You need something like a paint scraper tool for when you are removing the foam dash pieces - they are a little wider than a putty knife, but the edge has a bevel to it that would follow close to the dash and allow you to peel up the foam easier, plus since they are wider you can tap on the end with a hammer to help stuff come loose
I bet you're right. I'd absolutely make a pattern of those soft pieces, and take really good pictures of them cleaned up for a reference. It would cost basically nothing to do, and would allow him contract new pieces.
So there was a "mishap"? This is a cab from a "giant" machine. So it seems unlikely that an animal got into it. Why does it sound like someone blew their brains out in the cab of the truck this is going to? Like, the entire interior was ruined??? This wasn't a coffee spill.
Did you know. Just dashes in van nuys ca. Can apply new layers of foam to dashpads and other padded trim. Then thermal vacuum form a new cover over it to make it new.
Okay so why was a new seat 2,500? Besides it being a "CAT part." I know there is unlikely to be a good reason but I'd like to. And no it being a rare, hard to find, ect. dose not count as a good reason.
Yeah, for that money I'd have someone bubba welding a bracket to a junkyard pickup truck seat. Unless there's some MSHA regulation preventing that sort of shenanigan.

Any decent upholstery shop can replicate those parts. Might be worth getting some made.

Did you make a pattern of the foam piece and floor mat. At those prices I’d find a way to make new ones. There’s bound to be a RUclips video.
Should have just swapped cabs
At the end of the day it's what makes you money. And a good upholstery cleaner will make that seat look like new.😊
Cordless tools.... takes me back to the 50s and60s!
Good job getting the parts out of the cab for your customer. I know as long as they are happy that you will be happy
So wise , Thank You for the reminder that there are a lot of parts in a cab. As we all know somebody needs it
I had no idea there was such a big market for used heavy equipment parts

Thanks for watching 🇺🇸
Cool
When you do jobs like this do you send all the screws and stuff with it or do you just send them the parts
I would have told them to buy the cab all together
Little stuff pays the bills to, so all good.

The seat brand new is around that cost we sold the seat for much less than half of that.
I do not know why the oem suppliers charge that much for new
