      Congratulations! I’m sure you will be there for your students success!
      A good CFI is one with integrity.
      If you plan on using this as a springboard into commercial be honest with your students ahead of time…
      I’ve had three within 34 hours.
      It can be devastating to some students especially if they need to be dropped for immediate employment elsewhere!
      Honesty goes a long way!

    My check ride is Saturday. Your videos have been helpful and entertaining. A short trip to fly with LewDix just might be in my future. Just bought a Grumman Cheetah.

    Eek that "below 110, flaps 10" gave me some PTSD. Don't miss flight training! But I just chose to keep having to do more and more in the military 😶

    I trained on Beechcraft Sports and Sundowners (pretty much same as Cherokees) and I felt the same way about Cessnas until I figured out how to make them awesome.
    Put floats on them.

      @@LewDixAviation After 100+ hours, I finally got my first checkout in a non-Cessna today. An Archer. Okay, fine. You’ve been right this whole time. The Piper really is the better flying plane. 😭

    Proper 172 procedure for landing is: after landing, taxi to the FBO. Put up a "for sale" sign on the aircraft. When you get the cash, use it to buy a real plane like a Piper Archer.

      its just how I was taught to handle the controls in the pattern - hand always on the throttle. *shrug*

      Yea as Rick said it’s to make sure the throttle is full (max RPM) throughout the initial climb phase. Also during landing so you can adjust RPM.
