This is so relatable - I forgot my AAA batteries inside a small toy car. Despite it was lying in front of me all the time, it never occurred to me that I can put AAA rechargeable in that toy. Few days later, only when that toy broke, before throwing, I unscrewed the battery compartment. Since, then, I just take a picture and tag as "batteries"

Tim I liked your tip of having a tracking log of batteries.
Please relaunch this video but add a section where you talk about weather conditions and uses that would be better to use the pro envelops. I got couple dozen to use them inside blink cameras with the extended life adapter. (4 batteries in one camera)

@@TOOLMANTIMSWORKSHOP i have not noticed any of them not lasting as long. And like you said in the video I can't be anywhere near the cycle life. My plan was to number the batteries with a Permanent marker if there was issues. To track the bad ones. But never had any issues. Yet

Even though i posted recently I'd figured I would throw in my experience with the eneloop pros also not nearly as many years as the op here but i've had some of the same cells for over 3 years maybe even some as long as 4 years and no discernable or even sign of lowered capacity in the cells over that time frame so think its safe to say they're worth the money.

I would like to have seen a comparison based on output in camera flash units where recycle speed is what counts. Would freshly charged blacks make the electronic flash ready to fire again in the same or different time than the whites? I have white Eneloops (branded Sanyo before they were bought by Panasonic) that are now 15 years old and some blue ones that I do not recall when I bought. I have never thrown out a battery for failure but have lost a few, I suspect. Most of my use has been in camera flashes and my reason for watching your review was to decide if it is time retire the old and the faithful with blacks. I enjoyed your review, liked and subscribed but, in the end, the question of fast delivery of power remains unanswered.

have found Eneloop Lithium batteries to be incompatible with my new Yamaha Silent Electric guitar. Not only is it difficult to start but they just somehow switch the guitar off after a few minutes. I've had to go back to using Alkaline. The guitar uses the batteries in parallel and a 'silent guitar' creates sound through head phones or an amplifier. I've tried both the white and black batteries.

Lithium battery has 1.5V of voltage. The Alkaline has only 1.2V.
I had the same problem with a device when I tried to use with Lithium batteries. If you use 2 batteries, the difference between the voltage is 0.6V which might be too much for your device. When I switched back to Alkaline the device was working again.

The only upgrade i'd recommend for eneloops honestly throw out the original wall charger and get a nitecore or a good aftermarket battery charger that are multi cell compatible with a voltage adjuster cause for some reason everyone of those eneloop wall chargers have randomly stopped functioning. What i mean by the wall charger has stopped working as in i'll put a cell in (note barely used cell) and it'll give me the charge indicator then just won't charge or give me a bad battery indicator while as my nitecore will charge it no issue don't know why but after having 2-3 of those wall chargers give me those errors on perfectly functioning cells i've given up on their factory wall chargers. note this too this part that baffles me even more whenever i was done using the charger i removed it from the outlet and folded its contact points back into the chargers housing too so i can't chalk it up to a bad storage of the unit either which is even more baffling maybe i got multiple lemons of a charger or what but just a friendly disclaimer maybe you'll have better luck then me.

If you want cheap and good batteries. Give the Ikea Ladda a go, because rumors go they are rebranded eneloops

That 65$ for that package is definatelly a rip off. You mostly paid for the plastic box. You get an BQ-CC17 charger + 8 AA and 2 AAA batteries. On amazon an Eneloop package with same charger which includes 4 AA white batteries costs arount 18$ and an package of 4 Eneloop white batteries cost around 12$. Go figure and you spend for similar items 30$. 2 AAA short but whatever. I have by now 4 of these CC17 Panasonic chargers since I buy allways those packages for the 4 batteries they come with it.
These Eneloop Pro are the same as the Ikea batteries since these sport only 500 cycles while the white Eneloops have an capacity of 1900 mAh but are rated for 2100 cycles. Thats about 40 years of use with a weekly charge.
Avoid those packagessince you get less for much more expensive - you pay the package.
