I’m so grateful for the music coming into my ears right now. The sounds my mind is experiencing has been waited on for much longer than it should have ever been.
Lyrics: Abandon yourself Abandon your health I'll be your physician I'll be your prescription I'll be your housekeeper and your wealth Like a mirror and the sun We'll be following our intuition Surrender yourself Deliver yourself I'll be your incision I'll be your new weapon I'll be your life savings and your loan When i saw you all alone Were you following your intuition to fruition? Shooting star fire power Burning out in the sky Love burns so high (shooting star fire power) Falling out of the sky In time you will find flaming tongues, flaming eyes In time you will find everything that shines must die Shooting star fire power Like the rivers and the flowers Love burns so high (shooting star fire power) Burning out you and i Shooting star fire power Burning out in the sky Shooting star fire power Burning out you and i Shooting star fire power Burning out in the sky Just like you and i Shooting star fire power Burning out in the sky Just like you and i Just like you and i
Im hooked. Wish they'd come play over here in NY somewhere I could access. My five year old daughter wont let me take the disc out of the deck in the truck!
There's nothing about them that spells a band that won't get attention anyway. They are good musicians who make catchy music. It's nice to listen to. They'll get a small following that will keep them going for a while. It's up to them really if they want to keep making stuff that is catchy and not "sell out" by signing to a major label and changing up their game. It's mostly up to them, as most bands who came before.
we dont pretend to be cool, we are cool. if a persons good at what thier doing they are going to get noticed, as hipsters we know that. i.e foster the people, edwarde sharpe, swim deep, moro y tori. we just want to embrace the independence while it lasts.
Hmm...I looked up the Four Owls. Not bad. What you are describing is happening in America too with labels like Rhymesayers. There was this guy called "Eyedea" that I saw live several times and he passed away like a year and a half ago. I'm not that into hip hop any more the whole genre lost my interest because most of the new shit I find boring or really fucking stale.
These guys are good, but something's missing. I dig it, but it has a buzz kill feel to it...almost Modest Mouse, but no where near it. I can see how they are not main stream, but that never gauges great music anyways.
I pretty much stated that the underground is good. Which is all that is happening. "If I had any idea" I pretty much just stated what is going on in detail. So I do have a fucking idea. "There's tonnes" of good new hip hop? Where the fuck are you from? England? Has there ever been any good hip hop from there ever?
Music is changing, and it's harder for them to just make a buck as you say. The way I see it is the talent pool is a LOT smaller. It's not like the 70's or early 90's where you had lots of good bands jockeying for a position. Now the popular stuff is awful and good music just isn't in abundance. The sad part is that I don't see that changing a whole lot. Long story short, bands like these don't make it any more, no matter how good they are.
I don't want to argue or carry on even, but there is. Granted loads of it is shite. But if you don't believe look up Verb-T, Fliptrix, Four Owls among others. I'm not saying 'english rap' is good, just that there is a load of good hip hop cropping up at the moment. aye, i'll give you that one though.
I'm mostly referring to white English rappers. Sorry that pool of rappers stinks. Slick Rick is obviously amazing, but he spent most of his life in America. Black reggae from England is great too.
Somehow I doubt that. I've heard English rappers before. Not even worth listening to really. I have friends in underground hip hop in California, which is where a lot of good stuff rap comes from. The English did classic rock all right. Folk from England is pretty good too. Rap? Not so much.
Really? If popular music has a large talent pool, I'm just not seeing it I guess. Take hip hop for instance, which is an all right genre. There's NOTHING happening in hip hop at all. The underground of this genre is good, but popular stuff is flatline. Why is this? Because the stuff that is cool just doesn't have enough lifeblood left. Rock is like this too. Some decent underground rock happening like this. But what is charting right now? Dog crap, that's what.

Severely underrated
leader singer is an amazing vocalist. His arrangements here and in other songs are impressive...."be your own weapon"
Another great song by an amazing band.
Lyrics:
Abandon yourself
Abandon your health
I'll be your physician
I'll be your prescription
I'll be your housekeeper and your wealth
Like a mirror and the sun
We'll be following our intuition
Surrender yourself
Deliver yourself
I'll be your incision
I'll be your new weapon
I'll be your life savings and your loan
When i saw you all alone
Were you following your intuition to fruition?
Shooting star fire power
Burning out in the sky
Love burns so high (shooting star fire power)
Falling out of the sky
In time you will find flaming tongues, flaming eyes
In time you will find everything that shines must die
Shooting star fire power
Like the rivers and the flowers
Love burns so high (shooting star fire power)
Burning out you and i
Shooting star fire power
Burning out in the sky
Shooting star fire power
Burning out you and i
Shooting star fire power
Burning out in the sky
Just like you and i
Shooting star fire power
Burning out in the sky
Just like you and i
Just like you and i
I saw them in the Midwest right before I moved back to California. Awesome band. Really mellow sound.
exactly! i dont even want to expose them to anyone cuz this is exactly what i've been looking for
They're fantastic, aren't they? I really enjoyed their live concert.
Same.
totally. you can listen to their old 'cool' music even after they get popular and still enjoy it, the music hasn't been degraded at all..
Soooooooo Good. The key board gives it such a great syntho-pop feel :P
neon dove is also amazing.
@sk8erfolive they are from Santa Barbara
Im hooked. Wish they'd come play over here in NY somewhere I could access. My five year old daughter wont let me take the disc out of the deck in the truck!
the bass @ 3:14 !!!!
So sick...was gonna say the same, but saw this comment. A+
Good news everyone overdrive pedals kick ass.
i dont want to share this band with anyone else...

you are fucking lovely
That recording sounds GREAT!
shit were already too many. lol these guys are amazing.
Yes, which is exactly what i'm saying. there is loads of good hip hop coming out of england at the moment believe it or not.
If you had any idea, you'd know theres tonnes of good new hip hop around at the moment.
THE FUCKING DRUMS
grreeeat
Love all their songs... except Gypsy. That one doesn't click with me for some reason.
It's a Fleetwood Mac cover

there is nothing wrong with getting paid for what you love. the compromise is the sin.
Slick Rick is one of the best rappers ever, he's English.
They were in an issue of GQ. Guess you guys have to stop liking them
is he single date me...lead singer..;)
Did anyone else think of Mario Bros when they read the title?

The Caretaker (2015) movie brought me here

I think I just got pregnant
