  • When the weather forecast for the high fells is nothing but rain, then the next best thing is to get out in the Forest, and keep dry under the trees.
That's exactly what we did for this walk. Not the longest of videos, but if you've never been before, this should give you a flavour of how great Whinlatter Forest is. Plenty of things to do for you and your children, with walks for all fitness levels and abilities.

Hiya, Colin! Thanks for looking in - it's always appreciated. Thanks for mentioning the drone footage - it's the first time I've used it in months. Take care, Col.

Funny enough thinking about going there tomorrow. Taking Mrs Metalman to the lakes for a few days on out wedding anniversary and looking for flattish walks, so will be walking to the mine in the Coledale Valley and then on up for a very first visit to Whinlatter Forest, hoping for something nice that will suit her there. Despite it looking very wet there the paths looked great to walk on and that Blue trail looks perfect for her and we must remember to collect our certificate and stickers from the visitor centre :O) . Cheers Alan

Do it, Alan! You and Mrs Metalman will love it. I've been there many times, but never done this path before - it's a really pleasant walk. a bit muddy here and there, but easily avoidable. Will go back and take my wife and grandson on this one. Go for it! Thanks for watching as always.
