I love that the whole crew forgot that Prudence can spider-climb.... and it's not like she was out of spell-slots, they specifically had a short rest before they went into the last room. I swear it's like they all use "shroedinger's spellbook" - no one ever knows what abilities or spells they have until someone else looks at their character sheet, and I'm all about it lol.

I'm increasingly expecting the Lilliana redemption, but am also completely ready for the backstab. The more redeemed she is, the more heart-breaking it will be. Also, they seem to have forgotten they moved all their funds to be Giovani's hoard in Mist Mire.

Adding moments of vulnerability to what was previously a seemingly inhuman force of nature is always a great bit of characterization. Liliana being gripped by a sense of terror and her freezing up when faced with a vision of her death were standout scenes for sure.

Hearing Johnny forget to introduce themself at the beginning honestly sent a chill up my spine. I hope nothing that scary happens again this episode! Edit: Nope it got scarier. Those tapestries were horrifying! Really loved this episode. Literally gasped at the final dice challenge (no spoilers, but if you know, you know). Can't wait for the next one!
It must have taken a lot of courage for Dob to admit he'd had a crush on Liliana from afar, but it must have taken even more self-restraint from Liliana to not point out the first time they properly met he was serenading her from about six feet away. 😂
I'd like to congratulate Johnny because everything from the moment they entered the dining hall was so desperately unpleasant! Kudos you magnificent bastard that was horrifying. Also, frankly, that was the most vibes I've felt from Dob and Liliana so far and made me want this ship to sail once more.
Lol, I thought Prudence's tapestry would be her kneeling before an altar, dressed as a nun, renouncing her wicked ways and giving her life to God. Probably would've been a more terrifying fate for her.
The tapestries aren't just the worst case or horrible fates for them, necessarily. They're a depiction of where they would be without the others. Prudence falling wholesale to her peril to her patron without the conscienceof the party. Corazon remaining chased by regret and the cursed ruining his life. Egbert staying in exile unable to achieve penance. Dob not having others look after his reckless decisions. Merrilwen not being stromg enough alone and being unable to protect what she loves. Lilliana suffering the consequences of her mistake.

Now you see, the Dobiana ship may seem to have crashed and burned, but my analytical eye can clearly see this is just a bump on the road of their relationship's development to add some spice.
That was an amazing session!! The return to Mistmire and some familiar characters, the very well-done character moments, the HORROR (*shudder*), Dob and Liliana getting their issues sorted out in a satisfying way (with Merilwen's help), Liliana getting character development... 10/10!
Before this series ends, one thing I'll always be grateful for with Dob is that despite the many cliche bard tropes that we're all aware of, Luke doesn't fall into any of them and really makes Dob his own. Dob's trait of falling in love with the villains is a fun spin on the old "horny bard" trope, with him being a serial romancer rather than having a lot of one night stands. The first time I played a proper campaign, I played a bard in a series of arcs that ended up lasting about five years and I absolutely took inspiration from Dob and made her a student of the "clever scheme" school of adventuring.
My new favorite episode, and that was a high bar to top! This new season is funny, well-thought, touching, and seems to connect all the loose threads of the last seasons. Thank you everyone for these wonderful adventures, can't wait for what's next!

I'm so very much going to miss Shattershield and the Oxventure crew messing with him, especially Dob and Corazon. Well, the Battle Royale was good practice for that bit, I guess. All I could think of with the chasm of ghost hands bit was Prudence using Spider Climb or Merilwyn transforming into some sort of bird (or other creature capable of flight). Not sure what Liliana can do, but if she could Spider Climb or transform then those 3 could carry the other 3 across. That was very nerve wracking with Dob rolling that 1. I was not expecting Egbert's disbelief of ghosts to come to fruition like that. Excellent episode!

Hmm, did the paladins of Mistmire see Liliana during the siege? I recently did a refresh on half of the 4:th season since I had not yet watched/listened through season 5 until last week. What I remembered is that they did a find person spell for Liliana, and she were never there during the siege as far as the players knew. They did, however, mention Liliana to some of the order while they worked on convincing the council to vote for releasing the gold dragon. Don't remember if they use minor illusion or not to show her likeness to them. Other than that, the paladins of Mistmire should not know how she looked. Well, too late now since they have already finished this campaign already, but I just wondered if I remembered wrong or if Johnny forgot since it have been far longer time in between for him. 😜

Hmm, did the paladins of Mistmire see Liliana during the siege? I recently did a refresh on half of the 4:th season since I had not yet watched/listened through season 5 until last week. What I remembered is that they did a find person spell for Liliana, and she were never there during the siege as far as the players knew. They did, however, mention Liliana to some of the order while they worked on convincing the council to vote for releasing the gold dragon. Don't remember if they use minor illusion or not to show her likeness to them. Other than that, the paladins of Mistmire should not know how she looked. Well, too late now since they have already finished this campaign already, but I just wondered if I remembered wrong or if Johnny forgot since it have been far longer time in between for him. 😜
