The blockage looked suspect early on with less overflow & slow pulsing at that first IO & when Ollie plunged the clean out at the bottom of those stairs & the back flow pressure was low, it pretty much tells you there's a blocked main - all you need to do now is find a manhole to confirm. Great perseverance on the part of Ollie & Brett though.
This may be the most interesting drain I've seen you work so far. I have to admire the work you put in, and the danger to which you expose yourself to keep the facilities running smoothly. Well done!
Since you're closing up on 500, have you ever considered doing like a Q&A/AMA video? You're Ollie the Drain Addict from Australia. That's basically what we know. I don't know if you're an open kind of person, but have you ever thought of a sit down video of your answering questions we might have???
You rarely dissapoint, but today, you and Brett have supassed yourselves. Well done Fellas .Especially interested in the change from custard to pea soup.

That was quite a hunt you made for the hidden treasure only to find that the city will have the pleasure to clean up the mess! Your camera man was great!
So he has the paddles but where's the boat? it's bad enough to go down shit creek without the paddles but it's even worse to go down shit creek without the boat.
The plumbing in Australia seems strange. Is there a lot of retro-fits to older buildings? In America, our plumbing is all inside the walls and then goes either under the foundation or through the basement to the sewer. There's always a sewer access right outside of the house.
A lot of plumbing/drainpipes are run on the outside of buildings in Australia. A lot of water heaters are located outside too. This is especially so in older buildings like the ones in this video. Very old buildings will be retrofit with plumbing this way too. Newer buildings (perhaps from the 60's on) have most of the plumbing inside the walls. Melbourne's first sewer system was initially completed in 1897 complete with a steam powered pumping station and treatment "farm". Much of this system is still in use today. Sydney's sewer system is over 120 years old too. I'm an American now living in Australia and yes a lot of the plumbing is very different here. Ollie's videos show what typical Australian plumbing looks like very well.
I have pulled many of those "white mouses" out of toilet mains in my days of doing maintenance. And one such event, I thought it was some kind of a cat toy, the plumber that was standing right behind me starts laughing his head off! Because it was not, it was in fact a white mouse! LOL
Wow, this job was pretty extensive but great job in the end between you both, locating and clearing it all. Wait until the city sees how stopped off they are lmao. Hopefully they come nm out and clear that as an emergency. Other than that, that is multiple properties that are going to have issues
This has to be one of the most intensive jobs you’ve done recently Ollie, fair play mate. I guess the flats have been putting all sorts down their drains for a while! 🐀

In the UK it is discouraged to flush tampons down the loo. Is that the same in Australia? You seem to find too many, along with all the wet wipes, and so on. There also seems to be a less strict view of what a sewerage system is over there. Some shocking bodges. At least it keeps you in business I suppose.
It’s the same here in Oz. Tampons, wet wipes, condoms and kitchen oils are all no no’s for the flush and sink.
