Congratulations! I’m sure you will be there for your students success! A good CFI is one with integrity. If you plan on using this as a springboard into commercial be honest with your students ahead of time… I’ve had three within 34 hours. It can be devastating to some students especially if they need to be dropped for immediate employment elsewhere! Honesty goes a long way!
My check ride is Saturday. Your videos have been helpful and entertaining. A short trip to fly with LewDix just might be in my future. Just bought a Grumman Cheetah.
Now I want to bring my 59 182b down and let you show me how to land it. 😉Really, I do want to set something up with you, eventually. Rick did a great job. Can't wait to see what you have lined up next. Thanks, Lewis!
Thanks for immortalizing me in a LewDix Video!! Do I just wait on my celebrity membership card to arrive in the mail, or do I need to register online? ...had a BLAST! thanks again for the help!!

Hi from Milton Keynes, currently 5 hours into PPL at Cranfield. Wonder if I can convince my wife a disney land visit / instrument rating with you would be a good idea.
Dude, I would come over there to Orlando from Germany just to spend some time in the traffic pattern! What an experience. Would love to, really. Ever welcomed the sky wizz a German on board? 😆
I trained on Beechcraft Sports and Sundowners (pretty much same as Cherokees) and I felt the same way about Cessnas until I figured out how to make them awesome. Put floats on them.
@@LewDixAviation After 100+ hours, I finally got my first checkout in a non-Cessna today. An Archer. Okay, fine. You’ve been right this whole time. The Piper really is the better flying plane. 😭
Proper 172 procedure for landing is: after landing, taxi to the FBO. Put up a "for sale" sign on the aircraft. When you get the cash, use it to buy a real plane like a Piper Archer.
@@LewDixAviation it does., i wish i could fly with you as well in the CAP cessna to have you help me with my landings..but you are not near me, and they wouldnt let you fly in it.

Glad I can finally enjoy your videos again, been studying like crazy for my cfi initial. Passed it on the first try saturday!
That’s a huge achievement! Congratulations!
@@LewDixAviation hoping to bring your energy to the skies sooner rather than later🤞
Congrats!! It’s really rewarding being able do it on the first try given the pass rate. I know how it is did mine in February

Another hand crafted experience. Every student is a co-host. Quality.
Only the best here at LewDix Aviation!
flying with lewdix is definitely on the bucket list.

Nice! Good luck!
Ahh, the wonderful Ce-esna 100 & 72, that fine Italian aircraft!
That’s a throwback 😂
@@LewDixAviation that comment was from ‘moustache man’, just shows up as my wife’s RUclips account!
Should be down in Orlando around September, I'll have to catch up with you!. Moving onto IFR training now!

That would be cool! Thanks man!
I liked watching you with your subscribers!
A lesson on landings! You can’t watch too many of these…. Good ones, I mean…. 🥳

Where are you located?
Hey Lewis! After watching those landings maybe it's time for a little "Welcome to the Ground"!!! :-)
I’m going for my CFI checkride in 2 weeks, any tips of the trade?
Hi from Milton Keynes, currently 5 hours into PPL at Cranfield. Wonder if I can convince my wife a disney land visit / instrument rating with you would be a good idea.
Great video. I guess those Cessna engineers designed those planes to fly. Go Cessna! (1/2 owner of one.)
They are the nicest boats at the airport!
That old BGSU Aviation Cessna!!! I'm happy they switched to Piper Warrior/Archer/Seminole
They traded up!

How I get a landing lesson serious inquiry
Eek that "below 110, flaps 10" gave me some PTSD. Don't miss flight training! But I just chose to keep having to do more and more in the military 😶
I love pilot self-talk.
hahaha... one of these days i'll have to come down and do that..... it's like the cessna version of "jim'll fix it" :D
😂 yea, apart from the crimes that Jim committed against innocent children, pretty much the same.
@@LewDixAviation yea of course, that withstanding,.... could be worse... could call you zippy :D heck.... or even bungle LOL

@@pacadet THANK YOU and goodnight
Which flying eyes sunglasses are you wearing?
Kestrel Aviators mirrored sapphire lenses
@@LewDixAviation Thank you!
That's how you finish! :P
If he was a true fan, he'd have used flying eyes code LEWDIX
Great video man
Thanks man!
Lew, you should do a BGSU old plane episode...with Cessna N781BG and Warrior N280BG!!! Ill come up from West Palm Beach to do it with you
Be legit!
I can't believe you'd bad-mouth the Skyhawk! Need I mention that it has TWO DOORS???
Too bad you can't open them both at once! LOL jk ;)
Ayo we have one door but it has TWO locks to make sure the passengers freak out in an incident, so…
Must be nice to have such a long runway. I am currently learning on a gras runway with 1600 ft
Oh cool!
@mueflo What would be harder landing during crosswind on a 1600ft grass or 1600ft tarmac?
@@mistercap5725 I don't have too much experience on hard surface runways to say
I know that feeling when noone else is around at the airport etc. "What do they know that I don't?"
Three most important things about landings, speed, speed and speed :)
and the anchor in the 172
It’s so quiet out today… Oh look! A pair of F-16!😂
just dial 7500 and they show up.
It would be great to see you visit my home airport of X50. My compliments on the videos, long time subscriber!
I've never been there. It's on the list! Thanks man!

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Great video! How about a video flying with a female pilot? I would be happy to volunteer!
challenge accepted... lets see the "i can run 33knots " HAHAHA
It would still float

Tommy Thomaason does it too.
Yea know a real ground loop is when you try and land with the parking brake on lol😅
Would you come to Indianapolis,IN to help me in flight training? You seem to be a real likable and fun person.
Ah thank you.. I can’t travel to IN but I appreciate your kind words
First!
Yes!
Why is he holding the throttle?, Not going anywhere, not moving in & out.
its just how I was taught to handle the controls in the pattern - hand always on the throttle. *shrug*
Yea as Rick said it’s to make sure the throttle is full (max RPM) throughout the initial climb phase. Also during landing so you can adjust RPM.
Great video, still wondering the name of the annoying youtuber
Gareth🤭
Hahahahaha
