This anime literally changed my life. It's what got me to finally start exercising when I was just starting high school. My self confidence started increasing and I wasn't such a chubby kid anymore. I related to ippo a lot being picked on and all, but through will power, consistency and motivation he became someone so strong and inspirational. Favorite anime of all time and will forever have a place in my heart! 💛💛

I grew up with a friend obsessed with anime. Personally, I never really got into anime: there wasn't an anime I liked/identified with. Hajime no Ippo changed all that. I love this anime so much, that the opening song brings me to tears. Such a great Anime!!!

I had my first sparring match recently. We listened to a bunch of ippo songs, and i actually won! 2nd round it was too much for him so we called it quits. So excited to keep going and to find out for myself what it means to be strong

Opening 4 is pretty awesome too..... Honestly what am I even saying. All of the openings are great.
I don't know why but this song hits the right spots for me, even more than inner light.
Same for me. Under Star always gave me a Rocky-era underdog vibe.

For me it's because it represents the start of the journey and while inner light makes you want to push while you already are in the journey.
You get a nostalgic feeling listening to Under Star since it reminds you how you were at the start, why you started and it makes you want to continue to push.

My biggest downside is that i overexercised myself recently and got overwork sickness and headaches lmao, and even now that I need to rest my brain is saying go jog or do some push-ups, do something. My insatiable lust for exercising and padwork is now a slight hinderance, but I gotta suck it up and rest. Rest is equally if not more important than working.

This anime changed my life
I didn't think that I'd love this series as much as I did. The fact that Ippo is so humble and is able to find friends/mentors that encourage him, is so nice to see. Much like Rocky, I just can't help but root for the guy. This song alone has been helping me battle with depression. Keep swinging.

I also get picked on in my class so I relate to ippo. I also have more determination because of my father and he and I workout together and he and I will train when I get to be the age that I can join

The earlier you can get in a gym the better, it's not like it's dangerous to be taught techniques. Some Thai boxing champions are in professional bouts at the age of 8 and even younger, so don't be afraid to get to work. Offer to mow some lawns if money is the issue etc.

Used to box from 06-13, love this anime makes me miss going to a boxing gym and my boxing buds from back then.
This anime is not just a story, it’s a way of life, its way to somehow capture what it means to be human, to be happy, sad, angry etc. this show actually brings me to tears sometimes, I had to learn kanji and Japanese just so I could continue the story with the manga it is a work of art . Most slept on anime of all time. I’m blessed to have lived to see it.

I'm actually drinking a pre-work out while listening to this, this anime and it's music always gets me pumped up for an amazing workout which is mostly calisthenics, boxing and using a sledgehammer,which I got inspired by ippo from when he was showing vorg his hammer workout for his back, which does actually WORK!!! 💪
