This deep-sampled orchestral strings collection pushes boundaries delivering both traditional multi-sampled sections as well as a gigantic collection of sound design and loop presets. NOVO allows users to tweak, process, layer, and sequence similar to the workflow of the developers "Gravity" line of virtual instruments, but with this top-tier string sample set, this library takes flight and soars!

Thank you for taking time to do this, first look but still a very comprehensive review of what NOVO has to offer!
You are welcome. Thanks for the support Olu!
My best purchase of the year. Loops are fantastic and cycle is UNIQUE !!! ! Great review !!!
Cubic Dalek agreed. Pretty outstanding sounds and tools. I find myself utilizing this library often
Incredible powerfull sounding strings and so much possibilities to use this library. Thank you very much for the review!
Schattenfaenger you are welcome. Always a pleasure to share the first look!
This instrument is a beast. Thanks for giving us a good idea of what Novo is capable of. Was going to leave it as just another gimmicky bit of software, but you've changed that.
Very glad the first look gave you a better insight into the library. Thanks for the comment and the support Kolinu2
+Kolinu2 you are welcome. Glad the first look was helpful and thanks for the comment and support

Lots of sounds to play with in this one :)
Preston Stringham lots indeed! thanks for the comment Preston.
Can you consider testing the new heavyocity vento? I would realy like to see more than the videos from heavyocity itself.
Hey Andreas, I am going to download soon and will try to get to it this weekend.
@@SampleLibraryReviews Great I am looking forward to see it. There is no video yet, except from heavyocity itself - which only shows a very small part of it. I realy want to get a better impression about the various sounds / loops / etc.
Great review, thanks a lot!
You are welcome HiddenNatureNL
Great first look thanks.
The only possible way to get this was through monthly payments but unfortunately sweetwater didn't have this so instead after a lot of research I ended up purchasing IK's PhilHarmonik 2 and I am pleased to say I'm satisfied but NOVO is on another level for sure ✌
Rezwan Khan it is a considerable investment, but after just the play through I think the huge amount of content and quality justify the developers asking price .
Sample Library Review Absolutely, no doubt about it. Recently purchased the Morphestra 2 and Heavyocity's Gravity can't wait till I get NOVO and then it's WAR TIME 🔥🔥
Any thoughts on how this compares with NI's Symphony Series?
Hey Sunstereomusic,
Thanks for the question. The 2 are very different libraries.
NI Symph Strings focuses on being a foundational library covering a vast majority of commonly used articulations as well as some divisi scripting were as NOVO, although with some basic foundational articulations, has strengths in extending far beyond with it's hybrid engine delivering textures, rhythms, atmospheres and experimental sound design presets and functionality.
Were as one might use NI Symph Strings as their main foundational library, most composers will find NOVO to be a gigantic arsenal of additional timbres and tones with the hybrid dimension it offers. That said I really love the sound of the NOVO basic articulations, it just doesn't deliver the complete set of main articulations I need to make it a complete foundational string library.
so the legato isn't much?? like no port or gliss? i hate that. its 2017. for that amount of money every library should have a legato as good as LA strings had 7 years ago!!!
50% off.. I almost got it. Only 5 years too late.
def not worth half a grand.
It's 349 right now if you want to pick it up
£240 at this very moment......absolute bargain!
Depends on how easy it was to get the half a grand
The overall sound of all the samples (traditional strings, loops, and string designer) is awful. That is my biggest complaint. I have used them, but I have to layer the parts with better sounding string libraries. In my opinion, this is only good for inspiration. The full loops are extremely busy, repetitive, and anyone who pays can have them... so I wouldn't want to use them to chain out a piece. Instead, I demo the phrases to get ideas, then play them with variations and better samples from a different product. I hoped the string designer would have been more useful, but it's just OK. I'm finding that I prefer my orchestral strings to sound like strings, not synths with tons of processing. It just doesn't do it for me.
$549.00 for this piece of crap? sounds really awful
Lol show some respect for the makers, people spent probably a couple of years+ making this and subjective or not, the sounds here are very nice and unique.. also high quality. You call this a piece of crap just cause you're uptight about the price lmao. If you know anything about Heavyocity, you'd know they are all about inspiring you to go above and beyond. The main instruments are really like a bonus, the string designer is the real piece of equipment here and imo its coolest feature. I will Agree though that $549 is a lil too steep.
With all due respect, Anton's right. I own this product, and it sounds pretty bad. The fact that they took probably years to complete it and had access to a top studio with top players makes it that much more of a disappointment. I didn't pay full price because I own other libraries they make. But even then, I feel cheated by the horrible quality of these samples. These are big boys and we're paying them good money. I don't think we need to be nice about critiquing their work on this product.
It's a bit overpriced but it's certainly not a piece of crap, nor does it does awful
@@AchannelA maybe I should stick with CCS or cinemati studio strings 2
thump thump thump. Get someone that can play a keyboard.
