on so its 4 coins from the strike then another 2 from the buffs i can get almost a coin a minute with this method 😊
I heard a rumor if you buy favor of the nine and have that buff active. It would refresh the time on the first stack letting you have 3 at a time? Is this confirmed true or false?

Nightfall is leveled at 1995. Not many players are even close to that yet.

This can get even better I just went to the Inside Terminus and because people leave I dropped straight into the boss fight scanned the Ghost and the boss died 25 seconds 14 Strange coins 🎉🎉😂
I got two legendary Equipments from strange gifts in a row on the first try
They don’t stack in that way, I did mine last week and this week it just extended the timer didn’t give me more coins after mission it just added a new timer on top of the one I had
The sad thing do a grand master and get 22 every run
Bought it again this week on another character... NEW buff.... this is so dumb that it isnt accountwide because you can only buy it once accountwide... why not have the buff also accountwide. Now i have to do it another two weeks on another charakter ( my main ) to have him buffed up

Actually, there's a better, faster, and completely free alternative.
Go farm devils pair strikes. It can be done (not even speed running it) in less than 10 minutes (my average is 7 minutes, and my personal fastest was 6;43) and provides 4 strange coins each run.

if you claimed strange favor on 1 character, you can't pick it up on another character, and the buff is character bound.

There's no need. When you buy a new one, it actually refreshes the timer on the first one. It only ends if you don't refresh it each week
That's how you can have up to 3 active at once since they last less than 2 weeks
This was confirmed in the most recent TWID, which is nice, as if you keep up on it every week, you will always basically have a 3x buff.
You forgot Dares of Eternity, I think. They also needed that activity greatly, so you only get 1 Strange Coin per completion or defeat of the Treasurer, instead of 3.

If you can only hold 99 strange coins the buff is pointless. While finishing my cipher quest I maxed out my inventory on strange coins, and still had several strikes left to complete.

You should do a video on glimmer. I keep running out, without shards this is starting to get annoying. I been farming it all this week and i cant seem to hit max anymore. Played game for 3 hours i got 30k.
Public events that have you stop the glimmer drills are a pretty good chunk of change if you defend the glimmer pile.
IMO the cap needs to be raised, kinda silly that you want to spend 47 a week but we max out at 99… I’ve probably wasted a couple dozen strange coins from activities bc I was at the 99 lol
just spend them then?? it doesnt take a genius to realize you can spend them to level up xur, you can farm exotic ciphers that way

@@masonhurley9713 point is your hitting the cap, if your playing that much then you don’t need to be worried about “wasted” coins. You don’t need to stockpile a bunch because if you use em, you’re playing enough to get them back.

He shows up by Ikora, but still only on Fridays-Tuesdays. He will be a vendor waypoint on the map when he comes back.
