Sadly Master Okazaki 10th dan passed away yesterday due to Coronavirus. What a terrible loss to the world and the martial arts community. We will all miss you and cherish the knowledge you gave to us.

thanks Sensei, i had the good fortune to train with him as a kid in Philly, his skill and knowledge is the reason I'm still training today 48 years later, he will be missed.

Master Okazaki graded my 1st Dan test back in 1983. He was always a gracious, caring sensei, with a wonderful sense of humor, and a tremendous skill and teaching set. I am so sorry he's passed, but he left a legacy like very few others. One of the last real, true masters. RIP Sensei.

I have the pleasure, this last three days, to spend some time training with Master Okazaki in Italy in Pesaro.
He's a very nice and funny person and he told us many stories about his life and karate.
He even called me to show a technique to the others karateka and we stayed 15 minutes trying to understand the combination…that’s was a really funny moment! I wish I could understand him a little faster!
But Thank you again Master I hope to train with you again! Oss

    すばらしい。ほんとにすばらしい!
He touched on all the most important values of any true martial art.
Made me really happy, so thanks for uploading.
Great to hear someone not afraid to talk about seeking perfection of personal character. Gotten a bit tired of the MTV approach to budo lately, with 'all ego'.
This was a really nice break from the mindless drone approach.
    Thanks

Okazaki Sensei sat my Shodan exam and passed me back in the day. My wife and love him - great teacher and a great sense of humor - he could be so funny. RIP, Sensei.

hanzabass - The 'toe' reference relates to Okazaki Sensei hoping one day to humbly being able to achieve even the smallest achievement. Of course he has achieved a great deal & worked hard to develop karate (as we all know), so now he is demonstrating his humility.

I always remember Okazaki-shihan reminding us not to “get a big head”. He always wants his highest ranking students showing humility and respect to all ranks. I used to remember when, during black belt (advanced) evening class, all of the students were mingling in the dojo before class started, and Okazaki-shihan would walk in (because instructors usually were not announced prior to class). You could sense the excitement as soon as everyone lined up. I cannot think of a more impactful human being I’ve encountered in my life thus far. This is one of several examples of his greatness and demeanor.

Um that "Blonde Woman" is a 6th level black belt. And my sensei! She is amazing. And the ISKF is a NON PROFIT organization! I would know, I'm almost a black belt. Ive been doing this for 7 years.

I'm reading a lot of hateful comments toward Master Okazaki. I don't understand why. Some people suggest that he is only after money. Yes, it is true that his association does make him some money, but is the man not entitled to earn a living? Does the association not bring much happiness to a lot of people? I've met the man and I'm a pretty good judge of character. I can tell you that he is sincere in his desire to teach karate and the dojo kun. P.S. I am not a member of ANY organization.

Wonderful message indeed. Unfortunately as we often can see the ego develops real fast in Budo at the cost of developing our moral compass & respect toward fellow human beings. Sadly you will not find a lot of true masters in the West perhaps not even a lot in Japan. Only a handful who teach what they preach.

It is amazing how much garbage commentary is on the internet, when people can hide behind a facade and pretend that they know everything every moment of their lives. It is sad that these comments are directed at such an inspiring person. If you all are so interested in how powerful you are then why even take martial arts? Go out and just start street fights day and night and you will get good at fighting..or perhaps not.
Take some time to actually think before you write something please.

you're right. people are so fascinated with martial arts through movies they watch, they can't hurry enough to sign up for class when they hear an asian "master" in town! these bozos getting black belts and even few dans over a course of several years. How is it possible to master any form of fighting that quick? You have to be trained your whole life to deserve that title! Put these clowns against a common thug and see if their black belts can prove their worth!
