Great video Joe. I wish I can visit Strasburg, and even Great Western 90 in it’s Strasburg Railroad paint scheme from the 1960s that it has today. I had went to the Niles Canyon Railway. And the train was pulled by Columbia River Belt Line No. 7 “Skookum”. A 2-4-4-2 built by Baldwin in 1909.
Does anyone know if the hopper car a genuine New York, Ontario & Western car? I was under the impression that most, if not all, of the Old & Weary's hopper cars were cut up on abandonment due to being in such poor condition that no one would interchange them
Lol. One funny thing i think worth adding on was how they were blowing the whistle when moving around the yard at 5am: They barely blew it so all i really heard was a little bit of steam shoot out and the weakest/faintest noise of a whistle
89 sounds like she has 7002s whistle. Until now I thought it was installed on 7002 at the railroad museum. I hope that is the case. Did the Strasburg build a pennsy style whistle for 89?
WOW! They even repainted #90 to how she looked from when she first came to the railroad in May of 1967. Although, she no longer has her smokebox extension & rear sand dome but hey; it is what it is. Now all they need to do is repaint the coaches to how they looked during the 70's & 80's.
She won't remain in that paint for long, it was all done with decals and stickers. I would've been cool to see 90 in the original GW look with he smokebox and other dome but I like the current look better
@@TrainChamber I Thought the Locomotive would look even better if they painted the boiler green & painted the pilot & drive wheels red with white stars in the middle of the wheels.
@@TrainChamber Yeah, because it’s upsetting how they aren’t like this anymore. Wish they will just come back to life under steam again on the mainline in the future! Who agrees with me?
Incredible. Simply incredible. Those sunrise shots are just amazing! Very well done!
Thank you! I love the lighting from the sunrise
@@TrainChamber You're welcome. Yeah the lighting was great!
Fantastic video, Joe! Really glad we got some awesome weather. That shot at 3:45 though...
Thanks, Mark! Im so happy we got great weather. And as for that shot at 3:45 ik its pretty good I've been wanting to try something like it ;)
@@TrainChamber ;)))
Fantastic camera work! It was nice meeting you there.
Thanks! It was nice meeting you as well!
Outstanding job Joe! 90 looks beautiful in that egg logo livery.
Thanks Ty! I agree!
A very nice video indeed! Love 90 with white stripes!
Thank you! I Agree!
89 and 90 look gorgeous in the morning sunlight.
I agree. I love the lighting.
No wonder why I wanted to be a steam locomotive engineer when I was a kid.... Spectacular smoke, noise and movement!
I think we all wanted to be a steam loco engineer at one point in our life. It really is captivating.
Those sunrise shots are amazing! This is easily one of the best videos you've made so far!
Thank you! Im glad you enjoyed!
This is amazing Train Chamber! 90 sure looks good in the Egg Logo scheme. Again, phenomenal work.
Thank you! I love the white highlights as well as the Egg Logo
A very Happy 60th to my most very favorite Railroad! 🎂🚂
Strasburg has been around since 1832 and Tourist trains started in the 50s. 2020 celebrates the anniversary of steam operations

Thanks for the nice comment + thats cool
Great Video Joe, it was so Amazing.
Thanks bud!
An excellent job on this video it really captures what Strasburg railroad operations looked like in the 60s!!
Thank you! The retro look on 90 is great.
Awesome. 90 looks great! If only 89 had a retro look too.
Thanks! I agree! it would've been nice to see both of them in the old scheme
Once again Joe outstanding work!
Thanks again!
Love the video. Thanks for sharing!
Im glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for watching + commenting
Awesome video. I'm drawn to it after that first clip blowing all that steam.
Very well done! It was great meeting you Saturday!
Thanks! I enjoyed meeting you as well.
Superb job! You did an amazing job with the camerawork! I I'm really glad this was my first charter, looking forward to more. Spectacular Job again!
Thanks so much! That was my 3rd. Charters offer great photo ops. Thanks again!
Awesome video!! Thoroughly enjoyed!
Im glad you enjoyed! Thanks for watching!
The shots in this are simply amazing. Great video!
Thank you!
Even though 90 is a decapod, 90 reminds me of the Tennessee central's 4-8-2s. they were one of the lightest 4-8-2 mountains ever built
Awesome video, especially those morning shots in the beginning, phenomenal! 90 looked good in the retro scheme, too bad 89 wasn't wearing it also!
Well originally they advertised that both engines would be in a retro scheme, but im not 100% sure why they didnt with 89. Thanks for watching
Awesome video! You got some sweet shots!
Thanks you! Im glad you liked them!
very well done hope the keep 90 like that for a while
I hope so too but she's being returned to her regular paint scheme as the charters end
That's unfortunate I would hope to see 90 in that scheme
Once again another amazing video! Boy I wish I could of been there. Anyway keep up the great work!!!
Thank you!
Your camera skills are very impressive! Some of the best footage that I've seen in a while.
Thank you for watching, as well as commenting!
This is just stunning masterful camera work. Bravo 👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks much!
Just fantastic
Great footage

I wouldnt know. It probably is but it might also just be painted that way
Congrats to the Strasbourg railroad
Cheers to many more years
@@TrainChamber yup
4:12
90 be like, “Good morning!”
Lol. One funny thing i think worth adding on was how they were blowing the whistle when moving around the yard at 5am: They barely blew it so all i really heard was a little bit of steam shoot out and the weakest/faintest noise of a whistle
I honestly think they should keep this paint scene on 90 for a while and possibly do it to 89 and 475
I agree about 90. It would look cool on 89 as well but 475 would be a little odd. Id have to see it first
Imagine 90 getting a D&RGW 5 Chime and 89 getting a GTW 6 Chime, now that would be something!
Each engine could keep the whistle they have now, however it would be nice to see the CNR 4 chime returned to 89
@@TrainChamber or a new whistle for 89 like a CN 6 Chime?
89 sounds like she has 7002s whistle. Until now I thought it was installed on 7002 at the railroad museum. I hope that is the case. Did the Strasburg build a pennsy style whistle for 89?
You are correct, its a Pennsy 3 Chime. Its from LIRR (ex PRR) 39
Millennium force! Millennium force! THERES A TWAIN, It’s me Nate btw
*_Yikes_*
I personally I like 90 the way she looks in this video, it’s more aesthetically pleasing than just the pure black look that she has had in the past
I agree. All of the striping makes the paint really pop as compared to just black
9:40 to 9:55, sweet music
Great Whistle. Its a Reading 6 Chime
Wish I could have been there
It was a great event to be at. Im sure there will be something like it in the future

@@ishirotanaka Thats your preference, I disagree.
Wish mainline steam excursion operations will return to the mainline in the future.
Sometime it may happen.
@@TrainChamber Yeah, because it’s upsetting how they aren’t like this anymore. Wish they will just come back to life under steam again on the mainline in the future! Who agrees with me?
is it me or did they change 90 whistle
They did not change 90's whistle, they were just blowing it more (more steam in the whistle making a louder sound)
Awesome video!
Thanks!
