I think you're approaching Thor 2018 levels of invincibility. You're like a mixture of a prime Mateusz where you're sensational at certain events and a prime Martins where you're consistent across the board. Unbelievable. Kudos to you.
All muscles have a theoretical limit to their force production in relation to cross sectional area which is based on the physical parameters of the sarcomere, the contractile unit of muscle. The contractile strength of sarcomeres vary between species because some species have longer sarcomeres, which in turn have more overlapping actin and myosin, which in turn generates more force in relation to the csa. Crustaceans have longer sarcomeres than humans, and their muscles can therefore generate proportionally more force for a given size, in some cases almost twice as much as human muscle of equal size. Based on his strength, and his performance on the shield carry, I propose that Hooper is in fact a crustacean.
Idk where that idea would come from. Everyone seems to assume static events are a weak point for Mitchell despite the fact he has always performed very well in then from all the history I've seen...🤔
His history as a marathon runner but also being rather taller than thicker in his slimmer days is not a recipe for great pressing strength but here he is. Doing it. Proving that stereotypes aren't the truth. Mitch is special breed man.

Really progressing, impressive. The analysis is really insightful, informative and useful. Not just in and of itself but also as a demonstration of the way to think about your own training.
Moose is like some strongman of legends from a bygone age, that has somehow appeared in today’s world to show everyone that they may be from the future, but they’re still doing it wrong.
It's really impressive to watch your smooth technique when you transition your right hand from bottom grip to top on the clean. Your timing is just perfect. Major props for pressing 220! Elite Mofo!!! Stay healthy and keep doing what you're doing.
Mate your rewriting strongman, your knowledge technique and strength is incredible. I'd say good luck at Worlds but barring injuries you'll walk it. Top man
Michael Koklyaev and Alexei Lovchev (olympic lifters) both performed axle clean & jerks with full clean, not roll up the belly continental style. If they could do it, you can too.
Hey Mitchell, what I like about you is your physique looks really really balanced and proportional and slim unlike other WSM. That look round and a bloated yet beefy look. Other than Bjorn but the guy is really really uncommonly tall. Great composition too, weight to strength. All the best.
Mitch is just being smart and playing by the rules using a split jerk technique. While it’s legal why wouldn’t he do it like this. He didn’t write the rules of strongman. However I do think at some point the rules will change to say that this is a different lift to axel press, similar to how sumo and conventional deadlift are different. Until then let’s see how far Mitch can push this record.👍
Strongman isn't like that. It's only about getting the weight over your head, however you choose to do that. It's more comparable to hitching on a deadlift.
Idk man. Sumo and convential feel different to me because the end position is different. With a split jerk, its not like you stop the lift with your legs apart, you still have to stand up straight and end up in the exact same position. I dont think strongman should ban anything between the start & end position unless its super dangerous ( ie log on head)
Mitch is one of the only men in the world that can spilt jerk this much weight because he’s a freak athlete, a lot of strongman have crazy static strength he has both static and explosive power. I don’t think they should change it because there’s not many that can spilt jerk crazy weight even if they wanted to
@Ont785 simply untrue. If its was easier everyone would do it. Should we just ban any technique that makes a lift more efficient? No hitching? No jerking a dumbell? No hook grip? Banning techniques is a major pandora's box
I like Mitch. I’m a Canadian. I cheer for him. But I think the axle is a lot like the deadlift, should be 2 categories, traditional vs sumo. I think the axle press should be a press, with a secondary category for split leg into press. I just feel like the mechanics are so fundamentally different, it should be separated.
This is super insane. However I would argue that Eddies or Bibbys shoulders are a little bit stronger as their Lifts were not efficient as Mitchells lift and they are closer to a strict press.
Oh my Mitchell! How you re rack at that weight and hit it second time shows how much gas you have in the tank cardio wise compared to the other amazing athletes in the sport. Ive seen you do it multiple times now where I think, nah hes messed it up and you go on to do more reps. So impressive Mitchell honestly you keep inspiring me to work hard and not give in... and also be the kindest person I can be.
