Gotta love the simplicity and practicality of your nutrition. Nothing groundbreaking or unrealistic. Just basic proven foods. Thanks for the insight big man. Your channel is killin it! As for my snack preference, a guilty pleasure snack would be the Little Debbie double decker oatmeal crème pies. Horrible for you but oh so tasty.
The difference between watching what you do for food and competition prep. compared to other WSM people (such as the retired Brian Shaw) is just night and day. You are a prime example of the working man's version of WSM. Thank you!
True, but I'm mainly referring to Mitchell doing things mostly on his own. The way that he also humbly interacts with fans in the midst of competition is also refreshing. Brian is also good at this, but Mitchell takes this to another level. He backs up his LHBK mantra.@@Sean-fz1zg
They were literally coached by the same person for years Brian followed the vertical diet as well. Minus the junk. Which could’ve made all the difference because Mitch just won
The most popular snacks in Bulgaria, I would say: 1. Roasted and salted sunflower/pumpkin seeds with the shell (we peel them with our mouth) 2. Corn on the cob with salt (beach snack) 3. Watermelon and white cheese (summer snack) 4. Regular old butter with spices and salt on bread 5. Some kind of sweet wafer from the store 6. Soletti - a salted tiny breadstick from the store 7. Carrots, apples, grapes or other fruits 8. Walnuts are a big grower here, so we have a lot of those My personal favourites are: walnuts, watermelon and cheese and bread with butter and spices
The difference between me and Mitchell is staggering and funny to see... Same age but I am skinny and my waistline hasn't changed since high school.. not much luck with facial hair too... I look like I'm in my late teens and early 20s...been watching him for motivation also information... Stay awesome Mitch
Mitchel, while you're in America, after the competition, find yourself good Mexican restaurant to get some quesabirria tacos. You'll love it. Think of it as like a taco version of a pot roast.
Wow love the content- been around fitness youtube since 2012 and the peak during powerlifting youtube during 2015/2016, ever since then the content has been stale, repeated and boring… but something about your energy, knowledge and production value thats really bringing back that golden era of fitness youtube keep up the phenom work
In Sweden my go-to snack during shows are something called "gifflar" which is basically cinnamonbun rolls, either normal just cinnamon flavoured or vanilla. I see most of the competitors snacking on the same thing, go through 2-3 bags for what is usually like 3-5 hour shows. For me it depends if i bring prepped food to eat inbetween the larger breaks and the usual proteinshake + water/caffeinated drinks or just straight coffee. Most important thing is the gifflar tho, cant do a show without them.
I have to say as a person who has had bariatric surgery your oj and greek yogurt has come in handy when the thought of food makes me sick. Thank you for sharing it.❤
Drumsticks and ice cream cookies..yummy..Your total was more than I thought in the US compared to our Canadian prices.I thougbt ours would be higher.Behind you 💯 for the Arnold's...❤ from Canadian Grandma.
What about provinces? In Manitoba we have honey dill sauce, great with chicken fingers! Also if you're in the States, Chex Mix muddy buddies are pretty great.
#1 snack for me is the Shrimp chips Calbee brand or BoyBawang Cornick garlic flavor chips. Toss em in with some rice and its perfect. Both these snacks can be found at almost any asian grocery store
Favoruite snack is also reeces. My cold snack would probably be vanilla cheesecake, love the stuff. Favoruite gym/comp snack is peanut butter, chocolate spread and banana toasties (basically banana reeces toastie)
In the UK i would recommend munchies for the snack, congrats on the win today. I knew you would win this. Incredible athlete at the moment. Good luck keeping on the right track, hope you stay injury free. A lot more to come
Good snack that doesn’t leave you feeling guilty is Harvest Snapes baked green pea snacks. Also Honeygrams cookies and putting peanut butter or a hazelnut spread on them. Saw you last April in Myrtle Beach at WSM. 💪 LHBK
You did the groceries, now you gotta do the cooking part hahaha I'm actually curious how you do, because I struggle to meet my overall cal intake and protein (i'm about 60-70% there for protein thanks to milk&egg protein shakes)
Congrats for another win. I’ve been a fan for a while. Good luck in the future. I wonder if you’re going to retire once you win wsm, strongest man on earth and rogue this year.
I’m from Egypt so our national snack would be شامعدان (shamedan) it’s essentially a wafer snack but it is top tear!!! That and كتا كيتو (kata kito) another snack that is arguably better than KitKat
You can never go wrong with the Greatest snack of all. The might liquorice pipe. But since liquorice isn't really a thing in North America for some odd reason. Pork scrachlings would just fine.
Welcome to America Mitch, i'm a Chicagoan from Illinois so a-ways from the Arnolds but best of luck on the competition (btw it's slightly funny your shopping at wally-world haha, but hey it does save both time and $$)
M&M bars a good get. My guess was $225 so just high and it’s nice seeing people have bags to use, here in Maine, we’re not allowed bags anymore 🙄 have to bring them. They’re apparently bad
My go-to snack is peanuts and raisins. Salty and sweet, crunchy and soft. Are there other snacks that taste better? Sure. But this is a pretty healthy option, and it counts as a meal because of all the protein in the peanuts.
You could try switching to almonds instead of peanuts. Peanuts as legumes just don't have quite the same nutrients, but peanuts are very inexpensive. I get almonds in the bulk food section for $3.50 a pound. If you get the raw almonds they wont be coated in vegetable oil (most peanuts/nuts are coated in veggie oil) and they are fantastic when you toast the raw almonds in a pan
@@keeanmorishita8457 I do eat plenty of almonds too, just not as often as a snack as they aren't salted (typically eat them with my oatmeal or skyr). But sometimes I'll snack on almonds - and sometimes figs instead of raisins. Not sure if almonds are necessarily better than peanuts, though. The best is probably both.
Interesting to see what you eat Mitch, especially leading up to a comp. Good luck this weekend Mitch. I was way off with my guess 😂. It's more than I thought but also not surprised it was.
I feel like mitch has some secret... the great Brian Shaw and thor are huge machines of food consumption, calories galore and up on everything from cold treatments and recovery approaches that we mere mortals could only dream of yet mitch is pushing the bar eating not much more than my level of food and his hard work ethos.. this dude is scary strong from what this side of the cam looks easy.. impressive 🙏
Well Brian and Thor and Tom (and Eddie) at peak have about 50kg / 100lb on Mitch partly due to being so gigantic generally. Novikov and Martins and a few others are similar to Mitch and really those huge guys are the anomaly. Note though that Thor has gained something like 40-50kg back in his training... that's a LOT of food.
In Scotland 🏴, got to be a rowie, often called a buttery. A luxurious bread item, toasted with extra butter if you can! Definitely getting the calories in with this one 😂.
It's so wild that you go grocery shopping when traveling. Normal tourist would either just have hotel/restaurant food, or buy some simple food to make a sandwich or something.

I’m a sucker for rice crispy’s! They are usually my pre workout snack.
$200usd is equivalent to $306aud .... for 3 days that is insane. That's how much i spend every 4 weeks on food....
You've explained the nutrition far better than some of the other strongmen.
Besides being strong af, you are very well spoken on camera and quite entertaining. Looking forward to more content!
Was shocked you grabbed the Diet Coke and not Coke Zero. Best snack in Maine, Humpty Dumpty BBQ chips.
Interesting about the white rice 🤔 my favorite snack are gansitos, it's a Mexican snack cake but available in America, at least here in the south 🤠
Great insight. Shows it doesn’t have to be complicated to eat well.

I wonder if Mitch has ever looked at Fairlife milk. The macros seem bonkers compared to others.
Fairlife is the shitt. I drink between 6-12 cups daily. The micronutrient profile on itnis sick as well.

My favorite snack is an apple cinnamon Quaker rice cake with peanut butter. The natural with honey Skippy kind if you can.
I don't if you have ever swung by South Africa Mitch, but Biltong is a staple snack. One I honestly could not live without.

Favorite snack is from Korea. Chocopie, if you put it in the freezer and let it harden up, its even better that way for me at least.
i learned something new with the whole digestion thing with fatty meats and white rice, awesome
Best healthy-ish ice cream substitute is Yasso brand yogurt “ice cream” bars. Good protein (I think 6g per 100 calories)
Wait, they have grocery stores in Canada. I thought everyone just went to Tim Horton's for food.

Mitchell Hooper. How much is my food bill?
Brian shaw. Yes

I wonder how much that would cost in Canada? And they have plastic bags at checkout. Amazing!
What I wanna know is, did you or Thor do the OJ + Yogurt first? He also mixes them into a drink based on his recent food video.
OJ + Yoghurt is a staple meal in Stan Efferding's Vertical Diet. Many strength competitors follow this diet including Mitchell, Brian and Thor!
