I use to train with this sensei Okazaki in Philadelphia where I lived near the dojo over 40 years ago. He told us that in World War II, he was a kamakazi pilot. Just a few days before it was his turn to crash his plane into an enemy ship, the war came to an end. He let out a deep sigh of relief. Also, we once interviewed him where he taught us at Temple University in Philadelphia. He was asked if he ever hurt anyone physically. His reply: One time I was training with a student who began to get too rough with me. I could see that he was really trying to strike me and....I am an old man. (he was in his 40's), in the end, this student left with a broken collar bone.
